I like this walmart because it's convenient it's literally a 5 min walk from my house! If I need anything they always have it! Their pick up feature on the walmart app is super convenient they always get the correct items! The staff is friendly compared to other locations I've been too. Coming here can be hell, but what Walmart is perfect? My main gripe is parking. I haven't checked out the lower portion of the parking deck because it's a pain in the pass to find. You have to drive around the side of the building. It's easiest to park upstairs. That is, if you can find parking. Could they make it any more difficult to get in and out? There's no entrance on Clairmont... there's no entrance on Peachtree Industrial (or whatever it's called at this point in the road). If you don't turn early you miss it. I don't recommend making a U-turn because it's illegal and cops are everywhere. They seem to love ticketing people that used to turn left out of the parking lot. Now barriers are installed in the middle of the road, but I would imagine there are still some people who think you can drive around. Oh, and Christmas stuff is available in the Garden Center (for those of you looking to shop early). read more

What a freaking mess. I was on the way home from a late dinner around 10:30pm and decided to stop by Walmart to refill some of my toiletries for a discounted price. I arrived to several open parking spaces, which is very rare. As others have mentioned, you should just head straight to the deck at any time of day because of the lack of parking in the tiny lot. This is probably due to the fact that more than one person shops at Walmart and other stores in the plaza like Sally's Beauty Supply, Mattress Firm or Five Guys. I tried to make a return on batteries I'd bought a month ago, as they were the wrong type and I no longer needed them. I showed up to the dark customer service room, stood around for a couple minutes before pulling aside a passing stocker, who told me customer service closed at 10pm. Fine, I guess I'll just pick up my toiletries. I walked past a rapidly building line to pick up some contact solution, and realized I would not get out of Walmart before midnight if I waited with them. I had to walk all the way around the closed in section to get to the self check out area, and as I approached a scanner, the lady manning the self-checkout said they were closed. What. A. Trend. Walmart, you BAFFLE me. If Walmart closes at midnight, why is everybody already shut down at 10:30?? Frustrated, I walked out. Ignored a couple "hey babies" from men sitting on the curb (why are they just hanging out at Walmart on a Thursday night?) and rushed to my car. What a failed trip. I shop at many Wal-Marts as I travel a lot. This one is slightly below average and that is all due to the management. Lack of good old fashioned customer service training.....it's almost non-existent here. There seem to be many employees wandering around, mostly slowly re-stocking shelves, etc. But I've asked employees for assistance on numerous occasions....and this is where things really fall apart. Last week, I was looking for Fels-Naptha bars of soap....which the website said were in stock. The first employee, "sorry, that's not my area". 2nd - "it should be with the bars of soap over in the pharmacy/drugstore/medicines area". Wrong - I wasted 10 minutes looking there - since they told me to go there. 3rd - "Why don't you just order it on-line and pick it up later?" - Really? I finally found it on my own. It's in the laundry detergent area. Another time, I was trying to ask a question of an employee (and they were playing with their phone and not minding me at all). Sam Walton is turning over in his grave somewhere. And this is NOT on these employees altogether.....it's on the MANAGERS. They have to teach them. Thank You. read more

I was forced into ordering curb side pickup from this location, due to the fact the one closer to my house was not accepting pickups at the time. Once I was at the location and had checked in to let them know I was here to pick my order up. I then get the notification that "some" of the items in my order had been cancelled. I get to the store to find out 1. There is no "curb-side", you actually have to get out and go into the store and scan your phone at a kiosk and wait for a person to bring you your items. 2. "Some" of items being cancelled in fact meant EVERYTHING but 2 items. My card has still been charged the full amount for my entire order, not to mention even though it WAS ONLY 2 ITEMS, I still stood there and waited for 10 minutes waiting for the associate to bring them to me. Needless to say, going forward I'll over pay with Targets prices before I shop at this Walmart again. read more

Lost my photo order submitted 11/9/20 and was supposed to be ready 11/17/20 and didn't tell me until I had called three times asking when it would be ready 11/25/20. I resubmitted it again. When I called to see if they had received it, it took 40 minutes of calling to even get someone to answer the phone after which I was placed on hold for another 45 minutes until I gave up and hung up. Sitting in the check out line for 15+ minutes is ridiculous. There are 2 lines operating with at least 6 employees in the vicinity and that is including 2 managers, they were just leaning against a box display talking. The check out lines there are always ridiculous and I constantly see female employees hanging around talking to each other. I've had to ask multiple employees about items and they either don't know if they carry "it" or don't know what I'm asking because English isn't their first language so they go ask another employee to help while I stand there waiting... And don't get me started on the parking, yeah they have a lower deck but it's scary, there's typically homeless/panhandlers loitering and half the time the escalators are not working. So I called this dump last night after reviewing their selection of collar shirts online. Needless to say when I got all the way to the store NOBODY was able to help me find a white faded glory collar shirt (which I've bought before at Walmart) I asked 3 ladies near the dressing room talking loud on their phone and popping gum (yes employees) and they told me they only had them in little boys sizes and I should "look over there somewhere." I found another employee to assist me and she sent me to hardware saying "adult uniform shirts would be in hardware" puzzles (because I've worked at Walmart before and never have we kept the shirts in hardware) I still followed her direction and walked all the way across the store. Standing at the hardware counter 25 minutes before an employee came to assist (me & 5 others) when I asked her about the shirt she said "idk why they sent you over here that was stupid,you need to go to apparel" I went to customer service to ask a manager but there were 36 people waiting to be seen, 1 freaking line and a group of cashiers just standing around chit chatting. Upset I just walked out and left As a former Walmart employee I am so disappointed in this particular store and how it's ran. Everyone working here is grown, lazy, disrespectful, doesn't want to work, doesn't care about the customers etc and that's a damn shame, not to mention the men that sit outside the door all day whistling and grabbing at you as you walk in or out. Today I had, by far the worst Wal-Mart experience ever. I stopped in to grab a gift for our company's white elephant gift exchange. I'd looked at some stuff online to figure out kinda what I wanted as I was on lunch. Walked around a bit and was unsuccessful in finding any of the online options I had considered. Then I saw a staff member and asked if they had X or where I might find it if they did. She mocked me "can I can I can I ask you a question". I bit my cheek and politely asked her "I don't know about online. You should ask someone". OMG! Guys I'm not lying cause I know this sounds unbelievable. I should have just walked out of the store at that point. I continue my search for a fun gift. I'd seen a guy that appeared to be a manager a few times now as I have walked the store 6ish times at this point. He did tell me where I could find them if they had them. The exchange was short and more than dismissive and pretty rude. Whatever I found what they had which wasn't what I wanted and grabbed so random crap gift. Now starving, and apparently looking to further eff up my day, I go to the hot counter and get some ranch wing and potato wedges. Potato's were cold and discussing. Terrible experience when I ordered curbside pickup and arrived to pick up my order on a Saturday afternoon. There were not enough curbside parking spaces, so all of them being occupied was my first indication of trouble. I checked in and while I was in my car waiting, a nearby regular spot opened up so I parked there. After waiting a long while and not seeing a single associate bring out an order to anyone waiting for curbside, I decided no problem, they're probably short staffed, let me just run in and grab it since I had somewhere I needed to be. I went inside to customer service who directed me to the pickup area near lawn & garden. While waiting for an associate to come out to assist me, I met a friendly couple who had come on in like me, and had gotten some of their order but not all of it and and had been waiting a long time for the rest to get pulled. We all waited a long time and not a single associate came by to even acknowledge me or ask what I needed. After waiting a long while here, I decided to throw in the towel and just go grab the main two items I really needed, checkout myself, and leave (which took me under 10 minutes total). Bottom line, don't waste your time with pickup orders at this location. They are clearly short-staffed and without a system. It literally takes less time to just shop and checkout on your own than to wait on a pickup order being brought out to you. read more

Not only are they not open 24hrs, their lines are a mess and even self checkout is unbearable as you cannot tell beforehand which registers take only cash or only credit. How many Wal-mart customer service staff does it take to screw in a lightbulb? Answer: Trick question, no amount of Wal-mart staff will ever screw in a lightbulb, or wait on you in customer service. This store is cleaner than Tucker, which isn't saying much, but I'll give it that. Hence 2 stars. 1 is reserved for the Tucker store, the most depressing place in the U.S. Forget the Chamblee store having items in stock or having customer service staff that will actually wait on you. I stood in a line of 5 or more people waiting for returns, orders, etc. 4 employees were standing behind the counter, none of them worked within any definition of the word. One was standing in the corner pretending to put things away, but nothing actually went anywhere. Bad performance trying to fake looking busy. One woman was at a register, turning tags over and over. I guess it was a return. Who knows, nothing happened. Line didn't move, people would just give up on the line and leave. More hapless people would get in line, no one moved forward. At one point, the employee did toss stuff over her shoulder towards a cart that appeared to be for returns, but it didn't land in the cart. Then, as slowly as possible, she picked it up to throw and miss again. Keep in mind the cart was less than a foot away, and she could have efficiently placed the item in the cart instead of throwing stuff all over the area for no reason. But then, that would have been productive, which appears to be against store policy. Another Wal-mart employee was standing next to cash register lady, and apparently her job really was to look over someone else's shoulder. She just stood there, mouth gaping. She didn't do anything to help, just stood there staring at the other woman flipping tags. Like a statue with a gaping mouth. A fourth guy was kind of wandering aimlessly behind them. He looked like a manager. Several of us customers / service hostages tried to catch his eye. The minute one lady successfully got his attention, he spooked like a frightened deer and ran off. To where, who knows, could still be hiding in the plastic container section to this day. He didn't help anyone. After 20+ minutes of absolutely no movement in the line whatsoever, I just left. I waited at the Site to Store pickup area for 30 minutes, asked five employees for help, had more than 10 employees pass me without asking if I needed help. Finally 5 minutes before the store was supposed to close at 10 o'clock one employee said, "I'm on my break" while she read a magazine and walked into the employee break area. The other employee that was with her said, "I'm supposed to be going home, and the store is closing". I told her that I had been waiting for 30 minutes and I would NOT leave the store until I picked up my package. So she reluctantly went to the register and found my package in less than 5 minutes. They don't have the greatest selection and the employees border on imbecilic at times. For example: during Christmas I purchased a board game that was on sale. When I got to the register it rang up full price. I told the cashier it was on sale. She called the manager over, I walked the manager back to the toy section to show her the sign and she still didn't believe me. She called corporate office to ensure the game was indeed on sale. Are you joking? Actually, I'm the imbecile for sitting around for that charade. I should have left and caused a scene on my way out. The only reason I come here is because its closer to my house than the Ashford Dunwoody store. At times though, I've dealt with the mall traffic to avoid giving this store my business. First, let's get two things straight: I don't expect great customer service at Walmart; I go there for the prices. And habitually-bad service at the Chamblee location (long lines, too few cashiers, clueless technology associates) culminating in today's downright ridiculousness demanded a review. Sorry in advance for the long post. If you're not going to read the rest, let me sum it up: Completely inept and/or indifferent employees and one of the most weirdly-bad customer experiences ever. Date, 3-8-2011, around 7PM. Girlfriend's TV dies. Go with her to show two options I preselected. She chooses the Samsung 40 inch IPTV for $690--200 bucks less than the original. A polite, but clearly undertrained female associate comes by to help, and has difficulty answering basic technical questions (Does it come with a WiFi adapter?). Goes to look for unit in back. A senior associate (female) says, rudely, the TV isn't that price. She corrects herself after I show her the advertised price. Seems to be confusion over the SKU. Some 20 minutes later, we learn it's out of stock. (It's a special display item, located in the front...Shouldn't they know this already if they work in the TV section?) They offer no follow-up, like "Do you want to know another store where it's located?" Or "Do you want to know when the next shipment is coming?" We have to prod it out of them. They eventually find one far away. We decide to wait. Two days later, on 3-10-2011, I call the Chamblee store, and talk with a young guy named Rashad (sp?) and ask him if the TV had come into stock. After searching for 10 minutes, he says yes. I ask him if he saw it with his own eyes. He assures me he has. At around 1:30, an hour after I talk with Rashad, we arrive at Walmart. The original polite but undertrained female employee searches for the TV in the back. Ten minutes-plus later, she says the only TV is a return and that she can't sell it. Enters Rashad. He explains, indifferently, that he didn't realize the TV was a return when he said he had one. They offer no follow-up. (We both took off from our jobs to come here). Rashad asks me, clearly annoyed, "What do you want me to do about it?" I answer him with a question, "How about you tell me what you recommend we do, because we want to purchase this TV?" No answers. We ask to page a manager. 10 minutes pass. Plenty of employees around, no one going out of their way, some looking at us as if we had three heads. We ask, they say they don't know where the manager is. So, we give them our number for the only manager working, the cashiers' manager, to call us. She never does. Still don't have a TV. Going to Best Buy. read more

As typical with many Walmart stores, there are never more than 6 checkout lanes open- leaving the other 10+ lanes there to taunt all the customers. *Tip* Save your time and sanity! There is a Walgreens less than a mile down Peachtree Ind. toward 285. There is also a CVS nearby on Ashford Dunwoody. If you go for Walmart's grocery prices, I suggest shopping early morning on a weekday to avoid a major headache. read more

Walmart is Walmart is Walmart. Having said that (3 times fast), going from the one on Pleasant Hill in Duluth to this location has resulted in my needing to adjust my expectations, which I have done pretty well. I find the things that I used to find at the other Walmart (and other suburban locations) but I am made aware that I am inside the Perimeter. But this is the tradeoff and I am not complaining (too much). One thing that annoys me from time to time is getting chatted up by uncouth, self-congratulatory men. This happens with much lower frequency at the suburban stores. What I do love about this location is the parking deck. Do yourself a favor and just go directly to park there. Besides guaranteeing that your car seats will not burn your thighs, there is an abundance of spots in the garage. There are elevators and escalators to get you up to the store and don't worry about hauling your cart back down. There are Vermaports (I just Googled this and learned the term for the first time a few seconds ago), which are shopping cart conveyors, right alongside the escalators. Trying to find somewhere to park in front of the store usually means wasting time, as the parking lot is shared by the various other storefronts in the shopping plaza (i.e., RadioShack, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Metro PCS, American Deli, Game Stop, Mattress Firm). Within the last month or so, this store installed a self-checkout section, which is a godsend. Like all other Walmart locations, this one can get maddeningly busy during peak hours (after work, on the weekends) so the lines seem to move a bit faster now that the self-checkout registers are available. Friendly enough service and produce, if you go early enough, can be decent. While I get most of my weekly groceries from nearby H Mart, I pick up things like milk, coffee (Café Bustelo), dish detergent, and batteries from here with no issues at all. read more

Ridiculous! So the store supposedly opens at 6:00am. We get there at 6:05 am and we are left at the front door waiting on someone to come open the door. Five mins later we see employees inside the store congregating amongst themselves right in front of us as if we weren't even there!!!! Furious I bang on the door and that's when the employee came to the door and opened it with some stupid excuses. By this time we were livid! So we are shopping in the store and not 5 mins pass by the store manager walks up to us with apologies and a offer for a $10 gift card to be left at the front for us when we go to Check out. We get to the check out and the cashier knows nothing of the discount. Another manager comes to see about our situation and she has an attitude with us about it. WTH??!! WORST WALMART I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! I had a horrible experience trying to buy a TV, the elder "saleman" in electronics said they were all the same, and didn't know what he was doing. I bought some gym shorts that were too big, I simply wanted to exchange them for a smaller size, I waited in line for 15 minutes!! Tons of "employees" came out of the back, I asked some young employee to help, he rudely said "There's nobody else" and walked off. Welcome to Wal-Mart! Too bad you can't shop here. Okay, so: I'm physically disabled, which basically means that some of the time I use a wheelchair and some of the time I use crutches. We just moved to Brookhaven, and Target is now farther than a hop, skip, and a jump from us. I had found Wal-Mart's corporate morals troubling before this experience, just to give you full disclosure. So Ben and I head to Wal-Mart about two weeks ago. At this particular location, there's an underground parking garage. I did not have my crutches with me this night, so I was using my manual wheelchair. However, much to my "dismay", once I wheeled myself up to the closed elevator door, I saw a sign reading the following: ELEVATORS BROKEN. PLEASE USE STAIRS OR ESCALATOR. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. So... what you're telling me is that if the elevator had gotten me into the store but broke while I was shopping, I'd have to... what? Hurl myself down a hill? Handicapped people need to buy cheap shit at three in the morning too! Oh well, I guess I will have to wait until some other big-box retailer opens at 8 a.m. I will never go to this or any other Wal-Mart ever again as a result of this experience. Love, Jodi read more

I wish there were negative stars just because of this store. This is the worst Walmart location because of many reasons. There has been several people begging money at the front doors and management did not even care, their sale items don't come up has the price marked on the tag and the cashiers don't know and/or won't correct the price (I have has both happen), the 20 items or less lines take far to long because the people in line have full buggies and the people working the deli are lazy good for nothing assholes!!! I see more people cut in line, not know how to use WIC vouchers and rude screaming children with the no parents or ones that don't care in this store than any other one I have ever been to including Walmarts in other states. I wish they would close this store and open a Kmart in its place or at the least being corporate in for store and management make over!!! Only 3 lines open for 60+ customers causing a 30 minute wait to check out, with self-checkout closed and blocked by a bench. Two of the three staff members we interacted with were rude. On a rainy day, ALL the elevators were broken. If you're able-bodied, that means you park in the underground garage and take the escalator ("sorry for the inconvenience", said the sign). If you use a wheelchair, that means your choices are: (1) get soaked on the way in and again on the way out, or (2) don't shop at Volde-Mart. We've shopped at this location before. They're the only place I know that carries Herr's Potato Chips (including a rather addictive Heinz Ketchup flavor). But the last experience we had there was being insulted that they couldn't get a single goddamn elevator working, and didn't even THINK about people unable to use an escalator. They could have said "Park upstairs; our greeter will watch the disabled spaces and send out someone with an umbrella". They could have said "If you're unable to use an escalator, we apologize that we cannot serve you today". But what the sign said instead was "Please use the escalator." RAAAAAAAAAAGE read more

Customer service at this location is awful. Came in today to get a few household items. The lines were CRAZY. So we went to the electronics area like I've done on several occasions to check out. We were turned away because they weren't "allowed" to do checkouts in the back. Then the guy tells us well if you had fewer things we would. As if our cart was full. I guess the pack of paper towels and tissue seemed like a lot to them. Stop understaffing your stores. At this point in time shouldn't the Walmart team know their numbers and be able to staff accordingly. One of the reasons I prefer shopping Target. read more
