Placed an online order, vitamins included. I was trying to use my OTC. I did not know that Walmart use a third party trucking for vitamins of all things. OTC was not used even though they had the account number. When I tried to return they made it impossible. They added drivers tip also. I had no choice being unable to return it to the store. This is unfair and gives me pause as to how I'll use their store in the future. read more

I buy almost all of my groceries at this Walmart. Everything I need is almost always in stock. Once I bought some vacuum packed salmon that smelled up the house, so I would be careful of meat and fish purchases (I almost never buy meat or fish). Prices are noticeably lower than at other nearby grocery stores like Harris Teeter and Lowes Food. Fresh produce selection is adequate for my needs and yes it's fresh. Large selection of non-food items where I can sometimes find a needed gadget. Good selection of canned cat food at a good price. read more

Walmart has never been my favorite place but in the last 6 months it has become closer to a police state with the employees constantly watching you and hovering. It's not normal and should not be normalized. Cameras everywhere and employees staring at you. I've never stolen a thing in my life and will not be made to feel like I'm a criminal. The customer service at this Walmart is the worst that I have ever experienced. I bought a closet hanging rod and 4 hooks. Unfortunately, the rod and hooks did not end up fitting or being used. Upon returning them to customer service, the attendant gave me a very hard time. Even though I had purchased 5 items, the return receipt only showed 4 items since she missed one of the times for return. When pointed out to her, she wanted to argue and explain why it was missed. I just wanted my money back. A week later, my daughter went to return items and the same attendant did not want to give her a refund since she used the same tag for scanning all items instead of individually scanning each item. This particular Walmart is does not staff the Service Department for Returns or as relevant price overcharges. On October 13, 2023, I arrived at 5:50 pm, the Service Department was closed. There was no signage indicating why the Service Department was closed or when they would reopen, only black tape across the entrance. read more

Their stocking performance is _pathetic_. I just shopped there at 11AM on a Wednesday morning, and 3 or 4 common things were out of stock. The shelves in the meat department were almost empty. Apparently the company's incentives for their managers are to minimize inventory. Seems like they think they make more money by not selling you stuff. Weird. I read several reviews that praised this store for being so nice and having everything you want. That is soooo not true. These reviewers are on crack -- or are being paid to post good reviews. Just look at the overall rating of this store -- and shop somewhere else. Is Harris-Teeter paying the manager under the table to mismanage this store? If so, it seems to be working. read more

This place is a disaster. How on earth can they retain the manager? Almost daily they forget or do not know how to put cash in the automatic checkout. The corporation just doesn't care, about anything. Including cleanliness, safety, reputation... Today is the first time that I am going to say anything and that is; I am really disappointed that Walmart no longer offers hand sanitizing areas as you enter/exit the store. No masks, okay. No vaccines, okay. But, hand washing should never go away. (Especially given that most stores had dispensers built right into the floor. Walmart's is gone.) No dispenser, no handwipes. They had hand wipes pre-2020 in the cart area all of the time but, even those are gone. smh at Walmart. Kudos to the Dollar Tree who still provides it. And, I've not yet been notified that the pandemic is officially over sooo.... End of story, they just don't care. read more

This is a new Walmart in the area. I was glad to know we don't have to drive all the way to Durham to find a big supermarket. You can basically find anything you would in any other Walmart, in our case we came for a tie die kit and a few t-shirts. So disappointed by my experience here today. Do not come here unless you want to be told that you can't make your purchase or return an item you just bought by a rude employee, even though there is almost an hour until closing time. I have had fine experiences in the past and have shopped here weekly, but will not be returning again. One of the nicer Walmarts I've ever been to. Nice wide aisles inside and parking is always easy. Everything on my list, grocery or otherwise, has always been available. The store is clean and has an overall spacious feel. Checkout lines can be long, epecially when there's only ONE manned station as was the case the last time I was there. read more

Yesterday I accidentally left my purse in a shopping cart and drove away! I recognized my mistake soon after at the next stop! Horrified I drove back to Walmart and found the shopping cart empty! While I was walking into the store hoping that someone had turned it in, l got a call from my husband who had just spoken to security! They indeed had my purse turned in by a store employee who was parked next to me! What a blessing! I will not mention her name but it restores your faith in humanity! This is a Walmart. They have lots of stuff, like sporting goods, and food, and other exciting things. They have no individual Lego minifigs, which is too bad. The Target in Southpoint is full of those things, like 3 series' worth! There is also a toothpaste robot (well there was one there on 6/12/13). This robot is likely going to bring about Skynet, so they have that going for them. Actually getting in and getting out of this Walmart isn't too bad, so 3 stars seems about right. read more

For once, we were able to get in and out of a WalMart without having to wait in excessively long lines, however, the condition of the aisles, trashed, picked through merchandise, completely unkempt is a disservice to any store albeit seemingly the norm for most WalMart stores, this one included. Other Pluses: parking lot was clean, express checkout lane was actually quick, checker at the express lane was polite. Other Minus's: some of the lego sets were very overpriced. Being that one is in a WalMart does not mean one is getting the lowest prices. The same "City" sets priced at $1XY.ZZ at this WalMart can be found at the Lego Store at Crabtree for the regular everyday price that's $10 less, and are now on clearance for 20% off at the Lego Store. Listening to store employees complain to each other about customers who called them rude - save it for the breakroom or one's supervisor. I understand customers can be rude jerks, so as long as one is keeping it professional one shouldn't be hemming and hawing about it at the front entrance where everyone walking in and out can hear about it. Just another reminder of why I avoid most WalMart stores. read more

They are always backed up at Pickup service. I have yet to pick up groceries and not wait over 30 minutes. It's very annoying when you have to sit there for 45 minutes after getting off work. Either they are very slow or they need extra help at certain times of the day. read more

This Walmart is the worst. Back in the winter, I stupidly bought firewood from them. I should have realized it would never ignite since it was in the doorway during a snow storm, but I bought it anyway. When I tried to return it, they made me lug the slightly blackened, but fully intact wood back to the store. It made quite a mess in the car, they didn't refund all of the wood, and obviously they didn't care about the box of fire starters I wasted on their wood. Tonight, they charged me for two milks when I only got one. "Take it up with customer service," the at fault cashier says. "That's just what milk costs," retorts the customer service "rep" who then rolls her eyes. I go home and call the manager who apologized profusely, yet still I am overcharged. It's really not a big deal, but it's just so annoying to be losing money I worked hard for due to people who can't be bothered to hire people who care about their job even a little. read more

Unfortunately, I've given this location more chances than they deserve. Avoid the grocery pickup at all costs. Yesterday was the third time in a row that half of my items were missing from my order. Also, if my order was ready at a certain time; why am I waiting in my car for over an hour every time I pick up? Or to be told "come back tomorrow"? They are very unorganized, always say they don't have something (and then I go into the store only to see it sitting on the shelf). Ordered merchandise for curbside pickup. Told my order was ready. Got to Walmart and had to wait for a parking place. Then called the number on the sign- the answering machine said the mailbox was full. Called the main store number on the web and they sent me to the pickup phone line. That phone rang for over 10 minutes and n o one ever picked up. Called out to an employee standing by and she looked up the order. Ten minutes later she tried to deliver it to the car next to mine. I asked her to put it in the trunk. When I got home, 1/2 the order was missing. Called to store to get the rest of the order and they told me that the woman who brought the order out to me told me that items were out of stock. I never heard those words nor did she talk to be beyond noting that I wanted the order in the trunk. To talk it off, the woman in the next car told me she had been waiting 40 minutes and that she had come to pick. up her order the day before but left after 1 hour of waiting. She told me that two others had left after 1 hour of waiting. Sounds like the curbside pickup option is not yet ready for primetime. I won't be doing it again myself. read more

You wait there for 20 minutes finally have to walk over to the customer service desk, they call somebody stocking in the frozen food section to come over. And then the human bumbling begins. This is one of the worst Walmart's I have ever done business with. The store is in disarray most of the time looking like it has been trashed. The shelves are unstocked and in some cases an embarassment on presentation. The delivery service is a disaster from day one. Shelves are marked with the wrong prices or no prices at all or incorrect prices. Meat department most of the time something I do not even want to walk by let alone purchase from. Many other customers have the same complaints.Some produce old or out of stock. I rarely ever review anything but after years I had to do this. I visited two other Walmart's just to compare and there was no comparison. This is a pure management problem at this Walmart and Corporate seems never to address the problem. read more

I don't think I really need to give a description for Walmart so I'll review the customer service which typically gets a bad rap. This one in particular I have never had a bad experience. Everyone has been friendly and helpful. I asked an associate a question recently, he did not know the answer but his manager happened to be walking by so he asked him for assistance. The manager was probably the most friendly person I've ever met and even offered additional helpful information/pointers. The selection here is that of most grocery stores, still a good amount of natural/organic products but wouldn't be my first choice as those are my primary items I purchased when shopping. Also, there is a good variety of produce (organic included) and I've never had issues with the quality. They consistently carry a ton of UNC gear, anything you can think of and of course all other things you would expect from a Wal-Mart. It's your one stop shop. Now......... this Walmart is not immune to the never-ending "shortage of cash registers open" saga. Like seriously, this is Walmart's M.O. Yes I have to wait in line, yes there is a line at the self check out, yes there other employees walking around and you wonder why THEY can't open a register. Walmart as an entity has yet to crack the Morse Code to figure out the correct formula of projected customer to cashier ratio. With that being said, I think it's what we have all grown to expect from all Walmarts across the nation. Overall I like this Walmart and the customer service received. read more

Good: Tons of broad selection. Need groceries (basic)? Check. Need clothing (basic)? Check. Need a toy for the kid? Check. Allergy meds, potting soil, giftwrap, office paper? Check. Bad: Lines are persistently ridiculous. They might not look long but they will take foreverrrrrrrrrr. Then meet mediocre customer service. Regulars seem to take the self serve checkout direction, but I don't feel I need to work for the stores I shop at while I'm paying them. What always perplexes me is how many things are on shelves in wrong or unidentified places, which fits horribly with so many products having zero price-tags. Apparently they are well aware of this issue which is why they have product scanners here and there which will scan your item, then beep so loud the device could be used as mass protest crowd control piercing the eardrums of you and everyone around you, then tell you what your item costs. Head to Target, get a MUCH better experience. read more

WARNING: Never shop at this store unless you love to check out your groceries. Never more than one register open at night not matter if there are 7 people in line (that was the other night) each with carts containing over $100 in stuff. The self checkout has no place to put stuff so you can scan it - it was designed for checking out 2-3 items only. But you can always wait 25 minutes in line to check out. This store is not a real Walmart but a convenience store. If you shop here and get more than 2 items you will definitely regret it. Just walk around the store and you will also see hundreds of popular items out of stock - consider it a lucky day if they have your common favorites in stock. OPEN 2 DAMN REGISTERS AT NIGHT! DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE AFTER 6:00 P.M. unless you love standing in line. I did enjoy what I heard in the parking lot a month ago - two people were comparing what they had snuck through the self-checkout without paying. That is what this place deserves. read more

I wish I could give 0 or negative stars to this place. Grocery delivery service is sooooo horrible. It worked a couple of times but the other half, they don't deliver. Call customer service and they lie to you saying they are working on it. If you ever talk to the manager she is the rudest a'hole on the planet and doesn't give a crap about her customers. Today the poor driver waited for hours and they kept giving her the runaround as to why the groceries were not ready. Customer service says they are on it and the manager will call with a time. Produce is fresh and very reasonably priced. The store is clean. Check out has improved dramatically. Grocery pickup has been really terrific since it opened at the store. Occasionally, some growing pains but on the whole, the staff are great and helpful with helping me get groceries in the car. read more

This is your general run of the mill Walmart. Often in the clothing section they are out of clothes except for XXL. I go here often for the low prices. One thing I dislike about this place is that it'll they are going all Costco on you by having them check your carts. It is a waste of time.
