My son called me and I told him to tell them not to do anything. When my son came home I inspected the wheel and found that the outer covering on the lug nut had come off. However, there was enough of the nut there that I put a lug wrench on the nut and removed it. Then installed a new lug nut!!!!!! I don't know if this auto center has TOATALLY inexperienced and inept mechanics, or they are dishonest and trying to pad the bill with repairs that are not necessary. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!! I later called again and explained that I took it elsewhere where they told me that the valve stem had been damaged. He asked "why did you take it somewhere else?" then "have a good day sir" and hung up on me. This issue required me to walk one mile to my home late at night in February, another mile up hill the following day, cost for tow, and the cost for an extra repair. Bruce's Pit Stop told me that topping fluids is not included in an oil change, which is unheard of. Terrible shop.

Jim was the best. But now horrible service. Lets see I took it in for an inspection and a check engine light on, and I left with what I thought might be good service repair....nope! I was charged for a battery I didn't ask for ( $300), and they weren't even respectful enough to put the terminal cover back on it the shroud that covers my motor was just thrown in the back of my vehicle along with the skid cover that goes on the under carriage. then I looked under the hood and also noticed my nice air filter cover was nowhere to be found. And the check engine light was never even fixed, so now I have to pay someone else to fix that. And last of the bigger idiotic crap was they took a half a full tank of gas. So all of this BS cost me 2000 dollars to boot. I would NOT recommend this place to a room full of criminals!! They suck. Worst service ever in my entire life. They should be ashamed of themselves. I brought my vehicle (Mazda CX-5) to Varna Auto because the brake warning light was on and I was…read moreunable to disengage the Electronic Parking Brake (EPB). After diagnosing the car, they told me both rear EPB actuators and calipers needed to be replaced. I approved the repair and paid $1,124. They later called and said the car was fully fixed and ready for pickup. However, when I arrived, the brake warning light was still on and the EPB was still not functioning properly. I immediately informed them. The next day, they re-examined the vehicle and told me the parking brake control module had lost communication and that they could not fix the issue. They referred me to a Mazda dealership for further repairs. In other words, after charging me over $1,100, the original problem remained unresolved. When the vehicle was returned to me, the brake fluid reservoir cap was missing. The reservoir had been temporarily covered with plastic, and I had to return the following day to obtain a replacement cap. This raised serious concerns about the level of care taken during the repair. I spoke directly with the owner, William Chen, who has been very unprofessional and dishonest throughout the process, about my concerns. During our phone conversation, I explained that I was disappointed and did not want to keep parts that did not resolve the issue. He initially stated that he could return the aftermarket parts (though not the OEM actuators). However, after speaking with someone else at the shop, he changed his position and said he would not return the parts or issue a refund. Overall, I paid for a repair that did not fix the problem and was then told to take the car elsewhere. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this shop.

My grad school kid has used Hunt's twice now. Once when he brought his out of state car to school…read moreand again when he needed a new transmission (big thanks for Ithaca Auto for recommending Hunts for this work). They did great on the car inspection (NY bans dark window tinting unless it came factory installed). Commented on how the vehicle had no rust (Ithaca ices their roads) and suggested we get undercoating done (Daggett's Garage in Dresden was the closest place that will undercoat your car with FluidFilm each October). We did the oil change and minor service. A few months later the transmission gave out (we knew it would happen sooner or later). AAA towed the car to the garage. Hunt's ordered a rebuilt transmission with a 3 year warranty. It was close to $7k but they did a great job. They did the major service and let us know the timing belt was starting to rattle and should be the next major repair and to do it before it breaks. Cars aren't cheap, but I'm grateful Hunts Auto is there to keep the car in good shape. Everyone needs a good mechanic (also Wilcox Tire is a couple buildings down and is the place to go for snow tires).

These guys have been in business for decades. they seem to know how to run a business and put tires together. I'm not sure if they do any other work besides tires. Waiting room is a bit dark and boring. Could use some love in there.
