It looks like every other CVS except that it is Koch smaller- sort of like you have a rectangle store... a little difficult to find the items- i had to ask the employees to help me. I did sense some attitude when I asked if things were rung up correctly. It's hard to tell without looking at the receipt so no attitude necessary. It is a little bit odd that their were items there that the store Claire's sells . Otherwise I like using my extra bucks before they expire so I can get my rewards!

I stopped by here a few times during the summer of 2019, when I spent several weeks in Charlottesville on business. A few times it was to pick up essentials I'd run out of (e.g. contact lens solution or toothpaste), and once or twice I got a coupon that I wanted to use that was going to expire before I left Charlottesville. This location has slightly less convenient hours than most other CVS locations I've been to either in the suburbs of Maryland or in DC; if I wanted to pick something up in the morning before work, they only open at 8 AM so it was sometimes cutting it close to when I wanted to arrive at the office. The good thing was the store was never busy when I swung by in the mornings, so I was able to get in and out in a few minutes. Since it's located on the mall, there are usually a few homeless people sleeping around the store before it opens; they seem to congregate more in front of the CVS than any of the other shops on the mall. The first time I used my Google Maps for walking directions (my very first day in Charlottesville, when I wasn't at all familiar with the area), it landed me at the back door of the CVS, which is (understandably) not open, so just keep that in mind if you use a GPS and it takes you anywhere other than the main mall area.

A small but decent CVS. It's an "urban" location along the pedestrian shopping area in downtown Charlottesville. It still seemed to have all the stuff you'll need at a CVS including personal care and makeup and snacks. I was able to find an inexpensive case of bottled water to take with me and it rang up easy enough. It's A-OK.

The lack of proactive communication about this is so frustrating because there is often some step that I need to take that could've been communicated to me earlier. Of course this varies depending on your insurance or medication type. You can check this on an app to compare costs (can't remember the name). The wait time is usually 2-3 days once they receive the prescription which is not the shortest time but it's certainly not the worst either. UVA pharmacy at the main hospital does same-day fills, just get ready to wait in a line that'll take an hour. The actual lines at wegmans can take anywhere from 0-30 mins. Not bad. The drive through line takes a long time but that's normal with Walgreens prescription pickup. I'm sure the pharmacists are doing their best considering the long lines but inside takes a long time too. They are swamped in the pharmacy and don't seem to have many other regular shoppers since so many of their shelves are empty.

However, what is absolute worst is the service. The employees from the store and the pharmacy have zero desire of working there and it shows. Snappy, eye rolling, rude, hang ups when calling over the phone if you finally get them to answer their phones. An employee named Tracy, every-time she is at the register is rude, not a hello nor a good morning just gives your total with a miserable face. I can't forget to mention an employee that I was informed his name was David at the pharmacy, cause he refused to give me his name when asked. Seems he doesn't wear his name tag, if that was his actual name, he is a person with such a terrible condescending attitude when you inquire about your medications etc. They only get business because there are only 2 Walgreens in the city and they are far apart. I'm happy I moved from Charlottesville and get to visit a different Walgreens in my new city where they do know what customer service is all about. Save yourself a headache and visit a CVS while in Charlottesville.
