I had spoken with Jen before hand and explained that my friend could not use drops as he had a very allergic reaction to them that had put him in the emergency room before. She said if they could not examine him without drops she woud let us know before hand. We got there on time, filled out papers and then another women who worked there told him that they would not see him without using drops. That is very unethical. My friend has been blind for years with cataracts and we were so looking forward to him getting help. They should have let us know before driving all that distance.

Heaton Eye Dr started billing me for a visit…read morethat they coded incorrectly to my insurance company and I sent in three different times, information to show where my insurance approved the visit however the eye dr billing did not code it correctly. Because they didn't want to correct it on the eye Dr side they decided to send my bill to their collections company to collect the amount because they didn't want to be bothered with fixing it and resubmitting it correctly. Poor patient service for sure. Will never use them again nor recommend them to anyone to use. Their billing dept even said at the end that they had been having issues with their billing and were trying to fix those issues and with the collections dept. . Well you lost a patient at the patients expense. I have never had anything go to a collections and for no reason or warning either. Poor customer service. Shame on Heaton Eye. The kicker was the other bill from my first apt. Was coded correctly and my insurance covered it just fine. The woman I spoke to this morning said yeah she saw that but still was fine taking my money instead of resolving their error on their end. Shameful at best........

I have been wearing glasses for 20 years and contacts for 12 and I have never had such a bizarrely awful experience such as this one. Obviously there was some scheduling mishaps. As soon as I walked in, maybe 8 minutes late, (their building is hidden behind a giant tree,) it was "we don't have time for this" or this, etc. Mrs. Robson acted as though I was 45 minutes late and she was very abrasive and rude to me the whole time. Frantic, frazzled, unprofessional the whole time, at one point 10 seconds into the eye pressure puff test she shot up from her chair and exclaimed "Just nevermind"!! And stormed out of the room. Not only is that rude and disrepectful, whatever that test checked for she could care less if I was at risk since she clearly didn't have time for me. Then the contacts. She switched the brand of contact I've been wearing for years to one that cost 4 times more without telling me the price hike. Her receptionist was unsmiling, rude and even pushy. They kept trying to push me to buy my contacts from them, even though I told them I like using 1800contacts and I get a better deal. After I tried buying the new contacts and finding out about the price, I called to get them to switch to my old brand and they still tried to force me to go through them and buy the new expensive brand, and I had to tell them NO again. Thankfully I was able to get my old contacts through 1800contacts finally. I would never recommend this office. Very unprofessional and rude staff.

The other reviewer seems incredibly rude just by reading her review, and if mrs. Robson behaved that way she was probably being truthful in that the woman was late and not cooperating with her. This is a very quick and easy office, if there's a problem here it's probably you.

Sounds good since they want to charge me 200 to just sit in the chair and I want new glasses anyway. OK, so the gal behind the counter explains to me that even if I buy the glasses right there, the same visit, this place considers it a different transaction and will not honor what the insurance promises. EVEN THOUGH, the glasses are right there, FOR SALE. Good grief! But these folks claim it is a different transaction, so it is actually impossible for me to claim I am buying the glasses at the same time as I get the exam, even if that is exactly what I was doing. What a complete ripoff!
