Douglas Automotive replaced my transmission fluid and my vehicle is running great! They were also willing to pick me up and drop me off. Now that's service! Took my truck in for a needed brake job. My HULK isn't the easiest being a 1993 Ford Bronco, but they were not only able to get the job done without any other damage (he's old & rusty but still runs like a champ) but they did what they could to keep cost at a price that I could afford. They were willing to come and pick me up being fairly close. They seemed to look at everything and even figured out where my tire lock was with me forgetting to tel them. Brakws are still going great and haven't had (knock on wood) any other issues. These guys were great. With being new to the area, and being quite picky on who I let work on my HULK, they did a great job and I'd recommend others to go to Douglas Automotive too. read more

This service shop used to be exceptional. Since new ownership took over, things seemed to have changed for the worse. Whenever you go they now recommend unnecessary repairs and services. On one of these unnecessary services on my car they ruined a perfectly running car and when I complained that it was not running right after their 'service', first they refused to acknowledge it and then suggested I take it to the dealer as they can't figure it out. So I would strongly suggest to avoid this shop now as something detrimental has changed this once impeccable repair shop. read more

This repair shop is very attentive and professional in every measure. Had a problem tire which had a defective valve stem sensor. They advised me on a more serious safety issue with the existing tire which could not be repaired. They switched out the tire and repaired the valve stem. This was all accomplished while I waited. The service was excellent and the price was far less than anticipated. Kudos to Shawn the his team. For prompt and friendly service. read more

For about 45 years I have almost always done all my own mechanical work on our cars and trucks, except for vehicles still under warranty. We now have a number of cars that are all older (newest being 2005), so they're sometimes in need of service as things go wrong. The problem is that I've never really used a professional mechanic, and I'm at the point now were I don't have time to do my own auto work. Worse, I've never been able to build a relationship with a mechanic myself, though friends turn to me to know who to take cars to around our area for service. On a recommendation of a friend I started using Douglas Automotive, after having a few others prove inconsistent in doing a good job, resulting in a "comeback" - having to bring the car back to have something corrected after the repair. Haven't had such things with these folks. I now have a mechanic I can rely on, as Douglas has proven to me that they're the folks I've hoped to find. Their rates are lower than that of dealers, and they're extremely knowledgeable. Their shop is clean and orderly, which IMO is a good sign. The repairs are done on-time and usually for less than I'd thought they'd cost. They've set up towing with a 3rd-party outfit so they're able to retrieve a stalled car too. I like to know what the problem is, and will sometimes use my experience and equipment to get an idea of what the problem might be, and they're aware of that and inform me of everything going on - even calling to notify me if any parts are delayed. In short, I'm very pleased with the service at Douglas Automotive and have found them to be excellent in meeting our family's automotive repair needs. read more

This place ROCKS! My son is driving a Hyundai Tucson and we brought the Tucson in to Douglas Automotive before a recent long trip out west where he was going to interview for hospital positions. We had the oil changed,new brake pads placed,steering fluid replaced and the new tires installed. The whole nine yards done. We asked Frank at Douglas Automotive to give the Tucson a through once over because the trip would be for over 3 weeks and we did not want him to be stuck someplace out west with a prairie dog as company waiting for a tow truck to arrive.Yikes! So while my son was driving over the Continental Divide, the idiot red light on the dash comes on. So he pulls into the nearest town, Missoula and a friend of his there recommends a big box chain near by. They put the Tucson on their diagnostic machine and told my son that his car was dangerously flawed. It needed over $4,500 of parts and labor to get the car into good shape. We were flabbergasted but with no place else to turn we called Douglas Automotive. By chance Frank pick up the phone. We explained the situation concerning the Tuscon and Frank got HOT. He asked for the name and number of the nation-wide big box chain and told us he would deal with it. He called us back in 20 minutes and asked if the Tucson's gas tank was filled up before going into the mountains. It had been and the gas cap had been overly tightened which caused the red light to come on. He recommended that we buy a $20 new gas cap which would work better in the mountains. Also the Missoula mechanics hooked up the leads wrong and their diagnosis was way off base. When they hooked the Tucson up correctly, guess what everything checked out as normal except for the gas cap. They saw a young kid passing through who they wanted to take to the cleaners. The big box chain never charged my son and he picked up a new gas cap before heading out. We thanked Frank and offered to pay for his time and troubles, but he refused. He never asked for me to do a review but I just had to promote their care and outstanding service to the Cary/Grove Area. This place goes the extra mile to take care of one of their own. They treat you like family here. Ask for Frank that guy is awesome! They did like the donuts which were dropped off to show our appreciation and thanks. A great small business taking care of one customer at a time. read more
