Went in looking for socks that are non-skid. Just purchased it about a week ago, but wanted to buy more. Renovation in the store is ongoing, so looking for the same socks was very difficult. I asked the sales clerk for help in looking for them. She just pointed out where socks are located and told me it should be in that area. She wasn't helping anyone or doing anything but standing behind the counter. Socks sections were overwhelming that, I finally gave up looking. So much for good customer service. read more

Walmart - Grocery Near Me - Hilo, Hawaii

I come from the mainland where there are walmarts in every neighborhood which has the worst customer service. I figured the one in Hilo would be great. I went to purchase some items that was needed. The cashier ran my credit card and the system took extremely long time to process the payment. After some time the card was declined as I was asked to re run my credit card. Within seconds the payment was posted and I left. The next morning I am looking through my transactions online and noticed that I was double charged from the night before. I went to the customer service desk and explained the situation and was told that I needed to wait at least 3 business days for the correction and that if it does not return to come back. I purposely waited an extra day and went back. The same associate(Jasmine) was there and explained to her that it was not refunded. She went to get her supervisor(Roz). Roz told me that I would have to wait 3 to 7 business days for the return. I explained to Roz that I already did that and that I want the money returned. Roz told me that I was to get with my card company for the refund. Again I explained to Roz that I already did that and was told that it the store responsibility to refund it, and that is why I was there. After some time Roz tells me that the accounting department is going to have to get with the card company to see if there is no return and it should take about 2 weeks. By this time I was pretty annoyed and demanded that something needs to be done. Roz played around on the computer for a few mins and told me that she was about to leave and walmart did not want over time but she will look into it the next day. I gave her 2 days and personally went to the store and she gave me a line about how the card company was taking to long and needed to go to lunch and asked me to call myself. Well needless to say the card company is Walmart corporate card company and I can not proceed because I was not an associate. Here it is September and still out the $100. I will never shop at Walmart ever again!!! read more

Most of the time everybody is kind and thoughtful. The place is usually clean. The produce and food could be better. Yesterday, they were rearranging the store. It was crazy. But, I was pleased the employees helped me find everything. They even showed me the shelf and item. I had a nice associate cut fabric for me. She was great. Very crowded, but has an excellent selection of reasonably priced souvenirs, if you're looking to bring things home for friends or family. They had a variety of nice t-shirts for $9 and hats starting at $3, as well as leis, magnets, postcards, beach towels, etc. They also sell macadmia nuts and macadamia nut candies (in the grocery section, not the tourist section). Highly recommended if you need to get gifts for a lot of people without breaking the bank. Staff was friendly as well. read more

Omg! The Customer Service Manager (CSM) were very rude and unprofessional! Just came home and not happy at all! Store is messy/dirty. I asked one of the CSMs for help and this lady looked right in my eye and said "I'm busy, someone on the floor can help you". No smile, nothing! When I turned around to find a real worker, the CSM who said she was "busy" continued talking and laughing with the other CSM on duty tonight. Wow, Walmart really cares huh! And after I paid for my things, the cashier couldn't even tell me thank you and to please come back soon. How hard is to be be friendly and grateful?! I really don't like Walmart all that much. I bought fabric here a few times and the employee That assisted me Was very rude. You can't really find any employees if you need help and have to search for them. When you do they will direct you in the general direction but rarely come and show you. Obviously if you can't find it you don't need a Finger pointing In the general direction you need to be shown. Always looks like there is barely anyone on duty. Lines take forever to get through.. Horrible customer service and no initiative to help out the customer. Went into the electronics department tonight 4/8/20 to purchase an item that clearly was marked as in stock. The employee even checked my Walmart app because she didn't believe me. After a 30 second effort of searching in surrounding area for item I received an unbelievable response. "The item is probably in stock but it's in the back on a pallet or in a truck, you'll have to come back tomorrow." In which I responded with asking her if she could go check the back stock room which NUMEROUS Walmart's have done so for me in the past and I was told no she couldn't do it. When I told her that the item had been showing in stock for last two days she responded with the same uneducated/no thought answer of "yea it's in the back somewhere so come back later." Really Walmart?!? That's customer service? So disappointed with Walmart right now. Will now be purchasing this item at a different Non-Walmart store because of this. I could tell he wasn't interested in helping. I still could not find what I was looking for so I asked another employee and she was VERY helpful! I just hung up the phone from talking with a Wal-Mart employee. I called to asked if the vision center in the store was open today so that I could pick up my glasses. The lady that answered the phone said she wasn't sure and would go over to the dressing rooms to try to transfer my call. After a few seconds she came back on the line and told me she had run over to the vision center to check their hours for me. Turns out they are not open on Sunday. There is a lot of bad press about Walmart's employee policies. My son will not even set foot in a Walmart Store. I shop here regularly. Gradually I have started buying most of my non-perishable groceries here. They are cheaper than at other stores. I've never had Walmart overcharge me for an item. Not once. So if you're deciding to buy something important like a bike (I'm a college student so transportation is essential), I don't recommend asking the people at Walmart for help. They never have the bikes you want. When I first went in I saw the exact one I wanted, I go in two days later and ask for that bike. They tell me they had two in the back, I just had to wait an hour for them to assemble it. I ended up waiting about two hours, and when they brought out the bike it wasn't even the right bike that I asked for. They told me you can take it or not. Excuse me, I'm the one without transportation here. Well for me I'm not gonna spend all this money on something I'm gonna hate riding in. And walmart is not going to pay for my taxi ride back home and back to the store to pick up the bike I want. So they gave me the option to take that bike now and just come back to exchange it with the one I want, but I still have to pay for both of the bike's registration license. All this stuff wouldn't have happened if the person helping me would've actually listened to what I wanted. I waited for an hour at the bike rack and no one even asked to help me, when I did ask the man messed up the bike I wanted, I waited two hours for the wrong bike, and they gave me shit because one of the workers didn't tell them correctly what I wanted? one of these worst stores on the big island. for claiming to be one of the most friendly work places who spread aloha, they all sure are very rude and unprofessional. not only is the staff rude, unhelpful, and lazy, but they have no idea where anything is! i once asked a lady who worked in the toy department if they had a certain item in stock, and she said she didn't know as if she didn't work in THAT department??? they must have the most half a$$ed training ever over there! the cashiers are even worse, they have attitudes and don't even make conversation. the people at the door who check your receipts are rude. the security looks and stalks you like you are trying to steal when they see you literally at checkout PAYING for your items. and don't even get me started on the shoppers... they either are all up in your space or so extremely rude as well. everyone in that store (staff and shoppers included) are just the most unkind human beings to be around. every time i go in (which is not often, thankfully!) it's just an unpleasant experience and their store is always rearranged more trashily and you can't even find a single thing. and oh my god, the service i receive on the phone is horrible as well!! not only do they take almost 20 minutes to answer in ONE department, when they answer their attitudes are twice as bad than in person! the lady who directs calls is so rude and acts like she can't hear you, and the people who finally answer in the departments are so slow and don't even greet you! i don't even understand how this place is still running even after years of mistreating their customers like trash. don't shop here !!!!! read more

We stop by here to find boxes for moving my parents stuff into storage. When I ask this employee. Her name was rose she was so quick to help us out. She told us to come back in a little while and she would have some for us and gave more info on how to call in box orders for later. I love shopping @ walmart because it's cheap. However Walmart does not let the customers get to you like Home Depot does. The customer's don't understand the nature of the business and assume that just because you work there...you're supposed to know the entire store.The sad thing is not enough coverage and everyone gets burned out and discouraged. Walmart Hilo Hawaii has gone ghetto.. I have lived here in Hilo for 35yrs . I watched Walmart being built and open. Loved shopping there-bought everything from there.Loved the selection but sadly after the other shops packed up and left because of they could not compete. Walmart Hilo went down hill. Selection is terrible.Shelves are empty more often than not ...the store is not clean. I use to love the craft/sewing section..(Hilo has a lot crafters) now what little they have is beyond words. Why so much fresh food- its priced more than local grocers and not fresh-matter of fact its nasty and refuse to buy it. The Kona Walmart is beautiful.. Has more selection granted not what it was but is cleaner more organized. Over all nicer place. I go to the Walmart only when I have too- if you know Hilo there is not too many choices. Don't even get me started on how nasty the bathrooms are. Every time I come out I'm disgusted. Shame on you Walmart Hilo!! I know this will probably will never be posted because its not what you want people to see.. But at least bring your standards up to Kona store!! read more
