Piedmont Tire and Auto has my complete trust. Had purchased tires from them many years ago. Was recently told that I needed new tires, went to the usual tire places, received quotes and then remembered them. I called, told them the make, model, and wanted something good in snow, rain, and off road (for a Jeep). They answered a few questions, ordered the tires, I scheduled the appointment, got them put on, and when I went to pay thought it was a mistake because the price was so low. After paying, was driving off the lot and immediately noticed a huge difference - it rode much smoother. The next day, researched the tire brand thinking with such a low price, it was a bad brand - only to discover that the brand is a recognized one and of high quality; additionally, the specific tire's description specifies that it is made for snow, rain, and for off road. I love, love, love Piedmont Tire & Auto. The professionals are incredibly good, attentative, and polite. One recommendation is to either drop it off or Uber somewhere while waiting. Though they are efficient and operate, smoothly, they have a constant flow of customers. They appreciate buffer time to accommodate everyone. read more

If you want yourself and your family to be personally attacked on social media for criticizing a business, go to John Filippone! if you want to have perfectly intact parts replaced (oil pan) and be charged hundreds for them (albeit refunded at the price of a cliental) while the mechanic slams the door in the office after being questioned about it, go to piedmont. Questioning why an intact part was replaced will get you "fired as a customer". If you want to have the same issue regarding tire vibration that cut through 3 pairs of tires in around 2 years, go to piedmont. If you want to be told its balancing, no its alignment, no now 3/4 of your rims are magically bent the day after we replace and rotate your tires even though we stated the bend was not there when you brought it in 4-5 months prior but its absolutely not our fault and is "impossible" for it to be, go to piedmont and lastly, if you want your father repeatedly implied to be giving "bad advice" .. because i guess a young woman cant ask questions of her own accord regarding HER car.,. based upon a singular, previous appt where my father questioned why a perfectly intact oil pan (which now his oil leak is WORSE after going there AND they put regular oil in instead of full synthetic???) was replaced and charged, go to piedmont!!! Not just haymarket piedmont- all piedmonts! I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt for a long, long while, even referring my family there given their cult following- but 2 years later, at least 4 pairs of tire purchases later... i have the same problem i walked in with years ago, and now the owner, John, utilizes his platform of 33,000 locals to villainize prior customers, make personal attacks, and cruel allegations. Of note: John frequently offers money up for anyone to grab regarding either tire service, coffee, etc. If you contact him about this, he will warp it as asking for handouts. Also, on the very large facebook forum, the group rules state fundraisers must be approved by admin (him). If you ask him to post a medical fundraiser for medical equipment (saving a sick service dog), he will again warp it as asking for handouts to the public. He will then utilize his platform of 30k locals to bash previous customers- including posting their picture with name calling and cruel accusations. Amazing people!! Crazy nice! This shop is very busy because they are good! Better than good!! I was having car trouble while traveling. Stopped in with oil leaking and they went way out of their way to be kind, comforting, compassionate, and helped me get back on the road. Wes was the most professional, knowledgeable , transparent mechanic. He got us back on the road in the last hour of his busy shift. Kevin was the kindest, most caring person ever! He gave our dogs multiple treats, offered us space to charge our phones and suggested places we could walk our pups. I can't imagine a better place to go than here. !DO NOT COME TO THIS SHOP! I am speechless on how this supposed "mechanic shop" is still in business. I had them replace my radiator a year and a half ago and it left me broken down on the street 3 weeks ago leaking coolant everywhere. I went back to get my warranty claim and it hasn't even been a day and my supposed "new radiator" is now leaking again. Not to mention they broke one of my AC fittings and tried to cover it by saying they will replace it "free of charge". I am honestly so speechless and now wondering what kind of mechanics they are hiring because what was supposed to be a one to two day job they held my car for almost 2 weeks just for it to start leaking everywhere again. Honored a quote from Haymarket branch. When I had to have my car towed there there was no charge when they couldn't replicate the problem - they could've charged a diagnostic fee. Not unusual that they will let you know if something doesn't need to be changed/worked on rather than just going ahead and doing it. One and done experience. I went in on Saturday for an appointment to change all four of my tires. A new hire handled my service ticket. He ordered the wrong size tires and installed them and realized after he installed them that they were the wrong size and he couldn't put my old tires back on because they were too worn-out. The shop had to keep my car until Monday because they didn't have the correct size tires on Saturday. When I went to pick up my car on Monday, they expected me to pay full price. I was able to talk them into comp. The alignment. When leaving the shop, I asked the lady at the front desk where my vehicle was. She pointed to the west side of the building. After walking around I pressed my key fob and found my car on the opposite side of the building. A major headache for a simple car repair and they expect customers to pay full price after being inconvenienced with bad business practices. read more

I had to get my car inspected and an oil change. I agreed to drop it off on Monday thinking that it would be ready sometime on Tuesday. I called Wednesday afternoon to inquire about my car and was told they forgot to call me. I know they are bust but this is not acceptable. Too busy to give good service. Made an appointment for an alignment and was told the alignment guy gets there at 7:30. I get there at 7:30, then told the alignment guy will get there at 8:30. Shuttle drives me home and I wait and wait. Supposed to take 30 minutes for the alignment. I call at 9:30, was told they're going to do it now...WHAT?????? They call me at 10am and was advised the shuttle is on the way and it should be gone by the time I get there. It was. A lot of hassle for me, they really should have given me 10% off for my trouble, but no. On the repair order receipt, they did not list the mileage...what reputable repair shop does not put the mileage down. It's nice to know at what mileage I had the alignment...LAME!!!!! Went to pick up my car and after waiting in line was told by the associate my car was out back indicating the location to be the west side of the parking lot. I go out there and my car is no where to be found. I do two laps around the building looking for my car and its no where. Now I have to get back in line and when its my turn the associate says I need to take care of the individual behind me first. So now its 30 minutes and no car so I leave and do another lap looking along the street and neighboring lots and nothing. I call and it just rings, so I go back in and the associate then says oh its parked near School of Rock. They parked my car two blocks away in an unsupervised lot and wasted my time waiting in line 3 times and doing laps around the building like an idiot. And it wasn't even in the front parking lot, was behind the building. Woman who works hates her job and just doesn't care and it shows how the whole store is probably run. TL;DR: Honest shop, good prices, fast service I have gone here on two occasions. Once to get my oil changed and emissions done. Another time to get my state inspection. I'm always a little wary whenever going to any auto shop, since many have tried to take advantage. However, I feel like this place is a very honest shop. I had even overheard one of the service men tell another customer that they would need to get new brakes, but to call around for prices before decided to proceed with service with Piedmont. Most places would railroad customers into servicing their vehicles at their shop, but to hear someone be honest and upfront with a customer was so refreshing. Both times, I was in and out in ~30ish minutes. They are fast, but efficient. And on top of that, very friendly and close to my house. I've been going to Piedmont T&A for years.... While i honestly believe that the staff there has the best intentions, they are completely overworked. I made an appointment a week out to get an oil change and a state inspection done. I made it very clear that i was not going to leave my truck there overnight and I was given an appointment a week out. I dropped my truck of at noon and was mistakenly under the assumption that i would get the service done that i scheduled. I called at 4pm and found out the oil change was done but the inspection would be done the next morning. Not going to happen. When i picked up my truck i had oil smudges on my driver-side door handle. Not good! When i looked at it closer the next day, i saw two spots with chipped paint. So, oil smudge was used to cover up that they slammed my door into something and tried to cover it up after. Again, I like the staff at Piedmont but 4.5 hours for a scheduled appointment and damage to my truck?? That's unacceptable! Am i going to have them fix my driver-door handle? Eh... my relationship with this company was a mixed bag... I had previously liked/used this company on 2 separate repairs. The 3rd repair ~ my vehicle was not ready when they called for pickup, . It had to be returned a 2nd&3rd time. I also paid additional monies for this repair that was estimated before my approval! The whole episode took five days to complete. We went to Piedmont Auto for serious issues with our Nissan Pathfinder. Piedmont worked the issue in a timely manner. However it wasn't 100%. We let them know, and the owner called us back, apologized, and went far above and beyond to make sure it was corrected 100%, whatever it needed. They take their reputation seriously, they are devoted to quality work, and they are honest and trusted. We will be taking both of our cars here for all work in the future. This place had me sitting around waiting for a day and half. Dropped my car off and they said it'd be done that day...call later and they say first thing tomorrow morning. Call the next morning and they say my car is second on the list and will be done by afternoon...call in the afternoon and they say it's next on the list AGAIN. When you say someone's vehicle is going to be done at a certain time, you should probably meet that time or at least be honest and give a more accurate time. I wasn't even getting major work done. Will most likely never get work done at this business again. UPDATE: over the phone I was told the work was $70-get there and they say $700...with barely any work done to the vehicle. Their pricing is straight forward and I don't feel like they are throwing in unnecessary services when I'm getting work done. I had some great experiences when stopping in to talk to someone. Having been a customer of NTB for as long as I can remember; I got fed up with bad service and workmanship. I took both of my vehicles to Piedmont and found their pricing to be very competitive. You'll want to take the full services package into consideration when they quote you a price. The price per tire is higher than NTB; however it includes more treadlife warranty, road hazard, roadside assistance, etc. Their customer service is very friendly at this location. I want to start this review by saying it is very upsetting that I have to write this. I have heard such wonderful things about John and Piedmont Tire and Auto. I've heard how John, and his company, really take care of their community, and have done wonderful things to help teachers. So, when I needed to get the output shaft seal replaced on my car, I contacted Piedmont Tire and Auto through Facebook Messenger asking for a possible estimate and to make an appointment. You can see the correspondence in the pictures above. I felt so taken care of with the prompt response, asking for my VIN number and a range of estimate for the replacement for the seal. I waited two weeks for my appointment, since they were completely booked, and on July 5th, I dropped off my car promptly at 7am, like they recommended so I could be out of there by early afternoon. I called at 12:40pm for an update and was told by Tyler, that they were "buttoning everything up and he would give me a call once everything was tightened and secured". So I thought to myself "Awesome, everything is going great." HOWEVER what then followed was absolutely ridiculous and completely lost my business or any recommendations I would ever give to teachers, or others looking for car repairs. I then received a call at 4:50pm, with a quote for $2,700. FIRST OF ALL, WHAT!? The original estimate was $350-$400, and SECOND, Tyler had told me at 12:50pm that they were "buttoning everything up and he would give me a call shortly once everything was tightened and secure." When if fact, they hadn't even started working on my car yet. After talking with the person who called me with the estimate, I wanted a better understanding as to why I was originally quoted $350-$400 through the messages on Facebook, but now I'm getting a quote for $2,700. I am very understanding and would have completely understood the original estimate not being entirely accurate, but $400 to now $2,700 was very concerning. I was extremely detailed in my original message to them about what I needed done to my vehicle. I was then transferred to Kevin who was right off the bat extremely rude. I understand they were extremely busy, but I was also a paying customer who had a very realistic question that anyone would have who was in my shoes. He began telling me people make mistakes and there was nothing he could do. He then went on telling me that he doesn't know who answers the Facebook messages but that they were completely wrong. From my understanding, John, the owner, is the one who answers the messages; so I mentioned that to him and then he began yelling at me about how people make mistakes and then went off about how he is 60 and works long hours and then went on about his dad is 80 and hates how the government tried to control people and he is done with COVID... absolutely nothing that dealt with my concern of the DRASTIC increase in price. Kevin then told me that he would personally go out to my car and see if the leak coming from the output shaft seal was something that had to be done right now or if I could just come get my car and leave. Mind you, they told me to drop off my car at 7:00am, and this is all happening at 4:40pm. He told me he would call me back shortly with an update. So I waited about 30 minutes and then said forget it, they had NO respect for my time, or what I was originally quoted and taking the time to explain to me why it was so drastically different, or even attempt to do something to try to make it right. I headed to Piedmont Auto and Tire to get my car, because I refuse to give my money to people who are so disrespectful of me asking or even acknowledging what I was originally quoted. When I was about 5 minutes from the shop, Barry called me and tried to help mend the situation by admitting he quoted me wrong, however the damage and upright disrespect from Kevin had already been done. Kevin never called me back to discuss what he found when he "personally would go out to my vehicle to look at the leak and give me a cal right back." When I walked in, Kevin chose to not come to the front and give a decent apology, or even tell me what he found when he went to look at the leak. He clearly didn't care at all about my business, which is perfectly fine with me. I will never give my money to a company that is so disrespectful. This is so sad after the wonderful reviews I have heard. However, I want to post this review because Kevin seriously needs to rethink his customer service and lashing out on customers. I know losing one customer probably doesn't mean anything, but I hope other see the provided pictures above and hopefully don't experience the same thing I did. read more

Just left dropping my car off and almost changed my mind because of the terrible customer service on the way out. Started off well very personable customer service experience. I forgot to grab something out of my car so I request to get my keys back.. The older gentlemen working there raised his tone in response to tell me... " I'm busy now I ask you and everybody if they forget stuff in there car" to grab it! (Which by the way he didn't ask me) smh...If I didn't need my car looked ASAP I would've got my car back.. I've had consistently good service at reasonable prices here for the past 4 years. They're always busy so I drop off vehicles the night before. This usually works out well. On one occasion while waiting I watched a senior citizen with disabilities come in. He needed a ride home, a standard service Piedmont provides. He was treated with care and respect. Nice to see. On another occasion I had my car inspected and failed at another local shop. They priced needed repair at $2400. Piedmont made repair at 1/3 the price including a re-inspection. What an absolute pleasure to get a new tire! They actually tried to talk me down in price (nicely) based on my use case -- less than 5 miles of driving a week for groceries. The young guy working the register -- Tyler -- was a living testament to good parenting. He put the tire on himself, adjusted the inflation on all the tires, and then stowed the spare in its proper location -- this, after retrieving the tire from a nearby warehouse. Their in-shop inventory had been depleted due to the rush, but they weren't going to make me wait until the next day. The shop was incredibly busy, it being the end of the month when all the late people come in trying to get their inspections/emissions done, so he had to pitch in -- and we greatly appreciated it. The other staff were all excellent. Very helpful and friendly as I watched them working with their customers (the ones in person, and the ones they talked to on the phone). When you're waiting in an auto shop, the only thing you can do is stare at your phone or people watch, and I chose the latter :). I can honestly say I didn't get that "scammy" vibe that you get at some tire places. Lastly, the bathrooms were clean! That says a lot about a company if they keep clean bathrooms. And of course, they had plenty of complementary coffee... I'll definitely be back. read more

This is most certainly not a troll account I called several times I can tell you the name of the person I spoke to, the multiple the tire quotes I received over the phone the multiple quotes I had printed out that suddenly changed when I arrived. They were bridge stones and the ones quoted On the phone just suddenly became $70 more expensive when I arrived and your technician said well if you want the ones that are cheaper, "technically they not rated for your vehicle and I shouldn't put them on there but I will" Also please explain how when you called me after I posted the review and I declined to speak to you because you were being rude that makes me a troll. Finally it's odd that you would say people don't trust yelp, it's more like people don't trust shady repair shops like yours now that we have a platform to voice our displeasure and post reviews of our interactions you have an issue with honest feedback. read more

Honesty is the best policy and no where else in our area do you get that than at Piedmont Tire & Auto in Gainesville. I am not a car savvy person and recently inquired over the phone about an oil change at 3,000 vs. 5,000 miles on my Prius. They could have said bring it in at 3,000 miles, but instead they explained that a Prius is good for 5,000 or more. I called this evening a couple of hours before the closing time listed on their site which is 8 pm on a Friday. The individual that answered the phone sounded annoyed when he answered and he did not identify the business. I asked if this was Piedmont Tire and Auto. The man angrily answered "Yes but we're closed. We closed at 5 and I can't get out of here because the phone keeps ringing. I can answer a quick question." Wow, these guys are the worst. I discussed the service with them and they said they had a part in the shop and tested it so I okayed the work. Left on a short 3-day getaway and contact them on my return. The guy I was dealing with flat-out lied about our conversation and lied that he couldn't contact me and that he tried about 30 times. They had my cell, my home phone and no calls from them on history and no voice mail. They still charged me $1000 for nothing. After giving these guys $Ks over the years I would go to a dealer before going here. If you use these guys good luck! I have never been lied to like I was by the guy I dealt with. I have had multiple vehicles worked on by Piedmont - 2006 Lincoln Navigator, 1997 Mercury Mountaineer, and most recently my 2015 Honda CRV. Every time they have given me excellent service at an excellent price. The owner and all of the mechanics take the time to explain everything that they have done and why - and give me maintenance tips so I can do a few things myself. Nothing but good things to say!!
