I hate place because there is a lack of employees near the checkout area and the check out process takes a while.

You can barely move in the aisles. You have employees with there large carts blocking every which way. They never say excuse me and almost run you over around each corner. Then they have there pallet jacks filled with pallets and also don't say excuse me as they stare you down to move out of there way. I understand workers need to pick orders but it's so inconvenient as a shopper because they have soooo many employees everywhere and then I asked someone where a product is and she said: I don't speak English and that was that. This place is a joke. I walked around the store for about 35 minutes looking for 1 item. The website said that it was at that particular store. I finally went up to an associate and asked her if she knew where I can find the item. She didn't even look at me. She said that she doesn't know and that I have to "just look around for it ". It wasn't even busy at the time because of a rain storm. Those type of associates are the reason I won't visit this store again. read more

Update: This store is huge. Unfortunately it's unbelievably confusing, even to the employees. I asked three different employees where the IRONS section was, two employees could care less what I had asked as they had me walking in the wrong direction, the third was gracious enough to take out some device and give me the correct location. read more

Very slow curbside pickup. It takes about hours to get a curbside 1 item pickup. I think it's better to go inside and shop.

WOW THE RACISM.. My mother and I were in the self check out and the cashier was staring at us as I was scanning dog food 10 times. When we are done scanning everything the cashier stops us and says we only scanned five of the ten dog food when I clearly scanned 10 on the screen before paying. She held onto our cart and made a scene. We showed the receipt and she silently apologized but now the door monitor, who watched and heard everything decides to deep dive the receipt and items I purchased. Extremely embarrassing and being the only POC around it's not hard to guess why she did this. Shame on you Walmart. It's bad enough being watched WHILE we are scanning but then you STILL accuse us of stealing ?? .98 cents dog food on a bill we paid over $100?? read more

Another visit in which our purchase included 5 gal water refills..we were harasesd as usual once more even before reaching the exit. Make good customers feeling like they think we are water criminals. This time also questioning our tops which were purchased on Amazon. We are a muddle aged white couple n feel discriminated against. Why is every employee either head down texting on their phone while working or blabbing out loud in Spanish on speaker phone? Aren't they supposed to be working....? This Walmart is closest to my home so I frequently stop by to pick up odds and ends. When I do come, it is very hit or miss what items will actually be in stock. They are usually completely out of fruit and vegetables no matter what time of the week I come. Yet, they are usually fully stocked in snacks which is my primary reason for going. The aisles are not always nicely organized, sometimes they have what you want but you need to search for it. Overall decent but I would only go if you absolutely needed to. read more

I just want to let Walmart to hear the customer, I recently placed a online order, the have two problem: 1. you substitute item without customer agree. I think when something out of stock, you don't have to fill with something else, you don't know people like or not. you filled different cereal for me, actually it wasn't what I like, but it is ok, I will eat them anyway. 2. when I arrived to pick up order, I parked in pick up spot, I called number you list there, but I got the message said message box is full. luckily I saw someone was working with other customer, so they helped. the Walmart I went to located on Rt18, Old Bridge. read more

This Walmart is very large, well lit with a nice layout. You can find just about anything here; there's a garden center, there's computer accessories, there's a produce stand and of course all the grocery and clothing you could possibly want. They have sporting goods there, they have paint, I'm sure missing a lot of things. Unfortunately they also have very slow-moving cash registers. If you're hoping to run in there and grab something and run out it most likely won't happen. It's amazing that some of these cashiers get hired. But that's not my biggest issue with this particular Walmart location. I have been burned many times when I needed something specific and when I went there they were out of it. For example I went there today Saturday, August 20, 2016. I needed shock and algicide for my swimming pool. They were not only out of both I didn't even see a space on the shelf for either of these products. I realize summer is coming to an end but all pool owners need to shock and put algicide in their pools when they close them in September. Maybe someone needs to educate the management at the store about the products they need to carry at what times of the year. In fact the garden center in general was pretty lacking - they only had a couple grills to pick from and there were many empty shelves. So I was forced to go to a pool supply store where both of these items were in abundance. And I lost a good half hour of my life in the process. The bottom line is you can expect Walmart to have a large selection of products often at the lowest prices. But at this Walmart expect to wait in long lines and do not rely on them for a specific item. You may get letdown. If you need something urgently you may be better off going to a store that you know will have it in stock like a sporting good store, or a pool store, or a clothing store, etc. read more

Clean and organized Walmart! Those are everything you could ask for when shopping at Walmart, nothing like a stress free shopping experience. This is a super Walmart; so you'll have groceries , a very large toy section, a garden center and everything else you could ask for. You could probably accomplish most of your shopping here. Check out lines are short thanks to self check out and of course they have traditional cashier lines too. If you're looking for bulk items, fear not. Sams club is next door! You could drive over to their lot or walk over. The only thing I had issues with was finding a price scanner. I wish they were more clearly marked. read more

We all go to Walmart to save money and that's their niche. The quality of the stuff you buy here leaves something to be desired but if you're looking for cheap, this is the place. This place is always busy it seems and so the parking lot is always a mess. Once inside it's the standard layout. Hopefully you'll be able to navigate the store to find what you need because if you need help, you're on your own. Even if you're lucky enough to find an employee they probably can't help you. The sporting goods section is pathetically small compared to other Walmarts. And, of course, no one works in that area. It's very frustrating if you need something that is locked or has restricted access. Electronics aren't much better. Or automotive. Or dairy. A trick I use is to call the front desk on my cell phone and ask them to send help. It works, but you really shouldn't have to do that. read more

Clean isles, bored security staff pretend shopping midday to make it look like more customers than normal. Three registers open with long lines mid Monday (about 2pm). Bought a "new" fan from a sealed box, took it to work, opened it up and got a broken fan that looked like it had been in heavy use since the 80s. Someone obviously had returned their own fan after sealing up a box so that they could get one for free. Whoever was at the service desk when I tried to return it basically treated me like a criminal. I could have just sealed it back up and continued the cycle, but I chose not to. Both ladies were incredibly rude to me after the initial bad customer experience of buying this fan in the first place. They eventually took it back, but had to call the manager over, who I guess was the only one competent enough to realize I wouldn't blatantly lie about this. I won't be shopping at this Wal*Mart again. read more

What's going on at this Walmart? I've been coming to this walmart for over 12 years, I understand covid messed everything up but this store is a constant HOT mess. It's at the point that I don't even want to go in there anymore, boxes everywhere in the middle of the isle, things thrown around like a bomb hit the store. Complete isle's blocked off by so much inventory, you can't even walk down which has to be a fire hazard and shelves in disarray, a freaking mess! Last time I went in I overheard an employee say every time he comes into work its worse and worse due to new Management. The new management needs to get their shit together!! read more

Walmart--I've been to this location a few times. It just like all the others. Although I couldn't find fresh roses anywhere. Maybe I should've checked the nursery. Most locations have fresh flowers at the front door. Plenty of fresh produce available. Well stocked. The store is pretty clean-- Then again I wasn't checking the floors and shelves. Management and Customer Service needs improvement. I did an in-store purchase of Downloadable Nintendo game as a Christmas gift 10 days before Christmas. I was refused a Return by the Manager of the store and there is no basis for it. I explained the gift was a duplicate item as the gift was already purchased by someone else for Christmas. Returns manager said he could not give me a refund. I noted to him there was no mention of non-returnable item on the receipt or on the store shelf where the downloadable item card was purchased. Code has never been used. The returns manager was not helpful AT ALL. All he said was '"contact Nintendo". He said "the policy is online" - but you can't assume all 1000 people that buy at your store everyday read Walmart.com before entering your store to do in-store purchases. **IRONICALLY, it also noted online that this item is returnable within 30days!!!: So no where does it say item cannot be returned and even Walmart.com online help says this item can be returned, but you have to goto the store. I'm not the type of person to give bad reviews but this Walmart location deserves it. To give it a one star is hard for me to do. I happened to go here but I usually go to other locations and I don't have a problem. First off no one is helpful in the store and the cashier's don't even say hello anything no customer service at all! They make you feel like they are doing you a favor and actually it's the customers choice and we can go to other locations or a Target or whatever. Secondly I had a Digital Gift card on my phone and when I told the cashier it was a digital gift card all she said is we don't take that and shook her head. Then I said call the Manager over because I've used digital gift cards at other locations without a problem. The manager (who was a cashier on the other line) told me I have to make a print out of the digital gift card and bring the paper in with me next. I mean what's the point, it's not a digital gift card anymore. So I ended up paying another way but what if I didn't have the funds. So going forward I'll go somewhere else to do my shopping. Maybe this Walmart can do more one one one customer service training would help as no one is friendly at this store. read more

I tried to get in and out of the store but I can never do it fast enough. I only had one item and it took forever to cash out. I did get to see an eccentric array of people and I have been told this is one of the more "normal" ones. Will leave it at that. They do have a good amount of variety of produce, first aid kits, food pantry, cheap accessories, clothing, cosmetics, gardening supplies, and kitchenware. I can appreciate that. I wouldn't say they have the cheapest stuff but I will say they have a good and fair prices on their gardening supplies. The cashiers seem overworked and very tired. Their return lines are very long. I'm thankful I haven't returned anything as of yet. Now watch me jinx myself. read more

By far the worst Walmart I've ever been to. Came in around 10pm, 1 hour before closing time to get a replacement headlight bulb, after locating them and realizing they were in a case, I tried to find someone with a key. An employee , who's was working his first day went to find someone to no avail, I then asked someone else who promptly told me they couldn't help me, to then move to another person who couldn't help me. Went to the front to have them page someone , finally got someone to open the case , I ended up buying the wrong one, no problem I'll just go exchange it, Nope , customer service is closed , ok I'll bite the bullet, spend another $50 and return the wrong one tomorrow. I was then told by at least 4 People that they cousins help me, I did laps around the store to find the same guy who helped me last time , couldn't find him. Eventually, getting fed up, I asked for a manager , over the loudspeaker they called , and called... mins you it's about 5 minutes ti 11pm at this point . Finally find the manager , who's on her personal phone , walking past me. I said, "I'm looking for you" . Rudely, she told she can't help me, she's clocked out and can't " . You're a manager at Walmart, a customer needs help, you don't say no. Im really good at making a stink online, you bet your ass im taking to Twitter , took a picture of the store manager and his phone number and he's getting a call tomorrow. Placed a pickup order...upon pickup multiple items are missing. Let the young man know who brought the order out, then he proceeds to basically accuse me of theft and lying by saying he brought out 2 cases of soda when he never did. Next time this happens to anyone else request loss prevention and your local PD so you can get the documents needed to sue for defamation. Being a senior citizen with health issues, I'm forced to shop for groceries online. Walmart, is a real mess. First off,do NOT buy produce of any kind online. Beefsteak tomatoes are always moldy. I'm not sure if Walmart has an experienced produce manager, and if they do have a manager, 1) He or she hasn't a clue about fruits / vegetables. Walmart employs a ton of young people mostly part time and honestly folks these future leaders of our country are for the most part brain dead. If you call the grocery department with either a question or a complaint, they are not able to resolve the issue. If you ask to speak to " a manager " they always tell you the manager is not there. For instance yesterday I had an order that was scheduled to be delivered between 10 & 11 a.m. I never got it. This person delivered my order somewhere else. The same Door Dash driver did the same thing the week before. The first time I thought he or she made a mistake. This happens, but the 2nd time is unacceptable. read more

Walmart had been the "go to" place for just about everything. I liked this store so much that I traveled from Brooklyn just to shop there (and with COVID, it's a nice ride on a beautiful day and out of the house!). But, alas, it's no longer worth the ride when Wegman's is in Woodbridge and so much better on food. Food shelves are almost bare, staff is minimal and when they ran out of change they told me they had to round up to the nearest dollar! How dare they. Seems to be the same at other Walmart's I've visited. Also, products they say they carry on-line are nowhere to be found (in multiple stores). Do they think we're stupid? There is always one exception and I found it at a Walmart in Farmingdale. The manager of their new food section was so helpful, she basically shopped for me because I couldn't find half the items on my list. What a gem! Knew where every item was. read more

Like I've said before walmart is a love/hate relationship. Although I frequent this one, that is going to change. The cashiers ironically they actually had more than 3 registers open were the bottom pick of whatever. The store basically was not stocked, they were actually completely empty shelves in every department. Tisk tisk! They've cut back on selections of certain things. You either have a name brand or their brand which doesn't leave you much of a choice. I had bought a Rotisserie chicken (was told they were decent) the cashier tilted it on its side to put it in a bag (friggin duh!!) Of course it opened and juice everywhere! After he took his time half ass cleaning it up, I told him I was going to get another one when he was done (if ever ) I see the cashiers move in 2 speeds slow n stop. I know from experience they teach how to bag a proper bag well apparently all cashiers must've been absent or fast forwarded that part of their videos. I have shopped in many new jersey and pa. Walmart Supercenter and walmart if Freehold on main Street is thw worst. Not just because of Covid and the holiday but all the time. You go in and every section has boxes on skids piled up si high that if you want to find something you cannot. Very sloppy, disorganized and really disappointing to shop in this store. For the disabled people who needs a electric scooter, either there is none or there are only three in the store. I would not recommend anyone to this store, and rather travel to go to one that is Clean and organized. This organization should be ashamed at themselves. read more

Up until Christmas of 2013 this location was great! Now, it seems like they are never stocked up. Almost as if they are going out of business. I saw a team of managers and brought up how they need some improvement with restocking the shelves and they all seemed surprised?? So I pointed to the empty shelf of cereal, and then to the missing section of Great Value Brand of cereal bars that hasn't been in the store since Valentines Day, it's now April. And they haven't had David's Pumpkin Seeds since Thanksgiving. I don't bother looking for them anymore, but for just for the record I walked by the aisle and they still have no seeds..they have the stickers on the shelf, but no seeds. They need to wake up! And only a few registers open at 12:30. Why did they bother putting in 50 registers if they only open a handful?? Turning into a disappointment . read more

Why would anyone shop at Walmart? We needed a specific pharmaceutical product. We hadn't been to Walmart in over a year because of covid. When we walked in the fruits and vegetables looked lovely so we decided to come back to the food section. We go to the pharmacy department to pick up "the product." Nobody who works there knows where it is. 3 different employees sent us to different aisles. It wasn't in any of those places. We ask the pharmacist. She sends to another aisle. Of course, it wasn't there either. We gave up! We are so frustrated that we decide to leave and not shop in any other department. On our way out the door there is a lovely sign about contacting Martin, the store manager. We dial the telephone number given. It is not Martin's phone number. It is the store number. We make selections to try to get to Martin. The phone rings and rings and rings. We are now walking to the car. By the time we actually spoke with Martin it was 10 minutes later and we were pulling in Target's parking lot in Manalapan. Martin told me that we should be looking up whatever we want on the computer because most of his employees don't know where things are. He was courteous, but clueless. My feeling is he couldn't care less. There is no way he was ever going to keep us as a Walmart customer. The story should end here but it doesn't because Target is an amazing comparison. As I mentioned above, we ended up at Target. We walked to the pharmacy department and the pharmacist knew exactly where our product was. When we came to that aisle a Target associate pointed to the product. We then did what we had planned to do at Walmart - browse through the food department. As we were walking around, we needed directions to find certain things. Target's associates walk you over to the things you are looking for. One associate (I think her name was Emma) actually explained the difference between 2 products to make pancakes. We ended up spending $49.07. Not a lot of money to Walmart or Target, but I ask, again, why would spend it at Walmart? Walmart was a totally frustrating experience and Target was just what one should expect from a service company. read more

Awful! Never more than 4 registers open....10 plus ppl in line at each register (10 days before Christmas) and they don't open any more- management is clueless. Avoid this store at all cost. If you want to end up sick or with a house full of fruit flies then purchase your produce here. They have rotting tomatoes dripping on the floor with mold and fruit flies at 5pm on a Sunday. This store is always out of stock its a waste of time going there. A visit from the health department is in order for this location. read more

By far one of the most disorganized Walmart store i have ever been in. I was extremely disappointed! Every aisle was in disarray and things were strewn about all over the place. Shelves were a mess and things were in the wrong places! i was there last Sunday morning @ 9:30 am which should have been a good time to go. Figured things were restocked overnight and everything put back in place from the day before. But it was so bad, i started walking through the store, put some items in my cart and was so disgusted i left my cart in the middle of the store and walked out without purchasing a thing! I live in Old Bridge and i have to say the Walmart by me on Route 18 is a pleasure! The store is always so clean and organized and nothing is out of place!! The Subways located inside Walmart in Freehold NJ, has the worst customer service. You ask for a meal that includes a drink and chips and they give you the premium drink that is nearly $3 with no chips. First and last time I will ever go there. read more

Worst thing that they do....NOT ANSWER THEIR PHONES!!! Just like Walmart in Howell! Yesterday, Thursday, Jan. 26 2023 they delivered less than half my order of groceries,... did leave it on my doorstep as I did instruct, my daughter took it in about 10 minutes later and unpacked it for me as I was not available to do it... she did not know what I ordered... and that should not matter... Around 1130 last night when I went to take something out that I needed that I had ordered that day it wasn't there and it wasn't on the list that item not available, my daughter came and asked me for something else that she had ordered and I had gotten for her and that wasn't there either. Also not on that list... I began to check and realized that a lot of my order had not been delivered and since it was after hours I waited till this morning to call and I started calling at about 630 and by 10:30 AM. I'd given up trying to get anyone at that store in freehold I had walmart.com cancel the order and I had to order from a different grocery store, which ended up costing me more money so tip of the day don't order from Walmart from directly from their stores because this is the not the first Time they have done this either buy deliveries or pick ups from the freehold, and the Howell store in New Jersey... better to pay a little more in prices in the grocery stores and not have to deal with this hassle... read more
