Diane & Company - Buyer Beware!!

Diane & Company

I wish I could give Diane & Co. more than five stars. For over 14 years, Diane, Kim, and Chrissy…read morehave been the secret behind every special occasion for me and my three daughters. What sets this shop apart is their sheer expertise. This isn't the kind of place where you just pull things off a rack yourself; it's a personal boutique experience where you put your trust in the experts. I can't count the number of times I've walked in with one idea in mind, let them "do their thing," and walked out with a dress more stunning than I ever could have imagined. They have an intuitive sense for style, body type, and fit that is second to none. As a fuller figured woman that lacks confidence, they have never let me down! From the initial selections to the final fitting, they ensure everything is absolute perfection. Thank you, Diane, Kim, and Chrissy, for over a decade of making us feel beautiful and confident. We wouldn't go anywhere else!

I visited Diane & Company while shopping for a mother-of-the-groom dress, specifically because they…read morecarry a designer I was interested in. Prior to my appointment, I even contacted the designer in California and was told that Diane & Co should at least have fabric swatches available if I decided to order through them. When I arrived for my appointment, there was already an uncomfortable situation unfolding in the store involving another customer and a disputed sale. While I chose to overlook that and proceed with my appointment, the overall experience only declined from there. The owner greeted me abruptly and, after I showed her an inspiration photo, immediately told me that a ball gown "would not look good" on me--an unnecessary and unprofessional comment. I then worked with a sales associate, who informed me that the dress I was looking for had just been sold. She proceeded to bring out two heavy, winter-style gowns that were completely inconsistent with what I had described (a formal summer garden wedding) and in a size (16) that did not match mine (4). Despite being told the store carries thousands of dresses, I was ultimately told there was nothing suitable for me. Given my budget of up to $3,000, this was both surprising and disappointing. Having worked in the retail and service industry myself, I can honestly say this was one of the most discouraging and unprofessional shopping experiences I've had. I left feeling dismissed rather than assisted. I ended up going to Emily's Boutique, where the experience could not have been more different--welcoming, attentive, and ultimately successful, as I found the perfect gown. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Diane & Company to others looking for a positive, customer-focused shopping experience.

Schlock to the left of me, schlock to the right -- but here I am stuck in the middle with you. I…read morecan name that tune in one note. Think of the crumbling Sears department store chain, take one of their vacated stores and fill it with cheap disposable clothing and you have the essence of Primark. The dated retail monstrosity of Freehold Raceway Mall has never been a personal favorite but the absolute dishevelment inside Primark makes the rest of the place feel like Rodeo Drive. Shelves... why bother... just dig through the threadbare rags on the floor. Hey, there's a really nifty polyester sport coat I can wear to my next arraignment. I saw it first clown, give it back. So, you wanna play rough... You get the picture. Just having the jacket on for two minutes compelled other shoppers to spontaneously give me money. Why bother with a tin cup. I never thought that any retailer could be worse than Sears but Primark certainly has aspirations to that fetid crown. Two polyester stars.

The store was out of .10 & $1 bags, I came here to buy close to $200 worth of socks to donate and was treated so badly that my husband and person checking out next to me gave me a look as if in shock. It was horrible! Pam the manager was mean and unprofessional for a request that has been granted in the past -- a simple garbage bag, which I offered to pay for. I'll be going elsewhere from now on to pickup donation items.

Super cheap, gaudy clothing that rips apart in a day, go somewhere else!!! Please read: When…read morereturning their clothing, I unfortunately lost my receipt however, I've been able to return items in real stores hundreds of times as long as I had the tags on and the credit card used. It took them legit 15 minutes to find my order...one item was finally returned but for the other "sales item" (*which I was specifically told by **Deseree, the spanish associate that she will give me "10 days to return" since I didn't have time to try on when purchasing*) was refused to be returned by the same Deseree. Deseree apparently "doesn't remember" telling me that nor recall the situation and rudely and obnoxiously went on lying and denying. You can see the ghetto in her waving head. I told her to look at the cameras on the date of purchase but she continued to lie. The weirdest part is out of anger I told them I don't want the item and they were more than happy/jolly to "keep" it. Especially Deseree who had a smirk on as she happily kept my item. End story: they kept my item but refused to give me my refund...But jokes on them because I have amex platinum and they will be made to return the money for the item they happily kept. .... Shame on you Deseree for lying and reverse accusing a paying customer of lying when they told you to look at cameras!!!(what other proof than cameras do you need?) shame on you for keeping the same item that you refused to do a refund for!!! Deseree you're a college dropout working in "Windsor". Perhaps get an education and you wont have to take your misery out on innocent shoppers. I understand that you're a coplete failure at life( working as a sales store at 35) and this is the only form of control in your life but things can change for even you. Step 1: just start out being a nice and honest person and the rest will follow! : )
