I originally came upon this location after an unfortunate situation of having my car towed. This spot is right next to where you go to pick up your car after u pay to have it back! Once I got into my car, I noticed that I needed an oil change and quickly resorted to the next-door location at the time. The owner was a lovely older, Persian man, very patient, so kind, and took the time to explain everything to me. As a woman who is younger, I always feel nervous that I'm being overcharged or ripped off when I try a new shop. However, I cannot express enough how I did not experience an ounce of this here. I believe the name of the shop is different online, and it can be tough to locate the exact spot. I would certainly suggest the owner of the business update the google listing for easier identification. I went there again recently (at this point I know it by memory and it's saved me quite a few times) and unfortunately learned that the owner had sold the business. I sincerely wish him well, and I still encountered great workers this time. Still very kind, quick and professional and they also operate very courteously. I wanted to give this place a try, as they had great reviews, and they were great. I came to this location on 10/24 and 10/25/2023. I showed up around 2:10 and was quickly attended to. I wanted an oil and filter change with my own high-quality oil and filter supplied. Carlos was great and took care of it quickly for me. In the end the oil and filter change cost me $37, even with my own materials supplied, which isn't a bad deal for their time and disposal services, all things considered. I had intended to get a VA emissions/inspection done the same day, but for whatever reason, the inspector had to leave early that day (10/24). Thinking maybe I had missed an hours chart or calendar online I asked Carlos about that instance, and he said it isn't something that usually happens, and is quite irregular. There was another customer who came into the shop while I was there wanting a VA emissions/inspection too, and left annoyed/disappointed. Hopefully this inspector isn't costing the shop too much in his failure to deliver his services. They said he'd be back the next day, so I came in at the same time the next day (10/25) - It was only right down the road from my place of work. The shop was small, but comfortable. There's a small bathroom, a few chairs and a bench seat. There is a complimentary charging station, on the front desk. One improvement that the shop could make is their mounting solution for their plaques on the wall as you walk in. The strong winds were blowing their plaques off the wall, because they were only held on by a cork-board push-pin. I would recommend a more permanent and substantial attachment method. I also thought that it was amusing when I noticed they had, not one, not two, but FOUR stickers in the main shop window showing what credit cards they accepted... Hey, I guess as long as they're displayed and honored, right? One positive thing that I saw over other shops in the area was that there was a buzzer built into the desk, for you to ring, so you aren't sitting idle and just hoping that an office staff member or mechanic sees you standing there in the office. They also have a few spots for dedicated customer parking right as you pull into the shops strip. Obviously from what was stated, I didn't have any 'repairs' done, but I am always on the lookout for a good independent shop. I had a good time at this shop and shall be recommending it to other friends and persons in need, in the future. read more

My high mileage son's car failed inspection because high beams were not working. The car also had some suspension problems as well as a broken air conditioning. I received a detailed estimate of needed repairs including repairing the high beams , oil change, bleed and flush brakes, replace - front wheel bearing, sway bar links and serpentine belt. They also leak tested the A/C system and added freon for a cost of $150....only to tell me the compressor was bad. I had already added freon before but to charge me and I still have no A/C...bad, bad, bad! They charged me a total of $1076 including the $150 not to fix my A/C and a $41 adder because I used a credit card. I was dropped off and asked if I could drive the repaired car to my bank to get cash to save the $41 and was told "no". They don't accept checks either. I tried to give a new business a chance so my bad. I would not recommend patronizing this industrial park repair shop that charges dealer prices. Note that they did give me an estimate before doing the work, but I thought the estimate was to FIX my A/C not tell me what I already suspected. read more

I was lucky to find this place through my father. It has been a godsend. If you want honest service and honest assessments of your vehicle, then you need to bring your car here. Since I have started bringing my Volkswagen here my repair bills are a tenth of what they were. They tell me the truth about what needs to be done with my car and that is priceless. I had become used to taking my car to my local German repair shop and would walk out with no less than $1000 repair bills every time. Magically my car no longer has the systemic problems it used to. I have travelled and lived in many countries and cities and have never encountered as honest of a mechanic as Mr. Basir in Unique Automobile Care. My family and I have been visiting him now for a few years and he continues to impress us with his honest evaluation and care for our cars. Beyond that his service is punctual and professional. We have already highly recommended the shop to our local family and friends. An example of his honesty includes a recent visit in which we were out of town and had some car issues. We visited a local mechanic and were told that we have to complete an extensive list of expensive repairs. We waited till we were back and visited Unique Automobile Care and were told exactly the condition of the parts in question and at request even shown the issues and what was necessary repairs and what were not which saved us several hundred dollars on unnecessary repairs. read more

Part 1: Went for inspection, failed because of brakes ( I had already been told by dealer I needed new ones, but their price was outrageous.) Unique (Mr B) told me $500-550 total for new rotors/pads front and rear! When I asked him if he was going to use new rotors or reconditioned, he smiled and said, "new, I don't know how much time I have left" and looked up to the sky. He said, "if I cheat, I have to face him". I believe only a Christian would say that and I agreed to have him do the repairs. I will let you know how the job turned out after I pick up my car! I started to get some small puddles on the floor of my garage underneath my car. Based on touch and smell, I figured it was engine coolant but had no idea where the leak was coming from. I know some about cars but thought I'd take it down to Unique Auto Care since it was just down the road and also I had heard some good things about the shop. Upon arrival, the mechanic quickly took a look at my car and determined that the leak was coming from the radiator. He was very polite and professional and explained and showed me the problem which I really appreciated. Long story short, they installed a new radiator with no more leaks and everything runs great. Also, they didn't try to upsell any unnecessary extras like some other shops do and they even provided me with some recommendations as for things to keep an eye on in the future as well as good maintenance which I appreciated. Whoever posted before me was spot on! The owner of this shop really is a trustworthy and honest person. He told me that my windshield wipers could pass inspection but that they were really low and he suggested to get them changed in a month or two. Any other shop would have lied and slapped a big old rejection sticker on my windshield for it. (ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A FEMALE) I actually had received a rejection a couple years ago when I inspected my car at Jiffy Lube. Thank goodness I decided to go to unique automobile care (since they have most reasonable prices in the area) to complete the work that was required for passing inspection because the inspector told me that the $500+ in repairs weren't actually required to pass inspection. He told me that the only thing that was necessary to repair were the tires! Ever since then it became official, I will never take my car anywhere else as long as Unique Automobile Care is open! read more

I am sorry to say I did not have the same service as the other two posts. I went for an inspection, I noticed the owner has a thing for light bulbs on the car in front of me, he told the people you pay me cash I will fix the bulbs and pass it, so they paid $8.50 per bulb. So when it was my turn he also found a tiny bulb that was out, so he said to me $8.50 for the bulb or I fail your car, I told him I have been using his garage for three years, we have 4 cars and all of them were taken to his garage, but he was going to fail it for a tiny bulb that cost less than a dollar at auto zone. This is how he nickles and dimes ppl, every car he looks at he searches for lights out that he can charge stupid money for fixing, that literally take less than 15 seconds to change. He wont nickle and dime me any more. He also has a sign that says no credit card charges for less than $5.00, he is not allowed to set a minimum on credit cards, its against the policy for accepting credit cards, you are not permitted to set terms on how much or how little a charge is acceptable. If you do go there watch out for these tricks and for credit card restrictions. read more

We trust them completely. I do nearly all my own repairs and maintenance. I like to, have the tools and know how. The few times I didn't, Unique is the only place I'd go to. More importantly, if I'm not in town this is where my girlfriend goes. They do good work at fair prices. We trust them completely. Please take a look around the shop. It's clean, well equipped, and organised. Those are the indicators I've read and been told to look for when deciding who should work on your vehicle. We go to Unique for all our vehicle inspections, usually three to four vehicles between the two of us. Initially I went because they are so close to the Godwin Dr. DMV. The high level of service and strong indicators of a well run shop keep us coming back. We've never had any unnecessary service recommended. Twice we've needed bulbs replaced, the price charged is good. At the rate your employer compensates you for your time; pay yourself to drive to an autoparts store, do the installation, and then drive back for re inspection. I think you'll agree the better deal is to take care of it at the inspection station. read more

This owner is very honest and humble about what he is doing. He will tell you if there is anything wrong and would fix it at the most reasonable cost. I dont mind waiting little bit longer than other mechanic because I can see him working on my car. the shop may look empty but he is always working on the cars and he would not take more than what he is capable of fixing that day. What a bad experience , I had with this so called Mechanic B.W. I needed a fan (serpentine) belt replaced , I asked him if he could take care of it he said he could replace it for $50.00. I'm questioning his ability to perform the work properly , I supplied him with the fan belt. In the process of installing the fan (serpentine ) belt he broke the tensioner. He blamed it on the the fan belt , I gave him benefit of the doubt I called the supplier that provided me the belt. I explained that the mechanic informed me that I was given the wrong size of fan belt. At no time did the Mechanic B.W ever offer to replace or get the part for a lower price, he never offered to help me at all. I was surprised to find out that the Tensioner cost $137.12 ,the price soared from $50.00 to $187.12. After replacing the tensioner mechanic called me over to inform me that the fan belt was the wrong size , I interjected informing him it's impossible the supplier used the VIN number to provide the correct size fan belt. The tech once again tried to install the fan belt ( he discovered that he made a mistake, he was installing the fan belt incorrectly) this is the reason the Tensioner broke. After spending several more hours waiting for my car , time to leave finally. His son approached me informing me that it would be $90.00. I asked to speak to his father, B.W informed me that he spent several hours on my car and he needed to be compensated for his time. I tried to compromise with him to deduct the $50.00 from my cost for the part he broke $137.12 , he refused he didn't want to pay the difference after haggling with me for another 20 minutes. He threw $50.00 at me and told me to leave and never come back. I was there from 8AM until 3:30PM he wasted my day for in properly installing fan belt and it cost me extra money I didn't expect to pay. The worst Mechanic I've ever had to deal with , even after he damaged my wife's car I a gave him another chance and this is how he repays me. I will definitely will never recommend or come back to his shop. Stay Away from this shop. read more
