My daughter's 2008 Audi A3 would not start due to an ignition switch issue in the steering column because the key would not turn. Once we got the car to start, it would not turn off. I started looking on Google for nearby repair shops that work on foreign cars. I called and explained the situation to Keith. He was familiar with the problem and said it was a common issue in the older cars. Keith knew we were in a predicament and offered to help us right away even though we didn't have an appointment. Keith was able to turn off the car and diagnose the issue. He provided us with a couple repair options (new or used parts) with his recommendation and estimate. We went with new parts and the car was ready the next day. Keith even offered to come pick my daughter up with the car and bring her back to the shop. After leaving she noticed the air bag light was on and went back to shop. Without hesitation, Keith took the car back and resolved the issue next day. I was really impressed when Keith called a few days later to check on the car and said to let him know if there are any more issues related to the repair and that he would stand by his work. Needless to say, I am very impressed by Keith and his customer service / communications and will call on him again for future repairs. Thank you very much !!! He dismissed one of my questions by simply saying "I can just tell because I've been doing this a long time". He looked to be in his early twenties so I'm not sure he has the experience to pull that card yet. Ok fine. I need new tires. I accepted that. However, when I started to inquire about buying tires there he was totally annoyed with me. He did not care about selling me tires at all. I asked if there was a sales person I could talk to and he said "I do sales as well but I don't make commission" and went on to say "It doesn't matter to me if you buy tires here or somewhere else". Not really sure what the point of Discount Tires is if they don't care about selling tires... Especially when they already had me in the door and ready to buy. I'm gonna take my business to one of the other dozen tire shops in the area who actually care about their customers.

They may be a little more expensive than some but I think you pay for what you get. In my industry we have a sign in out office that reads fast, cheap or good... pick two because you can't get all three. I have tried another shop in McHenry a few years ago that a friend recommended. The car was there for 3 days and I called because I hadn't heard anything. They stated that they were going to look at it the next day ( 4 working days later). I picked it up and brought it to North Town and was driving it two days later. I really have never had a bad experience here and do trust them.

When I picked up the car they admitted that the fluids "just needed changing". Took the car straight to Mitch at Morrie & Sons, who found everything in order, no fluids were low or needed changing at all. It's really nice to know there are still honest mechanics out there, and it's a bonus that he's right in my neighborhood.
