So I walked in yesterday and bought my dad a Christmas gift. (Yes, I start early so I still have money at Christmas!) I bought a 500 Watt Halogen light for his shed. It was only $17.98. I brought it to the counter and asked why this 500 Watt lamp was cheaper than the 250 Watt lamp ($19.00), but they said they didn't know. Also when checking out, it was pouring down rain. Pouring. I was not given a bag for my purchase. So i ran to my car with the bulky box that now has rain demples on it. Good prices overall and I'm sure I'll be back.

After placing my order, the tires arrived a couple of days later, and I scheduled an appointment for 6 PM. To ensure everything was in order, I called at 3 PM and was told the tires were available. However, at 4 PM, I received a text message canceling my appointment due to a material shortage. I called back and, after being placed on hold, was reassured that the tires were indeed in stock. When I arrived for my appointment, I was informed that I would need to wait, as my truck was pushed back in the queue. I ended up waiting until 7:30 PM, far beyond my original appointment time. At that point, I was told that they couldn't lift my truck because it weighed 14,000 pounds, a figure which was incorrect as my truck is only around 7,500 pounds. They then suggested unloading the tires into the back of my truck for someone else to install. Worried about potential warranty issues, I conveyed that if they couldn't lift my truck for installation, they would likely be unable to address any warranty claims. Frustrated with the situation, I decided to request a refund and left, feeling let down by the staff's lack of competence. I just wasted a lot of time for no reason

Not sure if they're lazy, incompetent, greedy, or a combination of those. After $800 and three weeks of "fixes" my car still did not run and was returned in worse condition than I brought it. After I told them I would pick up my car and take it elsewhere, they left the door open in the parking lot for days which not only drained the battery, but soaked the interior drivers side carpet. After several calls and voicemails left, there was no effort made to even attempt an apology, much less compensation or refund. Absolutely abysmal shop. I wish there was something positive I could add so it wasn't just complaints, but there were no redeeming moments. Truly the worst service department experience I have ever encountered.

Previously I had to drive to Fredericksburg, more than 18 miles, to get to the nearest Advance location. The managers at this store are very good, and have a lot of automotive and parts knowledge. There does seem to be some turnover among the staff, but usually I can deal with String Stringfellow or another store manager. I have had very few problems there, and those have been minor. I dropped off a car battery there to be tested/charged recently, and when I returned it turned out the battery had been lost. But their records showed my battery had tested out as defective on their machine, and was still under warranty, so they gave me a brand new battery, and I was on my way! This store handles internet orders very well and very promptly. It is super convenient to be able to order my parts on their website, and then pick them up at the store. Store-pickup of internet orders is a breeze; which is not the case with some other retailers who say they have in-store pickup of web orders. Advance also regularly runs specials/promos on their website, which enable me to get at least a 15% discount with almost every internet order I place with them. The Bealeton Advance Auto Parts store is definitely one of the better auto parts stores I deal with as A DIY mechanic; and is the first place I check when I need something for one of my cars and trucks.

He was beyond helpful in assisting and answering my questions and even went outside with me to double check exactly which light it was that was out. Unfortunately, this was the second Advance Auto Parts I had to stop by that morning, which they too did not carry the light I needed either. The staff member was so helpful and informed me that I might actually have to go to a dealership to see if it's the entire back tail light I'd have to replace. (Which ended up being the case) Awesome experience and so glad to have willing and helpful staff member here that went out of their way to make sure I was being assisted as best as possible.
