This used to be "my walmart", you know...the one I went to the most as it was convenient and although not the best in the city, it was certainly not the worst. The best = Deerfoot Super centre... The worst = Marlborough Mall. Anyhow.. I had to head up there tonight to return something... I didnt have a receipt and as usual Walmart cheerfully returned it for me and gave me a store credit gift card. This walmart pretty much has all the standard stuff, but seems a tad depressing.... The only way I can describe it is that it feels "gray" in there, weak lighting, gray floors and low energy... The parking lot out front is always pretty busy and with the construction of the LRT extension it is a bit of gong show to get in and out of. For a while this Walmart tried the self scan checkouts... it lasted about a year..apparently too many people using it had issues with it. Have to say that self scanning is not rocket science... now they have that single line with multiple checkout s that you queue up for... it is really fast and efficient. I like it. Alot of Walmarts are converting to the supercentres.... I wouldnt be suprised if this one did too with the LRT extension and station being steps away. So this is really a review of Wal-mart's delivery service. The online ordering system is fine, it is clear, it makes sense, the delivery fees seems fair. I book the delivery for when I will be home a day or 2 in advance to pay the lowest fees. And then the fun begins. It is a Russian Roulette game of will I get my order, part of the order, someone else's order or none of it at all? No one knows. No one cares. With a weird cross between Telephone Tag and Hide & Seek, where you, the customer can not call the delivery personal back if you miss their call, or you might have to chase the delivery person down the street as they blast past your residence at 40 km an hour, and/or your groceries could end up anywhere in the neighbourhood (possibly even in an unsecured dumpster). So remember to check you back yard (Not kidding). But when you call Wal-mart you can not address this with the call centre, Wal-Mart wants you to wait till the next day to tell them the delivery is missing, and they can only give you a refund. They will not provide you with the photo of where your groceries were left (so I could at least figure out where the mistake in locating the address actually was), they can not contact the assigned drive to ask him about it. The Call Centre will not expedite a replacement order, you are left to do that yourself (which is maybe why the 'Order it Again' function of their website seems to work so well). I am left with the adage: "If you do not have time to do it correctly, when will you have time to do it again?". read more

I went to pick up a few items. Took extra time which I didn't care because they have gone one-directional with their aisles. However, half the customers are not following that rule. I understand why now, cause I witness a staff member of this Walmart enter an aisle on the wrong side and walk all the way down the aisle the wrong way with a customer. This Walmart has always been my go-to because of its location, but I have recently discovered that EVERY single other Walmart in the city is much better. This one may be a "Supercentre," but it does not have nearly the same selection as others (ie. bulk and deli products.) I've gone to this Walmart on different days of the week, at different times of the day... and it's always the same thing. Empty, unkempt shelves. I am baffled at the lack of product in this store. Ok, so this review isn't about Walmart in general because everything there is affordable and pretty decent quality depending on what you get. So that being said, I do like Walmart. This review is just this specific Walmart. I come here usually once a week because I live so close. They are always understaffed, their shelves are never fully stocked, and their staff don't know where things in the store are, let alone are willing to help you find someone who will know where the stuff you are looking for is. I normally wait in line about 10 minutes each time I come here to pay, which is too long when I'm buying one thing. God forbid you need to make a return because the last time I did that I waited in line for 30 minutes while ONE person did all the returns. Like the yellow "have a nice day" happy face intelligently exploited by its commercials, I always have a smile on my face when I step into "the mart." Though sometimes admittedly it is a cynical one. There are times where the "express" line is slower than the regular lines. Once in awhile a checkout person checks-out and that also slows the process. Occasionally, one encounters children that seem to be running out of control and into things around nearby bemused parents. And these are things that definitely hurt my head. However, if you know what you are looking for and particularly for everyday household products, Walmart can be a wonderful place. Recently, purchased a flotation device for an upcoming houseboating trip and the selection was such that it took me a good 10 minutes to make a decision. It's huge, it's relatively price competitive and if you are not careful you can pick up more here than you intend to. Maybe that's the point :) read more

I want to spoil my new roommate with the best accessories so that he is comfortable and he feels at home.I asked a pet friendly colleague of mine where she recommended "pet buying" and I thought she would spew some exotic pet store and she responded without a pause " Walmart". This is where she gets basic stuff for her dog and she notices the same product at Walmart is half as much at any pet store. So off to Westbrook I went to two very long rows, 6 foot high dedicated to pets. As predicted I found a great kitty litter with lid in a gold colour, some nice food bowls and a huge bag of environmental kitty litter for under $35. This is how much I would be paying just for a kitty litter set at any exclusive pet store. I was so happy, I had budgeted more money for my new friend so with the money left over I was able to buy a huge pack of toilet paper and some other bathroom necessities. read more

I had to get some pictures taken for the insurance and showed them the letter from insurance that said it will cover upto $100 for the expense. But they did not rip us of despite that. Have is two sets of pictures for just $34, and quickly!!! The prints were ready in 15 mins. CUSTOMER SERVICE: We had a few items my sisters bought before going out of country. Since she was away the items were past return date, and we didn't have the receipt. The staff patiently checked their records based on dates we gave for the purchase (I am sure that was a lot given how busy they are). They were very polite and understanding and gave us a store credit for the items. No surprise we very happy customers! read more

Just stupidly tried for over an hour to call the Westbrook Walmart to talk to a real live person...just the recordings...and pressing zero didn't work with no one answering after one person did answer...English wasn't her first language...gee...what a surprise...and I asked if she was able to transfer me to information or have a number of the now in store insurance area...she said no she couldn't transfer me and no she didn't have the number I needed and just hung up. So I tried again to get thru...and again...phone rang and rang and rang with no one answering...tho the recording instructions say press 3 to get the area you want. I have indeed been in the store many times...and staff are not at all helpful or I am unable to find one to assist me. Thanks to other customers who have aided me. Much to my delight, this Walmart now has groceries! It's a relatively easy transit journey from my place too, so it's worthwhile going here for big shops. I was a little disappointed they didn't have everything I wanted - why no Kale? Why 500 pairs of pjamas but only one in size small? And got a bit frustrated by their staff. "It should be over there, in that section" [waves vaguely at the other side of the store] and "Ummm, maybe we don't stock it?" [while refusing to make eye contact, and scuttling away rapidly] are NOT acceptable responses in a store that is a) freakin' massive and b) most definitely DOES carry the product I was looking for (in this particular case, weatherstripping - which took 20 minutes of misdirections for me to locate an ENTIRE AISLE of it). IThat said, my entire bill was pretty cheap (despite splurging on a few items), so I'll likely be headed out there again soon. Hopefully by then they'll have restocked in size small pjamas and have taught their staff basic direction giving skills :) read more

I experienced a hit and run in the parking lot of this particular Walmart (which I always avoid going to) on the last Friday of Stampede 2022. I usually park far from other cars in parking lots but because this store has many car break-ins, I decided to park in the second row closest to the front of the store sidewalk, between the garden centre and main doors. When I finished shopping and went to the car we discovered I had been victim of a hit and run by the car parked to my left. I noticed two security cameras at both sides of our parking stall and went into the store to speak to management, it took them quite some time to acknowledge me and come speak to me. They walked out to the car with me took pictures and assured me they would contact me after seeing footage. I didn't hear from anyone so I went back and a different manager helped me. He advised that I needed to go through the police in order to obtain footage. I filed a report with District 2 who requested footage from Walmart Westbrook and it turns out that a company like Walmart with large sales has an inexpensive and terrible security camera set-up. Footage doesn't identify anything further than 13 feet I was told. Way to go Walmart!!!!!!! read more

Strongly HATE this Walmart. ALL THE EMPLOYEES WERE VERY VERY RUDE. I am very disgusted at how poorly I was treated here. when I asked the employees to help me find a certain item very politely, they seemed very annoyed and then when I was standing in line for the cashier, an employee directed me to the self checkout and when I said "no I have vegetables and other things with no barcodes" and I just wanted to pay for my stuff and go home but the employee insisted that it would be quicker. Then of course, the vegetables wouldn't scan and I needed an employee to help me but they were unavailable and when they came to help me, they didn't know how to fix the problem. So yesterday my girlfriend and I decided we were going to go grocery shopping and stock up our fridge since we practically had nothing left. Bad idea. It wasn't even that busy but I decided we should split up and cover more ground. Good idea. After about an hour of grocery shopping and grabbing everything but the frozen foods, I make my way to the freezers. Done I thought! Boy was I wrong. Let me give you a break down. They have 18 tills here. Eighteen. Not like 10, or even 15, but 18 tills. Mind you, 6 are for "express lane - 12 items or less" but that still leaves 12 for everybody else who needs more than a handful of groceries. Okay okay. Seems fine. Wrong. Not only did they have all 6 of their express lanes open, but they only had 3 regular lanes open. THREE. Now you might be thinking, Colby, what's so bad about that? Let me tell you. I lined up behind what seemed to be a queue for auditions to Canadian Idol. I'm talking lined up into the women's clothing section. Meanwhile the express lane couldn't even fill it's tiny preset cow-run because they had 6 cashiers to blast people out the door. My girlfriend stepped into the lineup and was done within 4 minutes and out to the car and back to me before I had even moved 3 feet. I stood there for 50 minutes before I even got to the counter. FIFTY! Then my cashier Yvette slowly started to scan my now-thawed items. Slowly. One. At. A. Time. And into the bags they slowly went. The misery was almost over. Almost. Yvette clearly didn't know how to bag groceries. She put our produce and fruit underneath heavy items like our juice and completely overloaded all of our bags. By the time we got home over half of our bags were torn and items had or were falling out of them. Thankfully, after that ordeal I didn't have to go back to Walmart to get anything else because it had fallen onto the ground from a torn up, ripped bag. If I could give less than 1 star, I would. If you have pictures you want transferred to your phone...do NOT go here..the machines are a 1000 years old...also, the store is dirty and there are rarely any staff around to assist you..that said, when I finally did find someone they were very polite and they helped me find what I was looking for, even though it wasn't that person's department. Wal-Mart is the pinnacle of shopping. Theres everything you need in one place. Where else can I get a sonic the hedgehog shirt that says "gotta go fast," and grapes for my sunday lunch. Wal-Mart is probably the best department store around, and you can't get much better than it. The clothes I might add are great quality at a low price, and I love the shirts that say "I'm really poor," but ,"I'm really smart with my money." Great store, and even better people. read more

i have heard many people complain of the heat in this walmart staff are very forceful towards people to use self checkouts and some people have anxiety about the self checkouts and it can lead to more human interaction than necessary sometimes. they have moved the basics such milk and cheese to the back of the store as a senior i have a difficult time walking so far for basic items. i bought a walmart coin key chain and it is very cheep quality as it bent and i now have a difficult time to get it off of the key chain never mind getting the carts apart and when you put the cart back, it is also a hassle. they often do not have in stock what other walmarts do. especially pet items for cats and small animals. security follows people based on looks not actions. the store in general is far more difficult to navigate now there has been times i have felt faint from walking so far in the heat of walmart. i have been a longtime customer of this walmart and have seen its decline over the years. read more

I was in this store on January 3rd. It was quite busy compared to normal. The ladies washroom was filthy!! I am talking actual feces on the toilet seats of FOUR of the five stalls. I have never in my life been into such a filthy washroom and I am a seasoned traveler!! I asked another lady if she had reported the issue and she said she had. I gave up after trying to get into the supposed one clean stall and went into the health clinic and they kindly allowed me to use their washroom. There is no excuse for this. read more

I was in the Sage Hill Walmart today looking for a new toaster. I found one that had a sale tag on it for 29.99 saying regular price was 41.99. When I grabbed the box off the shelf the sale tag fell off revealing the REGULAR price of 29.99 If you are going to deceive your customers, make sure you get your employees to rip off the regular price tags before inflating the price and then price them with the regular price as a sale price! Wow, what terrible terrible terrible- did I say terrible customer service. Went there to look at a duvet, found one on a shelf that said $39.99, when I went to the cashier the duvet scanned at $79.99.. I stated that it was the wrong price, the cashier and I walked over and she started to explain how the skews work.. I told her it was not my problem that the duvet was in the wrong area, isn't that why they have staff? As I was talking to the cashier two co-worker came up and started in on me.. On the way back to the till, the cashier found the Assistant Manager, the manager and I went to the duvet section and she flat out said to me that she would not honour the $39.99 price.. I stated I would even pay $54.99.. She flat out said NO... I then asked her name and she stated she was the "Assistant Manager" No name was given... The funny thing- she put the duvet back where I had originally found it.. So what is she going to tell the next customer that she isn't honouring that price because it was in the wrong area? I highly recommend NEVER ordering photo cards from here. Both my wedding thank you cards and Christmas cards were very late. Walmart sends their cards to another business in Edmonton to be printed. I called this business numerous time to cancel my Christmas card order as they wouldn't be here by Christmas they were so late. The number I was given just rang and rang with no answer. I eventually called my credit card to cancel the transaction. If you are looking for cards using photos, I highly recommend Black's photography. This store needs a management team. It is obvious that the ones there now have had NO training nor do they even use common sense. Went to electronics for a battery and could not find it. 2 staff at counter and no customers. My husband asked about the particular battery. The clerk looked over to the battery section, pointed and and said they're over there, and if you don't see it, we don't have it. He never offered any assistance . Went to pick up lettuce. Numerous bag holders and not one bag. Was there in the winter, temperature was -40degrees. The last teller by the door was so cold that she had on her jacket , hat and scarf.. There were 3 empty tills much further inside where it was warmer. The store is dirty, stock is low and as said before, staff have no management to supervise and guide them. Moral is poor. not first time i made stupid attempt to reach a real person by phone...but this time i called main # listed on line...same female voice answered phone first time...put me on hold for courtesy desk...no answer...same female voice picked up my call...said same thing...transferred me...no one picked up...same female voice picked up again...said she wud page courtesy desk...some one else picked up and again said they would page courtesy desk...i was on hold for 28 minutes...i was too stubborn to hang up...new female voice picks up...i said oh my u must be busy...she says...i was on my break and the other staff dont know how to use the phone...and she puts me on hold again...then another female answers...i say i want courtesy desk...get put on hold again...but then a clear english speaking woman answers and i ask her to please check if my debit card was turned in on thursday nite...she put me on hold...at the 34 minute wait being on hold now... see if i have enuf stamina to ask to speak to a manager once they tell me...probably...that my card was not turned in...grrrrrrrrrrrr horrible telephone service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! clerk came back on to say no cards turned in...she took my name and # to call me if it did... i didnt have enuf patience to try to complain to a manager.. that was an incredible 43 minutes of being mainly on hold listening to annoying muzac!!! read more

I used to do my grocery shopping at this Walmart but the selection is bad(or the shelves are empty) the prices a worse than superstore or no frills and if you dare to ever bother the staff with an inquiry they act so inconvenienced either tell you to come back another day or tell you that that's not their job. read more

I shop at this Walmart about once every two months if I have something to pick-up that I could not find elsewhere (or for a lower price). I shop at this Walmart more frequently because of the convenient access to public transit - the #301 Bus is about a 3-4 minute walk so you could get to Downtown in about 10 min. The store itself is a typical Walmart store - everything under one roof, low prices, and somewhat cluttered. Also, this store is directly connected to Westbrooke Mall so you can shop at the mall after going to Walmart without having to walk outside (unlike the Deerfoot Walmart). read more

Very Bad Experience in the Photo Department where they they take photos. We went to get baby pictures done for Christmas and they had no arrangements for the child. My baby was falling more than half of the time. The manager was busy training the employee and was least concerned about the child at all. The moment the child would smile, she would be talking and chatting and miss the opportunity for my childs best pic. Then she took some random shots, I had to pay and the amount of irritation it caused my kids was unbelivable. Overall very very bad if you have to get kids pics done.
