They had what we needed, but man the guy working at the cash register (I assume the owner) was quite grumpy.

Its location right next to Planet Fitness makes it incredibly convenient for a post-workout stop, whether you are grabbing something quick and healthy or planning meals for the week. Finishing a workout and walking into Wegmans feels like a reward in itself. The fresh foods section is excellent, with a wide variety of prepared meals, fresh produce, bakery items, and ready-to-eat options that make it easy to eat well without a lot of effort. The dine-in area is clean, spacious, and comfortable, perfect for sitting down with a quick meal or coffee instead of rushing out the door. This is a large footprint store, but it is well laid out and inviting, which turns a regular grocery run into more of an experience. There is so much to explore that it genuinely makes grocery shopping feel like a bit of an adventure rather than a chore. Between the convenience, quality, and overall atmosphere, this Wegmans is a standout and a place I actually enjoy going back to.

They go above and beyond to help out - last time, the worker even gave me a see-through container for my sandwich since I had mentioned I would be taking it on an airplane and she wanted to make my trip through TSA smoother. It's usually pretty busy inside, but there's always a lot to see and it never feels too hectic, so it's one of my favorite places to stop by when I can.

This review will be for one of their donuts and one of their subs…read more I wanted food so decided to try a sub from the deli department. I went with their whole sub deal where you get a whole sub for $8.49 which came to $9.16 after tax. On my sub I got turkey, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, Mayo and salt and pepper on whole wheat bread. This thing was MASSIVE. The picture I posted is only half of the sub. I had been wanting turkey all day and the taste did not disappoint. Ate half then had the other half the next day. For a sweet treat I went for one of their donuts. I got the chocolate cake donut with a thick chocolate glaze. Or maybe it was a chocolate sauce? Not sure. So the donut itself was a bit dry. Needed some milk which I didn't have but oh well. The chocolate topping was delicious. I ate the dry bottom part first so that I could taste more of the topping which worked out beautifully. Because the donut was kinda dense, I decided to only eat half cause I didn't wanna feel so heavy. Half was enough tho and I ate the other half the next day. I would 100% order more subs from there. They're delicious, HUGE and you get what you pay for. The donut.....I'd probably try a different flavor.

I likely have never given a grocery a 5 star review before, but yet here it is…read more Trader Joe's has been growing on me, although I only shop them sparingly in Virginia Beach. My daughter loves and introduced us. So with UVA move-in inexperienced a new store and was impressed. They offer nearby surface parking, but at peak times it's challenging. The lot is a bit tight and weekends congested. All good though and no debris. My Saturday experience on a UVA move-in would not be typical. So in my opinion it really tested them. It was crazy full, but still stocked. The staff was working hard to ensure customers had the products they needed. Many of the staff i encountered said hello and was working hard! Although Trader Joe's stores are smaller than traditional types of groceries like say Kroger they pack a ton into their space. TJ's is best known for their frozen foods and there has not been a single item I have been disappointed with. However like any product from Trader Joe's if you are not saturated shied bring it back for a refund, just keep the container and receipt. Checkout was smooth and cashier friendly. Bring your own bags and save some. My daughter will be a regular.

I have my favorite Trader Joe's items, and I was surprised how many of them were absent. But I certainly found things worth buying at a decent price. Their oat milk chocolate is really an excellent entry into the non-dairy scene, and I like having steamed lentils to add protein to my dishes. Even when I don't find everything I want due to limited selection, I don't find visiting one of these stores to be a bad decision.

I love Donna, Chad, Aniyah(spelling?) the blonde haired young lady, she has 2beautiful daughters & a very tall husband (she works mainly in the back and I can't remember her name!) she is awesome. There are so many great employees and I always feel welcome. The only small thing I was rather disappointed in was a young man, who I think was one of the butchers, he was wearing one of the white butcher coats. He was out putting packs of meat out in the displays, and he was not wearing a mask! I could see he had a guard for his beard (and that wasn't even on his beard at the time) but I was more concerned that he didn't have a mask on. He was wearing one of those plastic "sneeze guards", Which are great if you are in close proximity ti someone who spews saliva droplets from a sneeze or otherwise. A plastic shield does NOT replace a mask. They are supposed to be worn in addition to a mask. Despite this, I really recommend this Food Lion over any of the other local stores!!
