Walmart always amazes me how bad their customer service is. Right now is not the time to be rude and many things have changed during this crisis. I accidentally walked in through the exit not knowing the blocked off the middle section to the double doors. We walked in to grab deodorant simply and to leave not to be in public. The gentleman at the door ( Indian/Afghan possibly) when we left glared me down. I said great customer service cause I asked if he wanted to see the receipt he just continues to glare than as we walk away he says "great Customer" not the kind of service we need. Poorly trained staff, lack of knowledge and basic understanding of what to do in the event of a medical emergency. Wasted a hour of my time after I was injured in their store by another customer to even take an incident report. They talked to a witness but did nothing about it. They do not care about the safety of their customers so the only recommendation is to not shop there read more

I did my first curbside pickup today. I ordered on line the night before for pickup at 3PM. Some of it was frozen food or refrigerated food. It said I could add to my order for the next 11 hours! So the next day, the website says my order is being prepared. Then, I got an email that it was ready to pick up. It said to confirm the pick up before leaving my home, which I did. They said the pickup is contactless, so they will just put the bags in the back seat or in the trunk. I made sure to bring a print out of the order including the order number. I also brought some things to read in case I had to wait for the order. The email did not say where to go for curb side pickup, so I did drive around the store. I did find some pickup parking spaces in the front of the store with a phone number to call. So I parked in a pickup parking space and called the number on the sign. I told them the space number I was in and my order number. They said they would be out shortly. About 10 minutes later, a person is pushing a cart with multiple shelves filled with bags. He confirmed my name and I said he could put the order in the back seat. He does ask me to confirm that I received everything. I told him he would know that more than I would as he packed the bags. When I got home, the frozen items still seemed frozen and refrigerated items were still cold. The pickup time was from 2-3PM so hopefully those items were not sitting out for 1 hour as I did not pick up until 3PM. Any, all in all it was pretty convenient to do and will use curb side pickup again if they continue to offer it. read more

This Walmart could be much better if it start carrying more fresh produce and fresh food options instead of frozen/ processed foods and junk foods. Given the massive housing development and population growth nearby this Walmart, it would make so much more sense if it expands itself into a super-Walmart like place. The management team should realize the long-term strategic goals of serving fresh produce the appropriate demographics that live nearby. read more

(Condensed Version) I ordered tires on walmart.com (searched tire size by inputting vehicle information). A couple weeks later was notified that the tires were ready for pick up. I go to the store to get them installed, so I leave my car. They called me 6 hours later to tell me they are the wrong size. I go in and they tell me I need to physically take the tires from the Auto and Tire Center across the store to Customer Service with a shopping cart to return them. BUT, they can't find the tires and NO ONE looks for them. Instead, the sales associate calls a manager to address it, but the manager doesn't come for 30 minutes. The whole time, the sales associates and the techs don't do anything to locate the tires. Then when the manager comes, the sales associate says, "The customer's mad because I can't bring tires out of thin air for him." The manager eventually takes me to Customer Service where she was able to refund the tires without me taking them there. Then the manager tells me, "The Auto and Tire people don't know the return policy," which if indeed is the case, is a catastrophic failure on the count of the store and managers for not properly training the staff. When I returned to the Auto and Tire Center to pick up my keys, the sales associate tells me that the techs have my keys. I go outside to speak to the techs who tell me they don't have my keys. I go back inside to ask the sales associate for my keys and he's adamant that he only has the keys to completed vehicles and that I need to talk to the techs outside. When I go outside to talk to the techs again, they ask me for the completed paperwork before they could return the keys to me. I then have to explain how they couldn't work on my car and that I didn't have any paperwork to give them. He finally gives me the keys after I give him a description of them. However, this could have all been avoided if the sales associate simply told the tech what was going on, instead of instructing me to get the keys myself, and essentially having me be the middle man in the conversation with the techs. I am NEVER going back to this store. read more

We were in the automotive department. Ali was very helpful, he had very good customer service skills. Ali was very knowledgeable in the automotive questions that we had. Sometimes something bad has to happen in order to change an impression of a place from a negative to a positive. Early Saturday evening I had gotten a flat tire (my car comes with no spare) that needed to be replaced, and about the only store that sells and installs tires that was still open was Walmart. I gave them a call, and was transferred right away to their Tire and Lube Express, and Victor took my call. I told him my situation, and then he checked to make sure that they had my tire size in stock. They did, and said as long as I make it in by 6:30, they could do it that evening. In the meantime, AAA was sending a tow truck my way. It was a little after six when AAA arrived, and it took them about ten minutes to get my car secured to the flatbed - and we were off. Walmart was about ten minutes away, and we got there just in time. Victor went over the paperwork and tire choices with me. There were several cars ahead of mine, but a couple hours wait compared to being without a car for a day was well worth the wait. read more

Came in for face wash. Waited 25 minutes for an employee to open the cabinet. I was the 4th person inline waiting for help in the facial isle. I can only imagine how long the people before me have been waiting. 10 minutes after pressing the button, I flagged an older blonde employee with glasses and she acknowledged and said she doesn't have a key. She came back 15 minutes later with a key to help all 7 customers who have been waiting. Each time she helped a customer she had to put the items in a separate security case, that took another minute to do. I understand why merchandise is locked up but there needs to be an employee to oversee the locked cabinets. My simple purchase should have only taken 5-10 minutes from start to finish, yet ended up being 45 minutes for only 1 simple item. Every customers time is valuable and this experience was not pleasant. For this same amount of time waiting, I could have drove to a competitor farther away to purchase. read more

This review is ONLY for the Optical Department Chris was pretty awsome. Very polite and well spoken. While he was typing in my information in the system, he gave me updates on what was going on....like, oh it will be another minute while these files load, or just finishing up, will be done soon. Even when he was working on my file looking busy, he asked me if I had any questions, which was nice of him to multi task. He clearly knows how to do his job. He was not pushy on the promotions, and is very organized. He did point out that they are NO LONGER CONTACTED WITH 1800 CONTACTS. (In fact, 1800 contacts does NOT take medical insurance. Good to know! ) He handed me my receipt, my rebate form with an extra copy of the receipt and an envelope to put it in! Little things, like the envelope was really nice. Another black mark on Walmart's reputation. The Walmart in Fremont California on Osgood Road shows their lack of professionalism and customer support. There is a strip mall next to Osgood between and the Walmart parking lot. Yes, the parking they made for that group of fast food, small shops and the bank are too small even for small vehicles and it is not Walmart's fault possibly. However, recently Walmart put up signs at the entrance to the parking lot saying they will tow vehicles parked in their parking lot and using the strip mall. Sad part is after 10 years watching the escapades in this complex that part of the parking lot it is seldom used by anyone shopping at Walmart. Most people do not want to drag their baskets of shopping across the parking lot. Their parking lot is excessive and even after the COVID fiasco has subsided there still is not enough vehicles to take 50% of the parking. Those who do park in their parking lot and go over to the strip complex are those individuals who don't want their vehicles damaged by doors opened or ridicules parking spaces. Amazing, Walmart is so territorial in California supposedly known for its liberal ways. Pathetic principles! Further, the light which goes into their parking lot in the early morning hours 04:00 to 07:00 is ridiculous. The north bound turn light into the Walmart parking lot is always green causing south bound traffic to sit for extended times and waste valuable time. There is never any traffic at the turn or inbound to the Walmart parking lot. It seems Walmart is not interested in promoting good neighbor ethics. Shhhhhh... Don't tell anyone... but this is THE best Walmart in the area. Tucked away in the back corner of Fremont, this locale is newer than the rest of the bunch. I can always find good parking, the customer service is friendlier, and the store is generally more organized (not as picked over) than, say, UC. I rarely shop here but the few times I have it's been almost pleasurable to meander and browse (turning that blind eye to their business practices!). Sorry, Wallies just aren't my usual cup of tea. Why all the stars? If I need an oil change quickly, sometimes I'll go to Wallie's to get it done. Usually it's the UC location, but this morning I decided to give this locale a chance. I'm a fan now! I'm one of those "I'll wake up at the ass crack of dawn on a Saturday to get the oil change so I won't have to wait long". UC is so busy that if I make it in by 8am I already have a 1 or 1.5 hour wait. I can only be in Wallies for so long and get my behind out of bed so early! I got here around 8 and only one guy was ahead. I'm promised I'll have my car in 20 min. They finished in 15min. While I was waiting..I learned a bit about sharks on the flat screen TV. And, if I wanted I could also have enjoyed a cup of coffee while catching up on the variety of celebrity gossip magazines. Better yet, taken a nap on the plethora of chairs available. But they were so quick I didn't have time. I just walked out and there is a line of three xtra cars outside the garage. Helps to be the early bird! In through the exit, out through the entrance--they should take down the signs. The store isn't exactly organized but it isn't horrible. It's just Walmart. The store's proximity to Fry's probably keeps Fry's prices on movies and music better than they are at other locations, and does the same for Walmart. This latest visit, the cashier was grouchy. The place I was going to before increased their prices, so I knew I should maybe consider getting an oil change somewhere else. First I wasn't sure if I should go to Walmart to get my oil change even though I went there 10+ years ago with my first car, but I went there today in the afternoon. I did call ahead and ask for the wait for oil changes, "no one was waiting at this time," the woman who answered the phone said. There are different prices for the different services. For the basic oil change: the oil + the filter, and tire pressure check it's $26.88. My car is at about 40k, and I bought it brand new a few years ago. Anyways I brought my car in, they gave me a number to bring to the cashier and said to come back in about 25 minutes. I wandered around the store, looking at stuff, picked out something, and by the time I got back they were done with it well before. This older friendly gentleman rang up my purchases, and made joke. He seemed like a happy employee. When I drove away, I was pleasantly suprised that my car was accelerating and braking easier, which is fantastic! Usually when I've spent more like $45 on an oil change, I don't notice a great effect like that. Another thing that I noticed was that they had several people available to work on the cars, and there were extra auto mechanics available still, that's great! Also my car was clean before and still was when I got my car back. This Walmart is located near Fry's Electronics here in Fremont. It's much bigger than the other one in Fremont, (Where Old Costco Used to be), however the one in Union City is still the bigger one. It's your typical Walmart but this has more selection than the other one in Fremont because it is bigger. This one even has a Tire & Lube Express, where as the other one in Fremont does not. Although this one has a Blimpie's instead of a McDonald's. Very spacious and easy to move around and about. The aisles are pretty decent in size and clean most of the time. Customer Service: Checkouts can be long, but I mean that's typical at all Walmart's. Service is alright, haven't had any problems yet. Parking: Plenty of parking, it's a vary spacious lot. Easy to find parking, maybe not right in front of the store, but you'll find a space. Shopping Carts: Plenty of carts in and outside of the store. Be sure to be on the lookout in the parking lot for carts because customers tend to not "return them to the corrals" because they are lazy.... Open 24 hours now! read more

Today was my first time at the Walmart in Fremont. If you know where Fry's is in Fremont, it's on the left side of the road on Osgood & Automall Pkwy. I've driven on Automall tons of time just you can't see the Walmart since it's off on Osgood, behind the Jack In The Box. Shopping after work is great. Not as crowded makes it more enjoyable. Separate bathrooms on the Left side of the store once you went. They have a Blimpie fast-food place inside this Walmart. You can also get your nails done here. Also saw they have Tires/Car shop too. That might be helpful one day. I got tons of stuff for cheap today: The Lodge porcelain enamel cast iron Dutch Oven is my new favorite, got it in Red and it was only $40! Got a bunch of Indian curry in a box just have to heat up $2.33-$3.17 Cheap t-shirts $5 Spork $2.24 each in Red and another in Yellow Mosquito head net $1.47 - impulse buy Sweat shirt $5.84 Sweater $7.92 Broom $4.33 Quick Grits $1.64 pasta sauce $1.25 Total was $99.08 after tax. 16 items. I purchased a knee brace with a heating device from Walmart on line. The device was incomplete because the part I needed was missing. I have been going back and forth with the company that sends out the product. They claimed that the order was complete. Not even close to the truth. So, I am stuck with a brace that I cannot use, out the money and am so disgusted with this entire debacle. The only way to communicate with Walmart is through chatting on line. Do I give up, no, so I am getting even with these bums by strongly advocating that Walmart on line shopping is a sham. All they want is your money and I will no longer allow them to control me. Walmart only takes the orders, and then a second and even third party gets involved and very few if any, get what they paid for. Probably won't be able to get my money back, so run for the hills, and I strongly recommend that no one buy anything through these deceitful, dishonest, greedy and selfish crooks. We made an online order for pick up same day because they had the item in stock according to their website. We waited and waited. This was a gift for our son's birthday and we wanted to surprise him with it. We called over a handful of times to contact customer service AND their pick up department. NO ANSWER WHATSOEVER. There were no e-mails to even let us know if the item is indeed in stock. When we took it upon ourselves to go there and ask for the item, they kept saying they did not find it. So if they couldn't find it, why was there no e-mail letting us know? We wasted our time. We left our sons party to get the item. This was such a huge inconvenience for us that could have been solved by a simple e-mail or an answer of the phone. We kept insisting to find it. Waited a few minutes. Finally we asked to speak to their manager and guess what? THE MANAGER FOUND OUR ORDER IN LESS THAN 5 MINUTES!! She checked the area where the employee supposedly "looked". I just got back from Walmart to return and boy o boy the rudeness was beyond acceptable by a manager called Jeremy . I was asked to go from albrae to Osgood as their CS is open. When I got to Osgood around 5 pm the lady at cs Mamta was helping someone and when it came to my turn she said we are closed - so I asked to speak to manager who was right there called Samantha who was so polite and a keeper as manager spoke so politely , heard me and was explaining me when this dumb guy walks by shouting at me get off no one is here to help you just leave -! So I told him am I speaking to you , I'm not speaking to/with you, I'm speaking to a manager Samantha and he yells "I'm one too so get off and go home" . Samantha was so embarrassed but she kept her cool and was so nice. And apologized Jeremy behavior. On such a powerful night before Xmas is this how you treat people. Fire Jeremy and mamta. I gave them my used iPhone 4s for a new iPhone 6. The whole system took 2 hours because the staff was laid back and took his sweet ass time. I told him I'm here for the trade in but he dismissed it and went through the whole system of purchasing a new phone which came out to be over $200. He then said I never mentioned I'm here for the trade in system so he had to back track everything and restart. OF COURSE some issues came up and they had to chat with AT&T for help. The Walmart employee kept saying "I don't know, my shift is over give me some time to find a replacement." Sure enough another man came to take over. He opened the box and completed the final step. This is a great Walmart, much better than the other one across town. It is very much what you have come to expect plus you can get tires, oil changes and other preventative maintenance services. I really like how spacious, organized and well kept this Walmart is. A nice hi and thanks for shopping at Walmart goes a long way. I was pleasantly surprised to see a very helpful staff and reasonably well maintained Walmart in Eastbay/Trivalley. Needed to get my bike assembled which i got from online (walmart.com), so happen to drop the bike. I came back late, had quite challenge to find where in store the bike technician had dropped off after his hours. Store manager was kind to walk with me entire store, two times checking every possible department to hunt it down. Another vendor (not really an employee of Walmart store) helped me tune the bike and add the bell. I would certainly come here for more services. read more

Review is for the PHARMACY DEPT: 1 star for pharmacy. Too many questions asked when its none of his business. I was looking for salt tablets for my upcoming travel. I asked the pharmacy assistant who immediately asked the head pharmacist. The man asked me if I looked in the sports/camping area and I did. I didnt see it there. Then he started asking me questions: why I would need it? what was I going to use it for? Then I informed him that it was recommended by my doctor, he asked more questions about if I was going camping. I told him I was going out of the country and it was prescribed by the doctor. He then tells me it wouldn't cure any bacteria and that the real name was sodium chloride. Duh!Information I already knew. I asked "Do you have any or not?"
