Walmart, I have a few issues and questions that I would like to discuss with you about my experience in your Charlottesville store on 11/19. I came to your store to eat lunch, as I do almost daily. I work at the dealership adjacent to the Wal-Mart. After eating, I was browsing through the store on the remainder of my lunch break. At approximately, 2:15pm, I was walking towards the garden center exit as it was closer to my work and to save myself a few steps in the nearly freezing temperature. As I approached the door, I was met with an associate that eyed me suspiciously demanded "is there something I can help you with?" I told her that I was walking back to work, I then zipped up my coat to head into the outside portion of the garden center, and she walked away. Once I reached the door, I realized that the door was locked, and I passed by the same associate that stopped me earlier. The associate did not say a word, as I passed, and knew well that the door was locked and had chosen to not warn me. Once I got back to work, I was called from my office when a co-worker said there was a police officer waiting to speak with me. The officer asked me to step outside the dealership and asked me if I had anything under my coat, I told him I did not and I was asked to remove my coat and sweatshirt in freezing temperatures. This was done in front not only my co-workers but in front of customers. I had not stolen merchandize nor do I have a history of such! I then called the store to complain about this act and was transferred to store manager "Heather." Heather was completely dismissive of my experience and expressed that "it was their protocol". I would like to know how this is a "customer first" attitude and furthermore, how following a person out of store with no evidence of theft, that had not even been confronted, and falsely accused is a "good protocol?" My concern is the poor customer service that I received from your associate and your store manager, but more importantly how and why it was appropriate that if they had concerns that they were not brought up in the store. The fact that this false accusation occurred and that a police officer followed me to my work and humiliated me at my job. This is in no way appropriate and such behavior would not be condoned at my workplace. If I were to so falsely accuse a customer, I would be looking at termination! Furthermore, I feel that I was judged upon my appearance (beanie, beard, winter jacket) as a person that looked like a "thief." I am outraged that this behavior is condoned and would like to see action as a result. While it likely will not make any difference to your store, after this incident I will no longer shop at this location and will encourage those I know to do the same. read more

Figured I would try them again tonight well the place was a mess and the pets was so bad it's pit full I used to be a regular customer of Walmart until October that's when it went downhill big time the lady that was the department manager of pets was a woman named Laura and she was great always polite and willing to help you but she was let go by the screwed up upper management this was told to me by several employees that was and still are mad over it well until they get people like her back there to work the store is screwed plus she had over 20yrs there and they will screw you over like that people call Walmart tell them to get that store straight read more

They say they have low prices and that they'll go lower than competitors. It's a complete lie. They also don't accept their coupons they supply. It was very confusing to me. They do have a nice selection of different things. They're short on shoes though, I believe they where better with shoes before it became a super center. read more

A Walmart is a Walmart, right? Low prices and you should be able to find what you need. For me, this Walmart is especially disappointing when I think about Sam Walton's commitment to great service. His legacy has been lost in that respect. Just know that service is nonexistent if you visit this Walmart. It is all about price. Be patient if you go. read more

This place is horrible. I've been standing in line for 45 minutes while waiting to pick up my mini fridge. The customer service representatives are unprofessional and this is an inconvenience to my day. I just want to pick up my fridge. #salty read more

First of all I had to pick a star I would not have given them anything! I was there yesterday. This really is the worst Wal-Mart ever...hands down absolute worst customer service experience you could imagine. I found everything I needed OK but when it came time to check out what a nightmare! They had a total of 5 (3 more than 20 items/2 less then) registers open with a line at ALL of them. The one i was in, I was 3rd to be up. She started to have computer problems and was looking for help from somebody. After standing in line for 15 mins the person in front of me took his four items off the belt and left after 5 more mins the person behind me with a full cart left it there and left. I look around none of the other lines have gotten better but only worse. I ask a person that works there to get management up front. Finally when a supervisor gets there to fix the register she tells me nothing can be done the is no one else to put on a register. A woman 2 people behind me ending calling from her phone to the store to get management up front and help customers check out. After 25 mins of waiting I pull my cart out of line proceed to customer service where I find a manager by the front door. I excuse my self and she rudely says she is busy! I just wanted to be acknowledged. I interrupted and tell her I will be the 5th person leaving (more probably left then that) because they have limited registers and that I had waited 25 plus mins to be checked out. I have worked 30 years in the customer service industry and have never met with such chaos. It has been my experience that management should step in and do what it takes to get the job done/ satisfy customers !!! read more

The customer service is pretty weak, but many of the customers are weak as well; a few heartbeats away from being zombies. The grocery part of the store has a good selection of meats, and low prices. For example, a large container of Peanut Oil is $3 cheaper than at Kroger, Teeter, Giant, etc.; some Spanish olive brands are $2 cheaper. They also have products like Texas Pete pepper vinegar (the one with the peppers in the jar)---@ $1.60 ea.---which I haven't found anywhere else in town, except for Food Lion. Additionally, the electronics department has $5 Audio CD and DVD bins---dig deep, and you'll find some great titles. read more

As follows are three examples of the horrible service I have received at the Walmart in Charlottesville, VA, within the time span of a few months. #1:I purchased a pair of logitech bluetooth headphones for roughly $90.00. I decide to return the item (we also purchased the extended warranty, thinking that this would allow us a longer window of time during which we would be able to return the item - as a precautionary measure).I walk in and take the item in the original box, with all of the original paperwork and related items, receipt included. Upon approaching the "customer service" counter, we are told that we can no longer return the item because we purchased the "extended" warranty.....wait, what? So, I ask to speak to the Store Manager. she tells me that "I was informed, upon purchase, that if I purchased the extended warranty, that I would only be able to return the item for a refund within the first 15 days, instead of the usual month...." - THIS DID NOT HAPPEN - I tell her this and she explains to me that "there are posted disclaimers regarding extended warranties throughout the "Electronics Department." So, I make my way back to the "Electronic Department," and I see NO DISCLAIMERS POSTED. Upon further examination, I do see one piece of paper regarding this particular policy, located in a random aisle, in a completely unobscue place.Nor was I informed of this when I was offered the warranty upon purchase at the checkout counter, as I was told by the particularly rude and inconsiderate Store Manager.I was appalled at the lack of communication initially and then after in the way that I was treated, as if I was supposed to know these things by osmosis. #2:I went to Walmart to fill a couple of prescriptions, on two different dates. Keep in mind that both of these prescriptions are controlled substances that I have been receiving in the same form and dosage for several years, all from the same doctor. I have had these prescriptions filled previously at this particular Walmart and also at other Walmarts and various other pharmacies. I am stating this because not only does every pharmacy in this state keep their own records of every prescription filled, but ESPECIALLY for controlled substances AND EVEN MORE SPECIFICALLY FOR SCHEDULE-II CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES.. In the state of Virginia, all SCHEDULE-II through SCHEDULE-IV Controlled prescriptions filled at any pharmacy in this state are stored and filed in a central database that can be accessed with a few clicks of a button from any pharmacy and/or doctor's office/emergency room/etc. Not to mention there's always the option of CALLING THE DOCTOR AND ASKING. So, the first prescription I go to get filled is my ADHD medication (Schedule-II), I drop it off and am told that it will be filled in thirty minutes or so and to check back to see when it is ready. I wait around until it is ready, we pick it up. I decide to take a look at the prescription bottle and notice that something doesn't look right. I look at the label and see that it has been filled with 20mg of medication instead of the 70mg that I have been getting for years, as it was written on the prescription.We immediately take it back inside and I ask to speak to the pharmacist to address the issue. One of the uncertified pharmacy technicians (I am a former certified pharmacy technician myself), tells me that she "THOUGHT" it looked like a "20" instead of a "70." This is the same excuse that I am given by the pharmacist....THE PHARMACIST - you know, the one in charge of the pharmacy...that he "THOUGHT" it looked like a "20."The statement, "I THOUGHT"implies that the person stating it has some level of doubt with their statement. The statement "I KNEW" would imply that there was no doubt about said issue. Now, let's assume that a person who might be my grandmother, or yours, has the same issue and doesn't notice the difference, except she is on blood-pressure medication. In that case, her dose would've been 3.5 times the prescribed dosage.Given what I just described, It would appear that the aforementioned scenario is highly probable, not to mention incompetent, unprofessional, unacceptable and a quite possibly FATAL error. #3:Picking up a (C-III) prescription,I was shorted medication, lied to on the phone, lied to again when I when I went to pick up my medication that I was shorted on Tuesday (I had called to address the issue as soon as I got home and was assured that if I came in on next Tuesday,all would be resolved).Imagine my surprise when I go to the pharmacy and they claim to have "no record" of this. I am them told by the pharmacist that I "should've asked who I was speaking to." Incorrect.They screwed up, told me it would be ready, and now are placing the blame on me for not taking the name of the tech.Also denied it entirely.Action is being taken with the BBB,VA Board of Pharmacy and Walmart.The ongoing theme throughout all of this is a total lack of accountability and utter incompetence! read more

I was ordering a bday cake for daughter and she has a bunch of rowdy cutomers granted there order was inaccurate but she was will to fix it and satisfy them. The 3 walked away after nasty comments. she smiled the whole time. very professional I played me order. She help me choose the right icing and was great, I ordered another one and she called before the 24 hrs to inform me order was ready. I am going to find her. and get name. I really rec. the bakery. If you can help it, avoid going to this Walmart. We went for a couple items and realized we needed another card to pay for it. We asked the employee if they can hold onto the things and we would be right back, which they agreed. When we came back 10 minutes later, it was gone. We tried asking a couple people if they knew what happened to the bag and received surly responses. Since we were not getting anywhere this way, we went back and found another set of the paint we needed but it was missing 4 paints (in fact, most of the paint sets were missing a few paints or were completely in bad shape. The one we got was the most in tact). When we went to buy it, we asked if we could have a discount because it was clearly not a complete set, and they refused. I echo past reviewers that this Walmart is cluttered, disorganized, and dirty as well. It was not like this 5 years ago but it has really gone down hill. It is worth your money and time to try a different store. Other businesses have much better customer service. read more

Ok so I know it's Walmart and I shouldn't expect too much, but I just want to share a little story here. I saw a set of ramshackle shelves jerryrigged together out of pegboard and cereal boxes(yes, really). So a take a picture to text to some friends in the hope they'll get a little chuckle out of it. I pick out a father's day card then come back to that end of the store for some chocolate. From behind me, I hear an employee ask, "Can I help you find something?" I answer candy, but she ignores my answer and says, "You think I don't know you've been walking around the store taking pictures?". She's obviously mad, like she suspects me of corporate espionage or something? I tell her what just I told you, but she doesn't get it. I try to show her the shelves but she doesn't get it. She just keeps angrily pressing me for information like "Why would you do that?" "What's wrong with those shelves?" "Why is that funny?". This goes on for a while. I answer all her questions but she's still angry, and hasn't even explained what she wants from me. I don't know if she wants me to keep explaining to convince her I'm not lying, or delete the pictures, or leave the store, or what. She doesn't say if the problem is that I'm being suspicious, or breaking some unspoken Walmart rule, or breaking the law. She's just berating me into trying to explain a stupid one-off joke. "That's not funny" she says. I have no idea what she wants from me at this point, because apparently all the answers I have to her questions are unsatisfactory. Trying to figure out why I'm being yelled at, I ask "Is it illegal to take pictures here?". She says yes(which is a lie, by the way). So in an effort to defuse the situation I tell her as politely as I can that I won't take any more pictures. Then she points me to the candy she was originally pretending to help me find. read more

I had bad experience with "greeter" who stopped me and asked to see my receipt despite the fact that I only had two bags and a jug of water not bagged. I had to dig back through my wallet produce the receipt as she was throwing around the apples I had in one of the bags, bruising them. Then someone comes along right behind me with all kinds of stuff-diapers, toilet paper, paper towels, a full cart and she didn't stop them at all. I felt very singled out and she was VERY rude. May not go back there again. read more

I hate to give a bad review, but for them I have to. Every time me or my wife are in there, the customer service people are a nightmare. I would go as far as to say do NOT site to store to this particular Walmart. Instead go ahead and site to store to the Ruckersville one (which has much better customer service). It is about 10-20 minutes away, but you will spend almost that much time extra in the store with their terrible customer service. It really is the type where they will sit there loudly chewing bubble gum and looking at you vacantly then go off in a huff if you ask them to do anything. read more

I'm disabled and I can say this is one of the rudest Walmart that I have ever been in. To start off with I was a Army Ranger and I understand you have to have discipline but what I saw with the store management was overboard the store manager is a woman called Heather and she talks and treats her employees like they are the enemy but she is not much better with customers. I needed help to reach something at the top of the shelf so I asked her could she help but I just got attitude from her plus she was making comments about me under her breath which she is most likely glad I didn't hear because I would have gave her a peace of my mind well after 30 minutes still no help so I saw her again so went back to her and ask again basically I was talking to my self. Another customer actually helped me and I went on my way shopping and of course I see that so called woman belittling another employee she has a very bad Napoleon complex then she goes to another manager and straight up lied about the other employee well I have honor so I did not buy anything from there and won't be back I will shop anywhere but there until something is done. I do feel for anyone that has to deal with that woman this is one veteran that won't be shopping at the C'ville store read more
