Hey man, it's USED tires. Naturally, that's going to mean catch as catch can. That being said, these folks are super nice, and if you can find the tires you want, they will hustle to get them installed onto your car, for a great price. I walked in yesterday evening, and they let me look in the back room for my size tire. I selected two matching sets of decent looking tires, and 30 minutes later they were installed on my car for $200 total. They also were kind enough to install my new TPMS sensors. If you need them to plug a tire, it's $15, and they're just as quick about that as well. Again, it's USED tires. You're not always going to find what you want. But, if you do, Ron's will not do you wrong. read more

In my past experience with other Ron's used tires, they were bad but since I was new to Gainesville, I had to give them a chance. I walked in and got my model y tire replaced without issues, and they were able to replace all four tires including tpms installed. Some are not good in English and the lounge is not suitable for hang while the tires are being replaced. read more

We didn't go here for an auto tire but a crazy cart tire. We walked in with the assembly and the tire replacement, along with the crazy 6 year old who put the whole on the 1st tire. They indicated they really didn't do work like that, but would be happy to try. It took them about 15-20 mins upon the completion we asked how much we owed? The two guys just smiled and says "Nothing, it's fine." Then talking to the 6 year old they handed him the wheel and said "Here you go buddy, have fun!" I've been using this place for a while for rotating and balancing tires but today was different. I stopped by and requested that four tires be checked for balance. Apparently they have a new employee who doesn't understand what checking for proper balance means. This smarta$$ says we don't check for balance... we don't balance because our equipment isn't really good...we just guess at it. LOL. What a moron. So! Jiffy Lube recommended I come here to Ron's to get a patch as my tire was leaking. I pulled in. Told the guy at the counter I had a tire issue. He asked me to pull into the bay. He immediately jacked up the back of the car, took off the tire. Showed me the horrible nail embedded and took it in the shop. 2 min later he's putting the tire back on my car and says meet me inside. I go in. He says $15. (WHAT?) I gave him a $20 and told him how great he is. :-) It took longer for me to write this than it did for him to change and plug my tire! SWEET! read more

First time visiting this place and the lady who was working told us there is a long wait. We were totally okay with the wait, we asked if we can see the tires that will be replacing our old ones and was told we are not allowed to see them. It all seemed odd. She went back to ask if we can and she came back frustrated and said "No, we can't" and sudden they don't have 4 tires. It seemed like just about anything we said it just bothered her. The answer we got to any question was "I just work here and it's the owner and not me" even though the question did not require this answer. Us: how long will it take? I had an emergency that needed to be taken care of and these guys got me in and out in a matter of less than 10 minutes. I had a nail in my tire that had been ok for a few days. I kept going to Walmart to have them plug it but they are always extremely busy and I am unable to wait for the 3hrs they always quote me. I was out and about in an unfamiliar area, pulled up to the bank, got out and heard air coming out of my tire. The nail had come out and the tire was slowing deflating. I quickly tried to place the nail back in to stop the air from coming out any more. Hopped on google to find a tire repair shop. Luckily this place was about a mile down the road. I pulled in. They plugged the tire and when I looked at the job, it was better than a plug I had gotten from NTB in the past. OK, time for brutal honesty. I've referred many people here over the years working from a car dealer. And some of the reviews here have said some interesting things, not just at this location but at other Ron's. So here is the most objective but honest review possible. I had to replace all 4 tires on my car. I called a few times and they didn't have my size, and went in once to see, but there is no live person in the building. You'll stand there and wait endlessly until you decide to poke your head into the garage. One time a small child had been sitting behind the desk the whole time while I paced for 15 minutes. When I finally noticed him I had to ask him to go get someone. I learned after that just to walk into the garage. Yes, there is a stark shortage of customer service. But you need to remember that in America we expect frills and smiles and a pat on the ass, and that doesn't necessarily speak to the quality of their services. There is a big language barrier here, which is still frustrating. Trust me, the frills make us feel better and more secure so I get it. The case here is most likely a lack of professional training working with people. Cars, sure, but you need to service the person too. This is a several ton, hurtling death machine so I get wanting more service level when you're having someone adjust your moving death machine. So I bought my own tires and drove in. They said $80 and about 20 minutes, which was accurate. However other reviewers from multiple Ron's locations will say they feel conned into paying cash with some suspicion as to why. He gets to work on the tires and asks if I am paying cash, to which I say no, credit. He shakes his head and says the CC machine is down - so I say OK, I have no cash so I can go or I can write a check. He didn't say anything but got to work anyway. I knew at that point there was nothing wrong with the CC machine, it was a ploy to try to get me to pay cash. Otherwise, that's pretty bold to get to work anyway when you're told the customer can't pay in your preferred method... I hung out, and he pointed out a broken lug nut and seemed concerned. He stared at it, at me, and in silence I wondered what I was supposed to do or say. I asked if he could fix it or if it was still at least safe to replace the tire so I could get it fixed tomorrow. He didn't say anything affirmative or negative but again just shook off and disappeared. Another gentleman came over and he was very nice and a bit more articulate, and I leveled with him and asked if it's safe to replace the tire if I took care of the issue another day and he said "oh yeah, its fine temporarily just letting you know." Now, I know it's important to fix but I also know I'd clearly been driving around on these crap tires like this for 3 years, so another 2 days would be a risk I was OK with taking until I saw another mechanic. Overall though, had I had less insight or research into what to expect, I'd totally understand why unsuspecting people would be shocked coming here. Not shockingly at all, come pay time the CC machine worked effortlessly as if they forgot they told me it broke. This likely has to do with fees associated in using it, not some shady business practice - they just aren't very articulate. But, if you own a business you have to spend money to make it, so a better personality in the office who can handle customer issues is probably the answer and some savvy with running a business. I had my brother, who works with tires, check the install and it looks good. They do good work, but they don't represent that very well and aren't overly communicative when there are problems in a way that you can understand. Still, you can find new or pre-owned and certified tires elsewhere for peace of mind and bring them here for install. It's still far less expensive than other places and much quicker. read more

Got there at shortly before they officially closed at 7 (bad customer I know) but all I needed was a patch as I have a screw in my tire and they said they were closed and couldn't help. Have previously bought my tires there and will now never go back. Have already let friends and family know to never go there again. read more

The best. The guys that work here are beyond friendly and have helped me and my friends and family out on various occasions with emergency tire repair/replacements. They also have very reasonable prices on mounting and balancing so if you online shop for tires - bring them here and they will get them installed. WOW. Ron's used tires didn't fully complete their work for my vehicle. Yes they were busy but should the customer have to suffer because of this. I had 4 wheels replaced and they did not replace the sensors in my tire. So thanks to Ron's I have a safety issue due to inadequate breaking due to no wheel sensor and a check tire pressure light that currently stays on. So when I called and asked why this was done, the employee saif you didn't ask us to change the sensor, and we were busy. Well let's make Ron's less busy next time by moving on to a tire place who takes your safety more seriously. read more

BAD TIRES, Not Once, but Twice - I was extremely patient as I waited 1 month for the on-site manager to wait for two decent tires to come in. The first set of tires was heavily cracked and one was 9 years 3 months old and the second set one of the tires was of two different threads and the other tire warped. The on-site manager admitted the tires were bad but he said that's all he had in stock. He said he looks every day but should have something by Friday. Today is the 4th Friday and I'm done waiting. I do not giving bad reviews but I've called you regularly once a week, stopped by and still no tires. read more

This place is great. I have an older Civic that needed a tire, but I had no desire to put brand new tires on a car I'm probably going to sell soon. Stopped by Ron's, they had a new one on and I was out the door in minutes. A few days later, our other car got a flat because of a hole that needed to be patched. Super impressed with service and price and quality of tires. I paid $180 total for four used tires today. Brand new they're $155 plus installation, even with a special Costco had two weeks ago plus rebate they were going to cost over $500, which I definitely did not have. I watched them mount and balance, I was a nervous after reading the other reviews but had no problem. A friend had gotten her tires there and recommended them. SO glad I called and decided to try them out. They were really friendly and helpful too. They had put two different rates tires (h vs v) on the back which I caught and they corrected it no problem. They also checked the tires for any leaks. When I got there they had two clients which they were finishing with, by the time I left they had about 5-6 people waiting, busy place. You get what you pay for here. This is a no frills auto shop that makes you literally want to be in an out. I purchased four tires online and had them mounted and balanced here at Ron's. The job cost me a total of $64 which is apparently a great deal, and I was able to get car back after an hour. So far I have no complaints but I'll be sure to keep you posted if something happens (fingers crossed). read more

I had to get three tires on my car to pass inspection, I thought it would be a good idea to utilize Ron's Used Tires. On my way there my car drove fine, didn't pull in any direction and didn't vibrate. After they got done changing my tires I paid my bill and left. I noticed immediately that the car pulled to the right and the steering wheel was vibrating. I brought it back and they tested the balance of one of the wheels and said everything was fine but I should take it to their manasses shop because "they have a better balance machine". I did so, with the car still doing the same shake and pull routine and when I got there and the mechanic checked my wheels pointed out to me that one of my rims were bent. I told him it wasn't doing that before I got to his Gainesville shop and that they must of bent it. He simply said "I don't know how it happened but I'll put a bunch of weight on the rim to keep it from shaking". What a joke!!! Do not utilize any Ron's Used Tires, they are a joke and a bunch of scam artist. Not to mention after all this, the very next day I find out there is a nail in one of the tires. SAVE A LIFE! This is the very last place to get any tires from, except if you are having a bon fire with the owner and his helpers. I won't go into too much detail because this may escalate beyond "Yelp". Tires: TWO charged $16 mount and balance... DID NOT BALANCE EITHER TIRE WHATSOEVER. Sent my daughter off to college and had to have her return the car to me so I could have it repaired. CREATED: Alignment issue, Lost ONE hub cap from the violent shaking from the replaced tires. There was NO excuse why this should happen and the conversation was recorded during the return trip to make hem BALANCE the tires. SHORT CUTS, OVER TIGHTENED LUG NUTS, and OVERPRICED for poor help, poor assistance, completely lacking safety measures. DO NOT GO HERE. I didn't have the problems the other people are saying. I will say I think their tires are expensive at $38. I got about 10 - 15K miles on them. I could do much better just buying a new tire. I also asked how much they would charge to mount a tire if I provided the tire. They wanted $20 each. Again, expensive. read more

I have done business with rons for years. Mostly satisfying. Let me tell you the gainsville operation failed me twice in the last two months. Once with a tire they added a piece of metal inside the tire. I actually brought the tire back thinking my flat was caused by some one on my job. They replaced the tire but two weeks later , the tire purchased two months prior failed. It was not balanced and car soon shaked right after they gave me the new tire. I think they are not inspecting there used tires well and have employees that want to play the rip-off game to get customers coming back. I will never return. I needed to change the two rear tires of my Chrysler T&C. My minivan is pretty old and I did not have the bandwidth to spend a fortune on it for its new front tires. I visited Ron's on a Saturday afternoon sometime in July. I was given a great deal ($80 for a pair of decent 215/70R tires). Mike who was at the service counter was very courteous and also provided a courtesy service of swapping the tires around. They also did a good job of balancing the wheels. It just took us about 25-30 minutes to select the tires, get the work done, and be out of the workshop. I have been on three major road trips after that and have driven about 4000 miles without any issues. If they continue doing their work in the same fashion, I won't b surprised if they get many more 4 or 5 stars in the future. read more

For the first time ever I had 2 tires that I'd purchased from a colleague that needed to be put on my car. I came here and asked if they would put them on. They did but I noticed a shuddering through my steering wheel when I left. I thought this meant I needed alignment so went to another shop. They told me my tires had not been balanced. Ron's tires did not even offer to do this when I was there. I was naive at the time and never thought to ask. But really, why would they let a car drive away without balancing the tires? Save your money and time and do not go here!! We got 2 used tires for our car about 2 months ago. The front, right tire was put on incorrectly and has given us so much trouble since. It started shredding a few days ago (which is to be expected because it is used). We tried to get it removed and replaced in 2 different places and were told the tire was put on too tightly and a stronger drill would be needed. So, we are looking at a $900 bill because of the amount of labor and time that is currently required just because of the tire being put on incorrectly. I always try and take reviews with a grain of salt and Rons didn't necessarily paint the best picture. However after using their services I would tell anyone hesitant to go there that it's quality work with fast service. I called around to get some pricing on new tires for my car and minimum I was looking at 400 bucks including installation. I called Rons and they had my tires in stock and said all I needed to do was come by and they would get it done. I got to the shop around 10:30am and they were just starting to work on another customers car, but had gotten to me by 10:40. At 11:05 I was walking out the door with 4 barely used tires a 30-day guarantee and with a bill of 190.00 including installation and balancing. As soon as I pulled into the bay they started working and not just one guy... both men that worked on my car were friendly and quick and made sure my tires were balanced perfectly. No they weren't overly friendly, but they weren't rude and they made sure to let me know what was covered with their service, never any hidden charges or "finding out something was wrong". You can bet I'd give this place a recommendation and I'll be using their services in the future! Thank you for making my life a lot easier! read more
