Incredible shop with over and above service. We were visiting from out of town and had our…read morealternator light come on, which is a huge problem, and horrible timing. Called around everywhere and no one could help me, but finally called Mike's and within minutes confirmed they could get me in same day. The price was competitive, they fixed everything in one afternoon, and our van was in perfect condition again in time to take our family back home. We even got a warranty on the service, which I feel great about. Some of the nicest guys too. Thank you all for saving our day! Would highly recommend!

I'd been having recurring cylinder misfires for months. I'm no stranger to mechanical work and did…read moreeverything I could think of to resolve but needed another eye on it. We're 40+ mins away from the nearest BMW garage so I found Mike's Auto which is within 10 minutes. They specialize in import repair according to their site so I brought it in for a diagnostic. I just needed to know what they thought caused it and could probably do the repair myself. I'd already done turbos, O2 sensors, ECU, throttle body, Vanos, etc. The guys were very accommodating but communication was poor, I had to call for any updates or to find out they needed me to authorize a repair. Three weeks and $1800 later I pick up the car and don't even make it a mile before all the misfires come right back. This, despite their assurances that it was test driven multiple times. Right back I go. A week later I'm now told a catalytic converter was plugged and causing faulty readings for air/fuel mix, creating misfires. It made sense, the tech even sent me a video showing his gauge reading. He was confident. Cats were about the only thing I hadn't changed. They estimated 8-9 hours book rate so I took it home and installed some brand new cats myself (3 hours real time.) Car made it several miles this time before the same error messages appeared. So, the diagnosis was still incorrect. I won't be bringing it back. The guys tried hard but it's clear they don't possess any specific import knowledge or experience that will help me out. I've wasted $1800 to get back where I was a month ago, but with a pair of shiny new cats now. They're probably fine doing standard work like suspension or oil leaks but anything more complex seems beyond them.

I've had my car there 3 times for service since they first opened their doors a few months ago. In…read moreeach case, I was totally satisfied with the quality of the work done. The first time, I had a coolant leak and the mechanic actually SHOWED me where it was leaking. Actually seeing the problem with my own eyes when the car was on the lift immediately made me feel that they can be trusted. They fixed that problem, did some other overdue maintenance work, and the car's been running much better now, zero problems. The only minor problem I had was that I asked for the parts to be returned to me, and they weren't. That really wasn't a big deal since my driveway isn't full of coolant spots any more. I thought the price for this repair was entirely fair. The second time was a problem that couldn't be duplicated when I was driving it while the tech was in the car with me. Ah well... They didn't charge me for that visit. The most recent visit was exceptional. I managed to get the end of a gas funnel stuck in the neck of my gas tank. This caused all kinds of problems when I'd fill up with gas at Kwik Trip. I tried to fish it out myself, but couldn't. I brought it to the dealership, and they told me they couldn't see it or get it out after allegedly scoping it out. The dealership charged me for that visit. I know they have bills to pay, so I was OK with that. On a whim, I brought it to the new Meineke (formerly Pope Autoworx). I told them what happened and that I wanted them to try to get it out, but I'd pay for an hour of time, no matter what. I told them that I wanted to save the part so I could see it. Well... THEY GOT IT OUT!!!!! The dedication, time and effort that they showed me in actually FIXING this problem impressed the hell out of me. I do my own oil changes and brake jobs, but for nearly everything else, this Meineke garage will be my first call.

Mundelein Tire & Service

I'm relatively new to the Mundelein area, and I can not tell you how much relief it is to find your…read more'place.' My wife's 2018 VW Passat was burning about 5qts of oil every thousand miles, and only warm air blew on the driver's side of her vehicle. The entire time we have owned this car, it has only been serviced at VW dealerships. When she got her last oil change at VW, I asked about the high oil consumption, and the answer I received was that the car just does that now. It's old, so it will burn more oil. If VW is telling me this, I could not help but accept this as fact. With the weather turning cold, I brought her car to somewhere closer to home to address the heating issue. I selected Mundelein Tire and Service via Yelp based on the reviews and proximity. I explained the problems and dropped the car off at 8 a.m. I dealt with Steve, who was very personable, professional, and an excellent communicator. When I picked up my vehicle at 4 p.m. the same day, I spoke with Steve and talked to the mechanic who worked on my car. I was treated with a show and tell of the parts removed from my car and immediately felt I brought my vehicle to the right place. The excessive oil consumption issue was addressed by replacing a faulty PCV valve/oil separator. My spark plugs were also coated in oil due to the faulty PCV valve. The passenger side temperature control actuator that directs the airflow on the passenger side was completely seized. When I received my car, I was shocked by the immediate difference in how it drove. We had been driving with diminished power for so long that we had just gotten used to the lack of acceleration. The day before I brought the vehicle in, I had added 5 quarts of oil. Instead of charging me for an oil change, Steve suggested I just change the oil filter. Overall, my car is driving like new again, and the cabin is nice and toasty inside. I received a greatly appreciated discount on the labor due to my military service. I have found where I will bring my vehicle for all my repairs and maintenance needs. Thank you again to Steve and the team; you've earned my appreciation and business for the foreseeable future.

I needed to get an oil change and the prices are decent here while the service is pretty good so I knew I wouldn't go anywhere else. While changing my oil, Dan and the tech, Nikolai, were able to find some other issues including my brakes, egr valve gasket and camshaft plug. They were honest with me regarding what they found and gave me a decent price without tryin to run me up which I appreciated. Overall, they did a great job with my car and they didn't try to push unnecessary work to be done on my car. I will continue to use them and I would highly recommend everyone else to as well. Shoutout to Nikolai and Dan--thanks for taking care of my car.

Definitely recommend Luke he's very big help when it comes to finding a truck in your price point and don't be afraid to say no! Overall I'd reccomend this place 5 stars very honest and understanding place and I didn't feel forced into anything so it was very easy to comply and talk with my salesman (Luke)! I bought a 2016 Chevy Silverado with 100k miles for only 20k and it is in immaculate condition 0 rust and very very clean with tons of features!

You would think after speaking with a salesperson and working out all the details including a price ahead of time that it would be a pretty simple process. Unfortunately far from. The GM - Abe (Abdullah ??) tried sticking me with an additional $1,400 charge for a paint protection?? After I declined this, he told they already added this to the car but forgot to add it to the listing. He said there was nothing he could do and I had to pay that charge. I said fine, write it up and I will pay it but will write a google review. He then said he would not sell me a car based on this agreement. After much argument, and me having to pay extra for paint protection (that was probably never added as he never gave me any paperwork on this so called protection), I paid my money and left. I have. Since had 2 different Finance Mangers that mentioned my paperwork was done wrong as I was from out of state and they needed to refund me the taxes I paid and send me corrected paperwork so I can plate my car. Numerous calls and now I just get vmail. No one will call me back! Funny how when they owe money how nobody will call you back? My next phone call is the Attorney General. Stay away from the Kunes Dealer Group!!!
