Summary: I picked up my car (same day) for a tire repair and got it back smelly and crusty. The staff shrugged me off. I have been a customer at this location for almost a year. Today, I took in my car got a free tire repair. When I picked up my car 3 hours later, I drove off as usual. Immediately, I noticed a strong, funky, patchouli (?) male cologne smell, but shrugged it off initially. However, within 5 minutes, I noticed that my hair was starting to smell as well. I am female and do not wear any kind of hair product, wax, or spray. I do not use scented products due to sensitive skin. I am the only driver of my car. I turned around and finally realized this weird residue on my headrest (see picture). The headrest was the source of this new odor. When I scratched at it, the resulting flakes (EW) smelled of the same male cologne. I headed back to the Americas Tire location and spoke to staff. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed by their response. I showed them the photo. They consulted with the techs who had been working on my car, which I appreciated. Their findings were that "one of them was wearing a beanie, and the other is too tall to match the marks on your headrest. No one is wearing significant gel." One of the gentlemen followed me out to look at my car. He essentially repeated the same. Now, the tire repair service was free. I'm not looking for any kind of compensation, I'm expressing that I am grossed out. And I would like to: 1) know what this residue is so I can best decide how to clean it 2) bring this to attention in the hopes that Americas tire takes customers vehicles hygiene seriously. The staff member apologized once but essentially shrugged. But the facts are - I left my vehicle in this businesses hands and received it back in dirty, smelly condition. This is unacceptable for customer trust. If the techs were supposedly not at fault, I would call into question: was there somehow other vehicle mismanagement while the car was parked outside the workshop? read more

Very disappointing experience. Customer service at this location is terrible. First of all, making an appointment seems completely pointless. I scheduled an appointment and showed up on time, but nobody seemed to care whether I had an appointment or had just walked in. When a new customer enters, the employees at the front desk barely acknowledge them. You can stand there waiting without even hearing a simple "Hi" or "We'll be with you shortly." The manager's attitude was even more disappointing. It honestly felt like he couldn't care less whether a customer stayed or walked out. There was no effort to resolve the situation or even show that my business mattered to them. On top of that, their refund process is ridiculous. Even when you don't pay with a credit card, they tell you that you have to wait several days to get your money back. I understand that processing times can exist, but combined with the complete lack of customer service, it makes the entire experience even more frustrating. There is a serious lack of organization and basic customer care at this location. Appointments seem meaningless, communication at the front desk is poor, and management gives you the impression that losing a customer simply doesn't matter. On June 15, I made an appointment and visited the store for a tire rotation. I sat there for 2 hours waiting for the service to be completed and finally Anthony Cox, the senior assistant manager, informed me that they had lost my car key! Apparently they had spent that time trying to find the key and had not even performed any service on my car. I had to arrange transportation for myself to return home and was without a car for a day which greatly inconvenienced me. The next day I called the Toyota dealership as well as arranged for my car to be towed to them in order to get a replacement key. When I called the America's Tire branch to notify them, they said they had gotten someone to come and make a replacement key. I was told I didn't need to go through the dealership and that I should cancel the tow. When I arrived at the branch they handed me the replacement key but upon inspection it was clearly not at the same quality level of the original. The plastic used for the key is cheaper feeling and there was no key ring included. But most importantly, the key is not properly sealed. There is a gaping hole where the LED light is so that water and dust could potentially enter and destroy the electronics. Also the battery compartment lacked a rubber gasket like the original which is another source where moisture can enter and damage the components. I asked to speak to the manger and had to wait there for over an hour until finally the store manager, Brad Edwards, talked to me and said it is a functioning key and that was basically all he could do. Clearly this replacement key is not acceptable. It may work now but its long term durability is questionable and what happens then when it inevitably breaks? If you lose my key, cause me great inconvenience and waste hours of my time, I expect at the very least to get a replacement key of equal quality, not to mention some sort of compensation for my wasted time and inconvenience. I am still very upset and not at all happy with how they dealt with this matter. Beware of this store. If they mess up they do not treat their customers properly. read more

One of my car's tire was a victim of vandalism. At first I thought it was a nail, but later found out by the mechanic somebody pierce through my tire with a sharp object. I booked an appointment with America's tire right away. The gentlemen inspected all of the tires and agreed I only need to replace the flat tire. He asked me if I purchased a certificate for the tires, but I didn't remember. He checked on the system and voila I did so they can replaced the flat tire free! I only had to pay $25 for just the refund replacement. The installation took only about 40-45 mins. America's tire helped me again and I can always depend on them. read more

I got a brand new set of tires via America's Tire after getting it from Costco the last time around. However, as much as I love Costco, their tire center is a hit and a miss and it takes forever to get an appointment even for the smallest of things. Buying the tires on the America's Tire website was a breeze. The tires shipped within a day and someone even called me to let me know that the tires were delivered to the store and I could come in sooner for my appointment (which I did). I went at the tail end of work hours and there was already a spot reserved for me with my name on it. Checking in was a breeze and the waiting area was clean (but lot of people due to the time I chose for my appointment, so the WiFi was slow). They told me that it will take an hour and it took exactly an hour. Service was great and the technicians that worked on it did a great job. I did purchase their tire certificates, so I will update my review in the future if I ever end up using them. read more

Came here to replace tires and they damaged one of by rims in the attached photo. I am 100% certain the damage was done here as I had zero wheel damage going into this appointment and I even have time stamped photos of before it went into the shop and this photo taken after work was completed. Their 3rd party insurance is useless and they refuse to make things right even with photo evidence. I've always had great experiences at the Santa Clara and Mountain View America's Tire locations, but not here. My EV's tires were 8/32" front, 5/32" rear, yet I was told they were "too worn" to rotate. The manager approved the rotation but pushed replacements, a warranty that doesn't apply to OEM Hankooks, and one sales person even recommended Michelin Defenders, which aren't EV‑rated. Others in the waiting room nodded when I walked away, and I overheard the same pitch being used on multiple customers. Arrived today with an appointment to have a tire rotation performed on my pickup. After the tech examined my vehicle, he summoned the manager who also inspected my vehicle. I was told that because my tires were 6 years old, and there was minor tread wear on my front tires, they refused to perform my tire rotation as I had requested. All Dually pickups have outer front tire wear, which is why they have to be rotated to the rear for even wear. I assume they wanted to sell me new tires instead since all of their signs had 6yrs specified as a replacement time for tires. Thanks for wasting my time Americas Tire! TESLA owners. Ill avoid this place in you need wheel balance. Took my model 3 for a wheel balance for vibration while going a high speed. They did my wheel balance & stated everything seems fine and all wheels are balance. They rotated my tires and wheel balance for free. Sounds good right? Well as soon the repair was done took the car for a test drive on the freeaway to see if the issue was fixed. NOP vibration was still there. Finally took my vehicle at TESLA SERVICE to really figure out whats going on, come to find they put X amount of weights all over the wheel which made it unbalance. Overall. Yes the service was free at americas tires but things was not done correctly. I would advise take your to TESLA SERVICE or other shops rather than this one. read more

Great service and wonderful work! I came to get all 4 of my tires replaced as I still had the original tires on my car. I ordered and paid for the tires online before making an appointment, so I definitely recommend doing that to save yourself some time and trouble. Since I had gone in right before a major holiday, the rep that helped me out was transparent on how it would actually take longer than expected due to the amount of walk ins. He also helped out with answering my question about one of the lights showing up on my dashboard. I ended up walking over to the shopping center and killing sometime there. It took a little over an hour to get the text that the tires were done, so I was a bit surprised since I expected it to take even longer. I was told to come in right away. I've been hesitant to change my tires because previous experience has always been such a long hassle. Avoid this store! They break your car on intention to make money! I bought my Audi brand new and the wheels were never worked on before this. In October 2025, I had a puncture on my tire and brought my car to this store for tire repair. At first they plugged my tire improperly and put too much pressure on it caused a leak, suggested me to purchase a new set of tires, they broke my rim replacing my tires. I went back to this store the next day making complaint , the store manager was extremely rude and never allow me to finish my talk, he kept telling me they replaced tire on McLaren a few days ago and my Audi is not special. I end up taking my car to Audi Service, they checked my wheels and 3 of them are damaged. I had to replaced 3 rims. I spent several days going back and forth and never got a solution for this. I've been doing business with American Tire for 30 years and I've been going to this location for 15 years since it's close to my work but this last visit might be my last one I had an appointment for 4 RunFlat tires for my BMW. I dropped the car and went to lunch. Got a VM that said my right rear wheel is bent and they recommend that I replace it ASAP. I called back to understand what happened. The person who picked up the call is very arrogant. He told me the wheel is damaged and they can order original factory wheel for me or I can buy their stocked wheel and it will be cheaper. I asked if they can tell me if there's a picture or he can describe the extend of the damaged. He said the car has been dismounted and will be extra work with them if they need to take a picture. He said wheel is not expensive if we buy from them and 4 set of their in-store wheel is cheaper than buying from bmw. I thanked him for the suggestion and I said I'm going to try to fix the wheel at a place I know. He then switched gear and asked where am I taking the wheel to, is it the place in Santa Clara (why would they care where am I taking the wheel to??). He used a judging tone and asked me "so you still want to drive your car ?" He said this is dangerous and can't be fixed and has to be replaced. He's also insinuating that the new tire can't be installed because the wheel is damaged. I asked him if he can mount the new tire and I'll decide when I'm back at the shop on next step. Back from the lunch, I went to talk to a different person in the counter and he asked me if I heard about the bent wheel and I said yes, I got the VM and called back earlier. He was nicer than the guy on the phone. He was also trying to convinced me to buy new set of wheels and I declined and said I would like to see if can be fixed. His coworker (I think that's the guy on the phone) said to me that wheel is not expensive and he was trying to show me the pricing on the screen. I declined and said I'm not planning to spend more money after the $1800 I spent on set of tires. After being able to get out of the upselling scene with American tires, I drove over to a shop in SJ to see if the wheel can be fixed. The dismount the tire and I get to see the wheel. Yes, it's bent and definitely need repair. The people in the wheel shop told me this not to bad, they should have it done within an hour. I waited and get to see what it looks like after the repair. Overall, I spent $150 fixing the wheel. I'm disappointed in the Brokaw Americas Tire team. I feel some high pressure upsell during this visit. I feel the person I talked to on the phone misrepresented the condition of the wheel (that it can't be fixed) AND giving me the impression that the tire can't even Be installed back and the only way out is to buy new set of wheels. I've had punctures on my tires due to nails on the road in the past and paid $40-75 to get them patched. Another time, my wife had the sidewall punctured and we had to buy a new tire (coincidentally, it was right in front of America's Tires because someone dropped stuff off their truck). I ended up buying the tire through America's tires since they were able to get it within a day. I dropped it off my wheel and they swapped out the tire later on in the day. But the main reason for the 5/5 is because nearly a year later, my wife ran over a nail. Another coincidence is that it happened to be exactly the one America's Tire replaced last time. I was about ready to just pay some place to do it, but then I remembered that America's Tire actually does patches for free! Even if you didn't buy the tires from them. It was around 3-4PM on a Sunday, so it wasn't as busy for them. I assume they normally have some waitlist since they would prioritize paying customers, but I only had to wait about an hour. Brad was super helpful and friendly and while they were absolutely PACKED with customers we were able to book an appointment and get it sorted in less than an hour. Instead, I waited four hours for something that should've been simple. Most of the staff were rude, dismissive, and acted like they were doing me a favor just by answering a question. The only person who showed any professionalism or competence was Ronnie. He's the only one who actually helped me and explained what was going on. as a first time customer, i wasn't super impressed with my experience overall. everything was just disorganized, which might be a post-holiday symptom but i was kinda baffled. more to it below. however, the associates were great and the people i spoke to directly were kind, especially Khobie who tried his best. honestly what i learned from all of this is you need to call ahead to make sure the tires you ordered are actually there prior to your appointment. i ordered tires directly through the america's tire website during the labor day sale and schedule my appointment for a couple days after the holiday. i get an email the day before & it says that my tires were delivered to the store, cool. day of the appt, i'm doing the online check-in process. while i'm on the way, i get a call & they're asking for my eta so they can notify the team, nice! pretty good first impression so far. i get there and eventually get checked in by Khobie. safety inspection complete with a little extra education about treadwear and other services before passing along the keys & waiting. after a little bit, i get told that my tires weren't there yet or they haven't been logged into the system yet, but that they'd check again. i didn't make it a big deal but i was confused because i got an email saying they were delivered the day before.. & i thought that it's normal to check these things before an appointment happens. i get it, it's a high-volume store, but i was kind of shocked. turns out, they can't find em. okay, i chalk it up to post-holiday delays. he tries to offer other tires they have in-store instead but i decline because i did take some time to research and tires are no small investment. he tries to look around locally but there were only 2 available. he said they may arrive tomorrow, which i was fine with. but he offered to place an order for the tires to be delivered from the warehouse with an estimated 1-2 hours eta, rescheduled my appt for later. nice, even better. i felt a little better about the experience thus far. the appointment time is coming up and i just decide to call the store to double check if the tires did come.. because it's extremely hot outside and i'd rather not waste the gas (and the stress of parking there; the layout is honestly awful. got some parked on the curb, some on the spaces) if something happened. they initially can't find my order, which was another weird thing. i dunno how their system works as Khobie had to create another invoice at the time, but that just seems inconvenient. after some waiting, they tell me the delivery driver canceled the order. like, huh? no reason offered, it was just canceled. this is why i'm doing 3 stars instead of 4, because this was insane. had i not called, i would've been told this in-person when i showed up for the appointment. i'm usually pretty understanding but this was NOT cool. they offer to just call me tomorrow when the tires come in, which was today. i get the promised call. i call the store later to see if i can drop by shortly, they agree but wait time is long. it's fine. everything from there went fine and i had a pleasant experience with the associates in-store today. waited for about 2 hours. fine and dandy, i'm happy with my tires. read more
