So I walked in yesterday and bought my dad a Christmas gift. (Yes, I start early so I still have money at Christmas!) I bought a 500 Watt Halogen light for his shed. It was only $17.98. I brought it to the counter and asked why this 500 Watt lamp was cheaper than the 250 Watt lamp ($19.00), but they said they didn't know. Also when checking out, it was pouring down rain. Pouring. I was not given a bag for my purchase. So i ran to my car with the bulky box that now has rain demples on it. Good prices overall and I'm sure I'll be back.

He was beyond helpful in assisting and answering my questions and even went outside with me to double check exactly which light it was that was out. Previously I had to drive to Fredericksburg, more than 18 miles, to get to the nearest Advance location. The managers at this store are very good, and have a lot of automotive and parts knowledge. There does seem to be some turnover among the staff, but usually I can deal with String Stringfellow or another store manager. I have had very few problems there, and those have been minor. I dropped off a car battery there to be tested/charged recently, and when I returned it turned out the battery had been lost. But their records showed my battery had tested out as defective on their machine, and was still under warranty, so they gave me a brand new battery, and I was on my way! This store handles internet orders very well and very promptly. It is super convenient to be able to order my parts on their website, and then pick them up at the store. Store-pickup of internet orders is a breeze; which is not the case with some other retailers who say they have in-store pickup of web orders. Advance also regularly runs specials/promos on their website, which enable me to get at least a 15% discount with almost every internet order I place with them. The Bealeton Advance Auto Parts store is definitely one of the better auto parts stores I deal with as A DIY mechanic; and is the first place I check when I need something for one of my cars and trucks.

I recalled an O'Reilly store had opened up just up the street so I figured I'd have a look and see if they carried bolts. I walk into the store and I am the single customer. Two people behind the counter; a young lade and man. No greeting, no "can I help you"... they were interested in nothing except chatting to each other. I located the small selection of bolts in the store after a few minutes and I asked the young man if he had a thread gauge for the bolt. He responded with "no" and offered no assistance. I said "well then", set the bolts on the counter and walked out. I definitely wont go back anytime soon, if ever.

1 star. Absolutely terrible experience…read more I brought my BMW here thinking I would save money compared to the dealership. Big mistake. They quoted me around $2,950 for an oil housing replacement, while the dealership quoted $3,000. So there is basically no price advantage at all. Then it got worse. On the first day, they gave me my car back without the underbody cover at all. When I came to pick it up, I clearly told them that I would take the cover myself and they didn't need to install anything, but instead they handed me someone else's cover, which does not even fit my car. On top of that, I had insurance that was supposed to cover specific damage, but they opened a claim for everything they possibly could, creating unnecessary complications. I would not recommend it to anyone.
