If I could leave a no star review that would be the most accurate. For the fourth time, the…read morepharmacy refused to fill a prescription leaving me without critical meds and without an alternative option. The first offense happened when I was on Oxycontin after a major motor vehicle accident. The hospital called in a refill the day of my second surgery, CVS refused to fill it for 24 hours because they had declared that I was an addict and had been on the meds too long. Even after showing them my medical records indicating the 29 broken bones, the massive internal injuries, the proof of surgery just hours ago, they instead continued to berate me, repeatedly calling me an addict. I had to go the first 36 hours after major surgery with no pain medication as I could not take any over the counter medications. The most recent was this week when I both spoke to someone over the phone confirming my medication was available and receieved a text just hours before I arrived at CVS indiciating my mediccations were available for pick up. When I arrived, they refused to give me the medication that I cannot be without as it is life threatening to even miss one dose. Their excuse: the prescription expired in two days so even though the medicine was available as of 11:08 am when on the same day, at 6pm they would not give it to me. As this is a controlled substance, I have no other options to get it and they will not even give me an emergency supply. This is a medicine that I have been on for 50 years and rely on, and yet all I got from them was well you will have to go without. If they had told me at 11 am, I would have been able to call my doctor's office and get a new prescription. This pharmacy repeatedly has treated me horribly simply because I rely on controlled substances-no one deserves to be treated the way they have treated me and I have witnessed them treat others simply because a doctor, who understands our overall medical needs, has made a decision to prescribe a controlled substance. We all deserve to be treated with dignity and respect-something this pharmacy repeatedly fails to do.

That's a little ridiculous. Plus, the line of cars for the drive-thru was all the way out on the side street. CRAZY! Someone has to do something. Also, more than once I've gotten a text saying that my prescription is ready for pick up, I go there and strangely they tell me it's not ready. I told them "I got a text saying it was ready for pick up" ... one of the workers told me "that's not always right." THEN WHY AM I GETTING A TEXT SAYING IT'S READY?!? I don't get it. So I've never done this but while in line I took a picture because it was that long and I couldn't believe what was happening, I just had to. You can't see everyone in line in front of me cause some people were standing directly in front of each other, but I counted them and there was like 8 people in front of me and there was at least 5 people behind me. I couldn't believe what was happening. They need to do something! Seriously.

I was told they don't exchange, I would have to get a refund and repurchase the item. I said ok. I went and picked out the item, went to the register and a young lady rang up the item. I gave her the gift card she had just given me and said you have to pay 87 cents tax. I said I already paid the 87 cents when I purchased the one I am exchanging, I am not paying tax twice. Why didn't you refund the tax I had already paid? She said we don't refund the tax, I said I am not paying double tax. I said call the manager. The manager came up and was totally useless. I explained everything thing and she did nothing. I said just give me my item I was exchanging back. The manager said no I am not giving it back to you, she picked up my returned item that was behind her, I thought she was going to throw it at me, but she threw my item hard towards the door in the cashier area. This woman Felicia Pacheco (that she said is her name, and she is the manager) was extremely unprofessional and very aggressive with me a senior citizen. I was so afraid she was going to attack me so I called the police for assistance with this unprofessional, unruly manager. This woman does not belong working in the public, she is definitely not manager material. The police officer offered to pay the 87 cents tax for me, but I said no he doesn't or shouldn't have to do that. I made an even exchange and I already paid the tax on the item I returned. I left the store, but when I got out side it hit me that the gift card was used to purchase the exchange and would have a zero balance. I went back in the store to have this manager check the balance on the card and she started playing on her phone and didn't get the balance. I think she may have saw it had a zero balance and then called the police back saying she wanted me out of the store. The police come back and tell me to leave because the manager don't want me there. Sure enough I get home call the number on the back of the card and the card has a zero balance. So this manger has stolen my $13.99 dollars. I then called the New Bedford police back to make a report of larceny and they said you can go to CVS tomorrow and speak with the day manager who can hopefully solve this. I have never in my 68 1/2 years been treated so badly in a store as I was tonight. This is far from over, I will not stop pursuing this until I get my stolen money back...

One of the best things to happen to me was having my PC quit his practice, requiring me to find a new PC. I cannot count my blessings enough to have been accepted by Dr. Thuraisamy at Outer Cape Health services in Harwichport. Besides being a wonderful, caring doctor, she turned me on to the Outer Cape pharmacy, where my first transaction was to finally get a prescription that CVS was going to charge me $450 for, and which I could not afford. The Outer Cape pharmacy was able to provide me with my prerscription at a savings of $440. The pharmacy is small, efficient, caring, and personal. I have moved all of my prescriptions from CVS to Outer Cape pharmacy. I keep getting emails and phone calls from medicare (eScrips) telling me that I could save money if I just put all of my prescriptons back at CVS. Not going to happen. I do not care if I may have to pay $2.00 (or less) more for my recurring prescriptions at Outer Cape. One cannot trade the personal attention and efficiency at Outer Cape for a $2.00 savings at a pharmacy network like CVS that has contracts with Big Pharma.
