Was in need of a card table for a craft project so I decided to drop by the store. I was impressed by the cleanliness and organization of the facility. I was fortunate to find a card table, brought it home and when I began washing it off...I was shocked to see that there was no dirt, grime or residue on either the top or the legs! Employees were helpful, friendly, and all had smiles and a happy greeting. I plan to go back soon when I have more time to look around and take it all in. read more

Probably the worst customer service I've ever received in my life.. I typically have a very positive attitude going to thrifts and had high hopes. I found some nice clothes, but man the experience was terrible. The man working had a terrible attitude, audibly scoffed at me when I didn't want to buy a shirt. He even had a terrible attitude when I needed to use the bathroom. He was complaining the entire time. I understand not liking your job...but making other feel physically uncomfortable was beyond me. I am NOT an inconvenience in your store just by walking around. I went to check out and was looking at a shirt (debating on putting it back, giving it back to the cashier) because I noticed some stains. She had already scanned both of my items and then started pointing with both hands at the terminal as if she was telling me to "just pay already" with a nasty look on her face. I don't recommend going here at all. The people at this establishment need better training on CUSTOMER SERVICE. Maybe just some human decency and treating others with kindness. I will not be returning. Don't waste your time or your money here. read more

Was looking for a hair dryer - found one for $5!! I always buy my hair dryers at 2nd hand places cause why pay full price? Took it to the counter to pay. Three people behind the counter - not a one acknowledged me. Not even to say "be with you in a minute". Two other staff members were putting hangers on a rack and tidying up the carts close by. Still standing there..... eventually someone came to the register and proceeded to clean up the counter before checking my one item out. I'm not sure what this was all about- it was really rude. Had it been one person- a bad egg but 5 people ignoring a customer. What could I have done to deserve this? I can't think of a reason. Bottom line the service was atrocious and got home.... the hair dryer didn't work. The store itself was clean and had a wide variety of items which earned them two stars instead of 1. This store is so dirty, I would recommend never EVER taking young children here! Their floors clearly never get vacuumed as my 3 year old happened to drag a shirt on the floor and it came up covered in a thick layer of dust, dirt, and lint balls. There was broken ceramic by the kids section that no one thought important enough to pick up, and my child somehow cut her finger open while walking around a completely different area of the kids section. This store is a literal safety hazard. While there was a good selection of clothes, they really didn't seem to look over anything before putting it out. I found two children's clothes with huge holes in them (big enough to stick an arm through), and many others with obvious stains. I also wish they'd at least attempt to organize the clothes by size. The infant sections had older children sizes mixed in them, and vice versa. For a "boutique" version of goodwill, it certainly didn't feel clean or nice at all. read more

Didn't really care for this store. Like the Champaign store, when your locals are shopping predominantly at Walmart, Target, Meijer, and Kohl's...what do you think the donors are going to donate here. Cheap stuff. I didn't like the fact that I had to hunt down an employee for the washroom key only to find out they have 3 stalls in the washrooms! So, basically if one person is in there, no one else can be. I really didn't care for the fact that the cashier asked me if I wanted to round up to the next dollar. This is becoming common practice at Goodwill and I find it very mooch-y and basically saying that the money you spend in their store is virtually worthless. My purchase was like $10.78. When I said no, she asked me if she could keep the two pennies instead. No! Give me all of my change back! I wish Goodwill would cut this out and let donations be left up to the individual. read more

I typically leave here spending at least $20.00, but that $20 goes an incredibly long way. This time around I left with several name brand tops and a few brand new stationary items for the holiday season. They have TONS of brand new liquidated fall and holiday decor from Rite-Aid and K-mart right now. Ample parking, the store smells nice (compared to other thrift stores) and everything is pretty organized; albeit it overly stuffed in some departments. Friendly employees. My go-to Goodwill in this area. read more

This is my favorite Goodwill and I have been in a lot of Goodwill stores. It is well organized and clean. I really like the large boutique clothing section. The clerks are friendly and helpful. read more

This Goodwill location has a pretty good selection of items and their displays are very nice to look at. They have really wonderful seasonal displays and items available! The staff is generally very helpful and welcoming. There is one woman in particular who always seems to have a sour attitude and is not particularly kind to any customers, but other than her the rest are very nice. I love that Goodwill has 50% off days, but I swear they must go through and retag everything a different color before they put up the next day's color because every time I go I can only find a couple things of that day's color! I wish they had more electronics at this location (computer parts, speakers, DVD players, etc.) because I haven't really seen any other than some kitchen gadgets. They have a decent selection of men's clothes (make sure you also check the "boutique" section for men's clothes!). I agree with some other reviews that clothing prices can sometimes be pretty high. They have a blanket pricing for all clothing items, which I don't think necessarily works. I've seen some pretty beat-up clothes go for the same price as very nice ones, which doesn't seem equal to me. read more

I just went today and I must say that the customer service there was extremely rude. First of all, the table cloth I bought had two price tags. Without even really asking, she just said the item must be higher priced tag and started scanning the bar code. I was a bit blown away by this but in the end it was just $.50 difference so whatever. As soon as I walked out, I realized that the table cloth has stains so went back and asked her if I can exchange for the other one. She immediately said no saying it's written in the receipt. I mean it is my fault that I did not check thoroughly before checking out but I don't think she had great customer service attitude. It was clear she was annoyed/did not give a shit. I won't be going back especially considering their selection was not even that great. read more

Apparently, this store is fairly new. I knew about the one on the North side of town. But this location is much more convenient for me. Overall, the store is clean and pretty well organized. I was primarily shopping for clothing and I didn't really find there to be a good selection. I did end up with a couple items, but there were both Illini gear that I got just cause. lol. I also purchased a couple books and a few pieces of jewelry. My mom scored big time with Christmas decor. She was also disappointed about the clothing selection though. Staff are super nice for the most part so that is great. read more

Until Today, I have never had any issues at Goodwill in Savoy. I have spent hundreds of dollars there and donate ALL MY OLD STUFF THERE, and I know the return policy, however I bought a cheap pair of sunglasses today, and realized they were broken on my way out of the store, so I tried to swap them for an unbroken pair, and the old gray haired woman who's name excapes me at the moment, said she could not exchange them and implied that I was being dishonest about them being broken! I said are you trying to say I am lying about 2 lousy dollar sunglasses? Then I asked if you want to lose a customer over cheap sunglasses, and they apparently wanted to so I gave them back the broken sunglasses and they lost my business for life over 2 DOLLARS, WOW, this lady is the worst cashier I have ever encountered and hopefully Goodwill will see this soon before she chases away anymore good customers that spend good money and donate tons of good stuff. They also never gave me a receipt and they fumbled through the trash looking for it with her manager as I walked away angry without any sunglasses or an apology for being called a liar. read more

I used to come here to scout books. Clean, well lit, well organized, always good stuff to pick through. Clothing prices are a bit high though. Definitely a fun place to spend an hour or two and leave with some new treasures. read more
