I recently bought an item online at Walmart.com. The item was on their website. My credit card showed a charge for Walmart. The item arrived and it wasn't satisfactory so I brought it to the Walmart on Highcross to return it. The customer service person said they could not accept the return because the item was delivered from a third party vendor. I calmly explained to her that it was ordered on their website and they charged my account. Didn't matter. Was told that Walmart acts as an intermediary. So, says I, they could act as an intermediary for the return. No. After stating my case several times and feeling my anger growing, rather than give into the anger, I chose to leave and pursue the matter with online customer service. Same results. Be forewarned: if you're buying online from Walmart with the idea that you could conveniently make your return to your local Walmart, guess again. It doesn't always work that way. read more

Pretty piss poor example of a super center. Always out of stock on the things I need, motor oil selection is low and mismatched (you can find one grade of oil in the single quart bottles, but not the 5qts and vice versa), the lot attendants don't do their jobs as there are very few carts in the store, the parking lot is poorly engineered, the self checkout lanes only have 2 bag stalls and no extra room but they don't have an item limit, etc etc. skip this walmart and go to the savoy store. read more

Of all the Walmart's in the world, this is the worst. It has to be, there's no way it can get any worse. Located on N. Prospect, in the "busy" part of town. That means alot of traffic at Walmart. Advice: don't park in the center lane as you drive in. It can be difficult to back out. Though it seems easy, I would suggest parking in another lane. The store offers up a full stock of groceries and other Walmart items you expect (clothing, electronics, home, etc). My most recent shopping here has been during holiday season, particularly Black Friday. I wait till a bit later to avoid the craziness. But if you wait to long, a number of items will be gone. read more

I have visited the auto service here twice recently and I have nothing but good things to say. Excellent service. I just stopped by to get my tires filled and a nice gentleman did it fast and very pleasantly. I would definitely recommend the auto service department to anyone who needs an oil change, tire change, etc. read more

Usually do not shop at Walmart, but when I visited this location a few weeks back I had a truly easy and convenient experience. Their employees were smiling, friendly, and helpful, and the boxes I needed were extremely cheap. The meat department lowers the price of meat the day before it expires, which is great. Only they don't always catch it all. Many times I find a package that should be marked down and it's not. I find a person and they get the pricing thing , change the price and it is all good. Generally a pleasant interaction. But not anymore. Oh there were times it was a long wait to find the person who could mark it down but that is fine. But the last few times all I have gotten is bogus excuses. Which is ridiculous. This is what Walmart does. I have always been polite, patient and cheerful. Tonight I was told that if it's not marked down its not marked down. That is an absolute refusal of customer service. I have realized for quite sometime that Walmart is not the place to go for GOOD customer service. The employees are bored and only interested in their assigned task. This was beyond that. This was an absolute refusal to provide ANY service at all. I wasn't polite this time. I was irritated. Not vulgar. Not profane. But I was visibly irritated. read more

The customer service at this Walmart Vision Center was the worst I've ever experienced. Despite receiving a voicemail from the store saying that my glasses were ready for pickup, the associate helping me insisted that I was not in the system, and then found a way to blame me for not providing her with enough information upon finding my glasses among a stack of new orders. This associate did not ask me if I was satisfied with my new glasses, nor did she offer to check their fit. I wasn't even offered a bag for all of my items. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this store, and will avoid giving them my business at all costs in the future. read more

Joke of an establishment, there must be over 70 employees in the store at this point in time with 16 check outlines plus all of the self check outs and only 4 lanes are open with a minimum of 15 people per line. minimum. absolute joke of a place. read more

My experience here was terrible. I spent an hour on the phone to speak to an actual employee. I went into the store to exchange a car seat I purchased, but I lost my receipt, and I had purchased the car seat from there. After being there for three hours going back and forth with customer service and the management. I just went to Urbana where they exchanged the car seat within minutes. I'd highly recommend the Urbana Walmart, or the Savoy one. read more

If you can avoid this Walmart, do so. This is the worst Walmart I have ever been to. I have never written a review in my life.. But I just cannot stand this place. Today i went buying simple things for my home and when I went to check out I was treated so poorly & mother was treated worse, my mom literally had 21 ITEMS!!!! The extremely lazy man said "it's only 20 items, do you have 20 items?" Couldn't even be a man.. Because he was being rude like that to my mom.. The last review of the Champaign Walmart was on the mark! I went there yesterday to get Mobile 1 synthetic oil 5w30. I found an empty shelf. This is the grade oil used by late model GM vehicles. Actually I found lots of empty oil shelves! So, then went over to get a box of Walmart brand crackers. Guess what! Another Empty Shelf. Then to get a bottle of Walmart brand Barbeque sauce. And of course another empty shelf! I told my wife, lets get out of here and find a real Walmart store. And we did! We went to Danville Walmart. Never again will we go to this so-called Champaign Supercenter until it changes it's ways. Either the Management doesn't care or the employees don't care or judging from the empty shelves, neither management or the employees care! Sad! You can not sell from empty shelves! Bad for the customer and bad for the store! However in all fairness. This was the first time we have ever shopped at this Walmart. we usually shop in Danville, Watseka, and Rantoul Walmarts. I can honestly say that we have never had even the slightest problem at any of these stores in over thirty years of shopping there.We buy everything at Walmart. Groceries, clothes, gifts, sporting goods, car needs, etc. and have never ever had a problem in all those years. We will continue to shop at Walmart stores and I hope the Champaign store gets with it and will be as good as other Walmarts in the near future. Walmart enjoys a top-notch reputation! Every time I go in there something that price on the shelf is different when I get it at the register usually a $20 difference I went there tonight to get shaving razors I saw an electric razor that said it was 999 the regular razor is worth $5 so I figured I get the electric when I get it to the register it was 2999 they tried to charge me full price for something that was on clearance for $5 regularly $35 they try to slip that stuff by you when I brought up the price of the electric razor the manager went back and looked for it saw that it was 999 on the shelf but said that she couldn't give it to me for that because in the computer it's 2999 it's a load of crap read more

ALVIDA in the bakery was so rude to us last week when trying to order a birthday cake. She told us we could not get a custom ice cream cake with the design in the case because she did not write on ice cream cakes and treated us like we were going to be in her way if we ordered a cake. We just left and came back the next day when a different associate made us the cake we wanted and was very polite, I cannot remember what her name was, but she had a much better attitude. This review is on that associate in the bakery treating us so badly. I have shopped at this walmart for years and it is mostly a pleasant experience. read more
