This Walmart is the closest to me , however I dread going here. When the reviews on here say it's ghetto they aren't kidding ! It's always dirty and the employees are either lazy , don't speak English or are just plain rude ! They do not honor their prices nor do they respect their customers. This store also has a severe over crowding issue. It feels like it's in the middle of the city! Also do not expect a price scanner to be where there is a sign because you will find they are ripped off most of the walls. You may turn into a corpse waiting on line as all of their cashiers take their sweet time ringing you up. By sweet time I mean it takes them at least ten minutes per customer regardless of amount of items. They also feel the need to study their nails or phones between ringing regardless of lines. Don't even think about returns because that also will take around an hour minimum. Lastly the bathrooms are some of the dirtiest I've ever seen for any store. They even are worse than the ones in penn station. read more

Deserves no stars. This place is a fucking mess. Go there at night you will find over well over thirty workers. Just chilling and hanging out meanwhile theirs a million boxes in the way. Asked about five people for help. They either spoke no English and had no idea wtf we were asking for or didn't know where it was and got rude. Felt like the workers were actually going to fight us because they're that ghetto. Twice. This place should be shut down and have a target here. Spent an hour going around in circles. Pharmacy is horrible! Went to pick up a prescription. I was told ten minutes. After half an hour I was asked what my name was. I was told ten more minutes. An hour in I was called up and the pharmacist loudly responds how much my prescription will cost and if I can afford it. I said to fill it. At an hour and a half of waiting I was told that my prescription was not in stock and I could get tomorrow!! Didn't offer to see if another store had it. I said to forget it and the pharmacist became even more rude I will never support this store again. read more

Worst Walmart ever!! I received a gift card to Walmart and went to use it and it still had all of the money on it and it wouldn't let us use it online so we went to use it in store and we waited at customer service to try and get our money back but they wouldn't let's us so we got up to the cash register with a lot of money in items and we tried to use it and the card kept on getting declined than I tried to ask for the card back to check the balance and he said no you can not the he took the card to customer service and said this is not our problem! Attitude of Associate at pharmacy is so awful. Like we beg you a pill. We don't owe your money ugh...

So infuriated. Service sucked and no one spoke English, had to run around the store like a chicken without its head to find someone to help me get someone to the department I was interested in. When they paged someone not a single soul was in sight for over a half hour. I then continued to scout the store to find someone with any intelligence to help me, just to find out that the product I was searching for was broken. TOTAL WASTE OF MY TIME!!!!!!! I seriously hope that someone closes this Wal-Mart because this is not the only thing that's wrong with this place. There isn't anyone on the floor helping customers, not a single associate is willing to help, NO ONE SPEAKS ENGLISH, and worst of all when you're looking to checkout you have to wait on a ludicrous line for some unintelligent cashier to scan your items in lala land. They emailed me that one hour photos were done and when I got there assistant manager stated person did not show up which was frustrating because other Walmart's when they have an issue like that mark themselves as unavailable which would have saved me two hours of time. Assistant manager also tried to blame the fact that this happened on corporate which was incorrect. If he really is running the store he is responsible. Young African American lady behind returns desk jumped in and found photos and finished them. She would have made Sam Walton proud. read more

I honestly don't understand how the Walmart corporation lets this store exist. I've only lived in the neighborhood for four months, but I will no longer go there. The store is *always* a mess, disorganized, and feels dirty. The employees won't look at you, much less actually help you. Finding someone is *always* a challenge, and when I do find someone, every time I've asked for help, I'm led to the wrong place, told they don't sell that, stared at like I'm not speaking English, or they have to find someone else to help me. The lines are ridiculous, even on the self-checkout (which this Walmart clearly uses to not have ANYONE on the registers). Twice, the front end manager(?) was so busy talking to another employee about her family/nails/boyfriend that she didn't notice the one open line growing to 12-15 people. And don't even get me started on the number of employees that stand around speaking Spanish over your head while they're ringing up your purchases. I'm middle-aged and I am completely *over* stores that don't offer customer service of *any* kind ESPECIALLY when there are a million other options for consumers. Of course, it may be that I'm not longer Walmart's demographic. Is it so hard to greet another human when they arrive at your place of work? Is it so hard to look a person in the eye when they've patronized your establishment? Hand them their change and NOT start a conversation with someone else as if you've dismissed them from your presence? Is it so hard to notice when someone is looking for something and offer to help? I get that Walmart's "thing" is to simply be cheap, but I'd rather pay 3¢ more for my hairbrush and shop at a store that actually VALUES its clientele. Walmart could learn a lot of places like Home Depot (especially the one in Patchogue, NY), where their employees go out of their way to greet, help and guide you. read more

Never well stocked on items. I didn't check the exp. dates of all the food, but many cereals were expired. HORRIBLE customer service. Why? Cause 60% of the CSPs do NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. I asked a man where the lightbulbs were and he shrugged his shoulders and said "No comprende". I pointed to the lights on the ceiling, but he still had no clue. I asked a woman where the hanging planter pots were and she walked me down an isle and pointed to a lawn chair?? Dirty store. A few times there was no express register open either, so me and 2 others had to stand on a very long line just for 4 items. I've been to several Walmarts in several states from NY to Fla to AZ and I'd have to say Islandia, NY is the worst (that I'VE been to). I did, however, give it one star, but I'm not sure why. Maybe the prices are fairly good. Oh, and calling the store? Forget it. I'm either left on hold for 20 minutes OR I get hung up on, although I just called this morning and asked if they carry coconut oil, a very healthy popular item that other Walmarts carry and the lady said no. NO? Did she even check? No. She just said NO. Like I said, not all, but many imcompetant employees. If I go there tomorrow and they have it, mgmt will hear from me.
