This is my review from November 2018 regarding our experience with obtaining a new car battery from this location. Spoiler alert: We had to go elsewhere. Read on. ---The Milpitas Walmart automotive department is a great opportunity to save money on car service, but only if you're looking for a way to kill time and NOT get results. Decide what value your time is worth before you opt to get automotive work done at this place. I remembered years ago when a coworker dropped off his car for an oil change at that particular Walmart, during lunch. It took them five hours to do the oil change. Along with the long wait time, the geniuses lost his keys. We told him that it was his fault for bringing it to Walmart. On the other hand, on a road trip near San Miguel, CA, our car battery died immediately after we pulled over and shut off the vehicle. After a jump charge from AAA, we were able to successfully get a new battery installed quickly at a Walmart in nearby Paso Robles within an hour. The service was friendly and efficient. It's 12:30 on Monday. The battery is going bad in the ancient '87 Dodge van we are loaning to my brother in law. If we do not fix the battery, brother in law will need to borrow our car for work the next day. We check prices on batteries. My neighbor suggests we get a used battery from Pick and Pull for $60.00. Good option, but, for $50.00, we see that Walmart's website has a new battery with a 1 year warranty and free installation that it says will fit the van. We really didn't need the best-of-the-best battery for that old vehicle. We called the store, and they said that they could install it today, but it would take at least 3 hours. We weren't in a hurry, so this would suffice. Around 1:30 pm, we drive to Walmart. After waiting in a slow line, we set up the appointment. We have another car and errands to run, so it's okay to leave the van. At 5:00, my husband gets a call that the van will be ready within fifteen minutes. And then, at 5:15... Oopsy. The auto department has just discovered that the $50.00 battery was the wrong type for the vehicle (even though their website selected it for us). They next suggest a $100.00 battery, but, 10 minutes later, they find the only one in stock is completely dead (and possibly defective). Then, they find a $120.00 battery that is the correct one. After all the jacking around on OUR time, my husband said NO, and drove the van home We are tired of the wait. He was grateful that it was able to hold a charge and just enough to get it home even in miserable traffic on southbound 237. I was angry that the store could not at least even give us a good discount for the value of our wasted time. The $120.00 battery option almost sounded like bait and switch crap, however, it was doubtful that they were actually competent enough to master that manipulation technique. They just didn't care. Game plan today is check the battery, then go get one from Costco and install it ourselves. This is your scene if you like visiting places that make you fondly remember your wait times at the post office or DMV. The Milpitas Walmart Automotive center IS my *LAST* choice for any automotive work.-- I hope this information about Walmart's Milpitas Autocenter will help someone out. The van was on its last legs. The engine died a month later. It met its fate at San Jose Pick n' Pull soon afterwards. Best of luck. I mean it. This isn't fun. read more

The tech who did the oil change on my car over torqued the oil drain plug. Also, he lost the screws that bolt the lower engine splash shield so he used zip ties to install it. What a fool. I'll never take my car there again. Zero trust. Never had any problems when the dealer does oil changes. read more

My experience was great when coming in to get some tires. I picked them, they took my keys, I did some shopping and had an early dinner with my husband and son, came back about 1.5 hours later (there were 3 people ahead of me so they said it might be about that long) and paid for the tires and tire installation. I feel I got a fair price. Despite being short staffed, I appreciated their patience and though I came around to get my car close to 7pm (closing time), they didnt act bothered. Showed me good customer service, shared a chocolate with my 3 year old and we hit the road. Been a few days since the installation, all looks good. Thank you! read more

This place. His team members and his service managers are the worst service I have been into. First when I bought my tires they damaged my rims. They didn't took any responsibility for what they did. Even when I reported at the same time after just get my tires installed 2 minutes after that.. then at the time I bought the tires I also pay for the tire flat warranty they offer and I went to the store in Milpitas (301 Ranch Dr Milpitas CA 95035) and happens again.. they reject even including me on the list to fix my tire. They reject doing it !. They said they have 6 in line and they were not accepting any other walk-in even their employees were only taking care of one car and the others two spots were empty. I really want to communicate this to all you out there. Their employees don't take care about your car. They think they are CEO's of Walmart. And they do wherever they want. They will damage your rims as they did to mine (never received a call or email or any response) and they don't want to admit or do something to encourage better practices. I sat there for over an hour just for them to tell me that my car could not be completed because of its modifications. I have been using walmart tire service for 25 yrs, bought a 2001 Toyota Sequoia and the vehicle had 2 almost new tires the rear needed replacement tire center said those tires are discontinued due to blow outs at high way speed, I've had 4X4s most of my life I'm 64yrs now retired aircraft mechanic, so 4 new tires and $900 later I'm happy and leave I also always get the road warrenty 4 1/2 yrs later wife went to get oil changed and rotate tires, they change oil rotate tires then they get my wife out to service bay and show her 6in. split's in all 4 tires, in the tread. She asked about the $27 per tire warrenty the said for get it. These tire have a 50 thousand miles warrenty and I only have 6 thousand miles on them. Walmart do not do vehicle inspection well a auto inspection is due soon and they said it will not pass inspection! Now starts the law suit! read more

I had a pair of batteries that I warrantied here. I held on to my receipts & the assistant MGR and associate tester my batteries. they failed the test & they were able to swap my batteries out with new ones. thanks! read more

Bought the tires on line got an email saying they were in and came there and moderate wait to be helped in the service department paid for the mounting and balancing and they where done in a satisfactory amount of time happy with prices and services I received at this Walmart.. read more

If u have all the time in the world, then this place is for you. I wanted a rotation of tires and oil change. It took me all day. They first the oil change which took about 3 hours, then I had to get in line again for the oil change, another 3 hours. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. tl;dr - Went to get an oil change, they lost my key, and I had to get reimbursed through their shitty insurance company, which took over a year. I went to Walmart to get an oil change back in March 2017. They told me it would be a 2-3 hours for the entire thing, but when I asked them about my car 3 hours in, they had told me they lost my car key and they haven't even started on it. The employee at the front desk, Kylee, had lost my key and went home even before she found my key again. The Walmart employees tried looking for my key, but they never found it so I had Uber my ass back home to get my spare key. They also said they would fully reimburse me if I ever used a locksmith or got my locks replaced. I ended up going to my dealership to get my locks replaced since I didn't know where my key was, so anyone could have access to it. The same day, Walmart called me back to say they found my key but I got my locks replaced. I brought the bill to them to get reimbursed, but they said they could only reimburse up to $300 while the actual cost was around $1,200. They told me to get in touch with Claims Management, Inc (CMI), their insurance company. Blake was the one who handled my case, but their company is a scam or smth because they weren't there 99.9% of the time. Legit it was like no one even worked there. Each time I called, it went to voicemail, and my calls were never returned. I was calling them multiple times a week for over a year until after countless phone calls and emails, they finally got back to me. Good news is that I FINALLY got my reimbursement. read more

This is the 2nd time I came by to have my car oil-changed and they closed. The first time I came during Sunday around 3pm, and they said they wouldn't accept any more car because there still were many cars waiting. Then again today at 1:45, they closed again too and said there were like 16 cars waiting so they won't take any more. The things are there were only 6 or so waiting outside. The staff were rude and definitely didn't give a crap about customer service! read more

If you want to get your blood pressure up go to this store. I was attempting to do business the tire department and after the rude greeting I received from one of the employees in the service department I ended up locating the store manager for what it's worth. I told him about the poor customer service greeting (rude) I received and took my business elsewhere. Never never ever going back to this store even tho it's local. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I was the FIRST walk-in this morning. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation and 3 hours and 10 minutes later, my car was finally ready. The gentleman that took my "order" was surprised to see that I was still there 2 1/2 hours after he took my request. He checked-in on the status on my car and it turned-out that after changing my oil, the technicians set-aside my vehicle and forgot all about it. I bought 4 tires at walmart and had them balanced 3 times and car still shakes. They're tech said one had a broken belt. Walmart told me it was manufactured problem and they say it's walmarts problem. I have to buy new tires and I'm stuck. I'm going to come a complaint with bbb and attorney general. read more

"Satisfaction guaranteed" is the biggest joke I've ever heard! Walmart online has by far the worst customer service. Not even the supervisors listen or try to make things right. Keep in mind Walmart has a 30 min cancellation policy, and if your in that 30 mins and try to call and cancel but their customer service is closed, they will not do a damn thing to help you, nor listen to what you are saying. Oh and it takes 3 weeks to deliver a product to the store that ALREADY HAS IT! read more

I will be the first to review this place. Obviously Wal-Mart does not give a ish about their customers at all. I called the store and they said they don't make appointments and it's a first come first serve basis. They said to bring in my car and they'll be able to do it. They also NEVER pick up the phone and when they do, they put you on hold for a long time and give you incorrect information. I went in right after speaking to someone within 10 mins to get my tires mounted and balanced. It was 5 pm. The associate at the front, Khim, tells me they are unable to do it for me because they have 3 cars in front of me. I asked him what services are needed for the cars and what the estimate time for mounting tires was. He said one car needed an oil change, the other car was almost finished being serviced and another car needed to get their tires also mounted. He said it also takes 45 minutes to mount my tires. So I told him that I know for a fact that an oil change does not take an hour and a half to finish since they close at 630pm which their hours actually says 7 pm. But anyway, he then tells me they can't work on my car cause they need to take breaks and clean up still and to just come back when they're open. I asked to speak to a manager multiple times and it took him half an hour to finally arrive AFTER I complained to a CSM and they called him on the radio. I told the assistant manager, Ornin, my issue and basically says whatever the associate told me is basically it, but he can go check what's going on. While speaking with him the associate Khim went behind my back and spoke to another assistant manager so this ASM comes and interrupts and tells Ornin they can't do it and that she already knows the issue. He asked me why Im speaking to him when the other assistant manager was already there and I told him I dont even know where she came from, which I had a feeling cause Khim was asking another associate who the assistant managers are for today. I'm guessing he knows her because he was calling her "ate" in Filipino. Ornin goes outside and comes back in and says that Khim had told me at 5 pm they weren't able to do it and it was already 530 pm and was wondering why I asked to speak to a manager. I told him i asked to speak to a manager at that time and it took him half an hour to get here that's why and he got quiet then tells me they can't do it cause they have to do an oil change on another car. I asked him to write their names down and he didn't even know his associates name and had to ask him. When I worked at target the leads, executives and managers knew every person who worked at their store. I see Wal-Mart still has not gotten down the customer service part. A lady was also there trying to buy a battery since 5pm and they didn't want to help her out either. Telling her that she should've saved her receipt form two years ago and he didn't want to override anything. read more

Don't ever in your life come here unless you have the rest of your life to wait. I came on a Sunday afternoon when I arrived they were not taking anymore people. This was at 5pm when they close at 7pm. The following day I arrived at 8:30am and was told my vehicle would be finish in two hours (10:30am for 4 new tires as well as a oil change) at 10:10am I was told that my car was just being started at 11:15am they had still done absolutely nothing but remove my tires. I informed them I no longer wanted service and to place my tires back onto my car as I was going to be late for work at 1pm and worked way in berkeley. I then sat from 11:15am until 12:30pm just to get my tires back on my car as I watched the workers take personal cell phone calls and take their time I went to inform inside personnel who did absolutely nothing. I was late for work no tires no oil change horrible service old slow workers. When I went back in they were tell a man it would be 4hours for and oils change! Went there to have them investigate and repair a leak in my tire. For past few days when i got up in the morning my tire would be flat and wanted to see if it could be fixed. Took it to this auto care center and was told they were busy and would be 4 hour wait which i agreed to and had no problem with. After 4 hours was told the leak is in my side wall and could not be fixed and i had to replace my tire. I then asked them to mark the area which has the leak. Took the tire to get a second opinion at another place. When i went there they inspected the spot that was marked and could find no leak in the area Walmart had marked for me. They proceeded to find the real leak and fixed it. The real problem is that they had no issue in me waiting 4 hours to follow up with a lie and scam me into buying a new tire. If you ever go here always get a second opinion on any work done if you have them do anything at all. read more
