DANGEROUS BRAKE WORK - AVOID HUNTERS. Dropped off my project Jeep in APRIL for new brake lines. Picked it up in June. Shop said some air in the lines is expected and will work out, and they can rebleed. Car was dangerous, foot went to floor. Brought back. Picked up today and inspected the brake lines. Looks like a circus rollercoaster - the line is running OVER the valve cover, the line in back goes in a LOOP, and none of it is secured. THIS IS DANGEROUS. STAY AWAY - DO NOT GET BRAKES DONE HERE!!! THEY WILL HAPPILY RETURN YOU A DEATH TRAP. THEY WILL CHARGE YOU THOUSANDS FOR THIS. DO NOT GET YOUR BRAKES DONE HERE. Highly recommend! My car broke down while I was out of town for the weekend in Delavan Wisconsin. After contacting the tow company, Purcells towing, I was recommended to Hunter auto service to see if they could fix the clutch on my Subaru Forrester. After talking with the gentleman at Hunter he told me that while he could try to fix it, it require's special tools that they did not have and that he couldn't guarantee that he would be able to fix it correctly. I very much appreciate his honesty! He could've easily taken advantage and left me stranded without my car for a week or more and still not have fix the problem, but you could tell that's just not who they are! I very much appreciate their honesty and giving me a better understanding about my situation. It made me feel comfortable that I was making the right decision having my car serviced at the Subaru dealership in Janesville. Although I ended up not using their service, experiencing the honesty and education they gave me I have no doubt they're a great shop to work with! read more

Had my car towed to hunters after my control arm and axle broke the next morning they called me with an honest answer and price! I was able to pick my car up the next day :) It kills me when my car breaks because mechanics can be shady but hunters definetly earned my trust and my business! Thanks guys!!! read more

No frills, no hassle, in and out, wham-bam, thank you ma'am. Hunter's Auto is a very trustworthy name in Delavan, not out to mess with your car or your pocketbook. I had an oil change completed in 20 minutes, not told whether I needed a new air filter or windshield wipers or brake fluid... I don't think they even checked. Oil and filter change is what you want? Oil and filter change is what you get. Very reasonable price for a compact car: 23.70, so that with tax you get a spot on total of $25.00. Now, I like that. My only reservations for providing 5 stars is that this was my first time using them. I would definitely recommend them to anyone, I just want to ensure consistency before bumping them up. ...and because it was a 90 to 100 degree day and there was no air conditioning. I really wish I could give this a 5 star. But the guy that was working on my car was a 2 star. First of all he made me feel iike AN IDIOT.I had emailed about my time change. i brought my car in for a new serpentine belt.I arrived at the desk, they acted like i was completely unwanted/unknown. He took a look at my car and said "THIS IS AN HOUR AND A HALF JOB YOU KNOW?" He claimed he would half to take off the entire front end of my car... from what I saw that never happened.everyone else was really nice. I wish i delt with the klong haired guy. He seemed nice. Where to begin...I decided to use Hunters Auto Service because a person from work recommended them. I had made an appointment to have some work done there and was told to bring the vehicle there at 8am. I did this and was told that it would be done later in the afternoon. At 430 in the afternoon I received a call from the shop and was informed that they had gotten the vehicle up on the lift and found more work needed to be done than what was initially thought. I questioned why it took this long to determine this and I was told they were swamped and had a guy on vacation....okay fine. upset but whatever. I schedual another appointment exactly a week later and was told they would be able to complete the work in one day. Same story. Dropped vehicle off at 8. At 230 in the afternoon a family member calls and tells me my car hasn't moved from where I parked it. I call up Hunters Auto Service to inquire about my cars status. Guy tells me same story as before...they were swamped and HADN'T EVEN GOTTEN IT ONTO THE LIFT YET! I wonder when they were going to pass this nugget of information on to me. I work full time and have very limited days off just like everyone else. At a very minimum they could have told me sooner that they would not be able to get to it. even if they called the day before that would have been fine. If they cannot complete the work on time two times in two weeks what good are they? Overall, aside from something simple like an oil change or fixing a flat tire, I would take my vehicle to one of the many other shops in the area such as Korys Auto or Bonds. Great people to work with when repair work needed. Able to drop off vehicle and one of the Tech's gave me a ride back to my work, called in a few hours and brought my vehicle back to my work. The price of parts was all very reasonable. Would highly recommend fir any kind of vehicle problems. read more

When I lived in Delavan, Hunter's was recommended by a friend, and they were always great and easy to work with. I moved away from Delavan to a nearby town, but thought it easier to use a local auto service there. I recently had to make an unexpected trip out of town - and had put off having some shocks switched out for too long - and called my local service, and another local service, to see if they could get me that day, to be finished by the next day at noon. One wasn't able to, one didn't even return my call. I called Hunter's - they got me in, and done, within 4 hours on the day I brought the vehicle in. Amazing. I thought I had the "noise problem" solved - but still heard it. I called them back this week - brought the car back in this morning - and within 3 hours they had located the issue, and fixed it. Again - amazing. And always amazed at how reasonable the price is. So many establishments have lost sight of customer service, and how important it is. Not Hunter's.
