I think in my 65 years of getting meds, I have never met a more comforting pharmacist than Dewayne Chapman. He gave me advise on insulin that saves me thousands of dollars a year. . Every year they check my meds to see which plan pays the best and most. This also has saved me money and gotten a better quality of drug, for the same price. I was then advised to "just call around to see if someone else will fill it, because they aren't going to." I'm a strong believer in supporting local businesses. My husband, family and friends all use Mabank Family Pharmacy. (Though, as of today, my husband will no longer) This decision was made not by them simply denying my prescription, but by the way it was handled and how they went about it. Instead of further discussing this concern, and maybe as a courtesy filling my prescription this one time and letting me know that moving forward they won't be able to, due to the cost, they instead denied my medication that I critically need without any disregard to my health. I find it ironic, that on their website it states "We go above and beyond to make sure our community is taken care of the same way we would treat our own family." It's hard to believe that they would in fact treat their own family members this way.

Why does my doctor call in prescriptions and this store determines whether or not to fill…read morethem??!!?? My doctor called in three prescriptions. They filled one. My husband went back up there to pick up the last two after asking them to fill them again.... Again... one was ready.. we had to ask for the last one and they wanted to give me flack stating "ma'am we are about to close" and "we don't have ur insurance" (after just picking up meds using insurance the week prior). Then she says "you can use the GoodRx price". I finally just gave in and said "fill the dang things I don't care what it costs I have been without meds for two weeks". What do people do at this place when they have truly life threatening conditions!!??!! Ohhhh. And guess what.. when I husband gets there to pick them up.... They don't fill them again!!!!
