They answered my text, came in less than an hour, did repair and were done. Charge was fair.

Super Flush Plumbing - Ground movement caused this drain pipe break in Irving

Super Flush Plumbing

(2 reviews)

We were in the process of selling our house in June 2025. The buyers ordered a plumbing inspection…read morethrough their own contractor, and a sewer line leak was found underneath our hallway bathroom. We also needed some repairs to our water heater, as well as replacing the water shutoff valves in the laundry room. We got three bids from different plumbers, and Super Flush Plumbing came in at the best price. The house was vacant, so any work performed had to be done without any supervision. The plumber, Hershel and his excavation crew, came out and dug an 8 foot tunnel underneath our house to reach the reported leak. After the pipe was repaired, he conducted further testing to see if the leak was fixed. All of a sudden it became "multiple leaks" that were found in the same bathroom, as well as a potential leak under our laundry room on the opposite side of the house. It started as a $5,300 sewer line repair--then they added on a $705 charge for (according to their invoice) "having to chip through a beam in order to make repair." Then it became an extra $150 charge to "replace angle stop at hall bath toilet." Then it became an extra $2,983 to fix one of the other "leaks" that were found in the bathroom. THEN, it became an extra $1,338 to replace the p-trap under our bathtub which was also "leaking." But wait, there's more! An additional charge of $783.91 to "replace waste and overflow with a/c condensate on hall bath tub." What started as a $5,300 sewer line repair turned into $11,260 in leak repairs. Combined with the water heater repairs and shutoff valve replacements in the laundry room, we had now spent a total of over $13,000. The buyers, who are already under contract, need every leak fixed before closing on the house. The plumber then conducts further testing on the rest of the house. Sure enough, he confirms there is indeed a leak underneath our laundry room. In order to reach the leak, we can pay a couple thousand dollars to dig another tunnel under the house--OR, we can with the much "cheaper" option and let him jackhammer a hole in our dining room floor for another $3,200. He then tells me he's "pretty sure" we have a potable water leak at our water meter, as the box is constantly filling up with water. This was officially the nail-in-the-coffin and were ready to move on and find another plumber. Meanwhile, work has yet to be completed on the previous bathroom repairs--Hershel needed to backfill the concrete that was dug out of our bathroom floor during the repair process. The 8-foot tunnel that was dug under the house also needed to be backfilled. At the beginning of this whole saga, we had paid Super Flush about 50% up front before work could begin. Hershel informs me that they are requiring the full payment to be submitted before they can backfill the tunnel and concrete. I informed him that I've never had a contractor or vendor EVER require full payment before work was completed. He then tells me he needs to "ensure that we get paid. We have to pay these guys to put all the dirt back." Uh, we've already paid you several thousand in work...you're telling me you don't have the reserve funds to pay the dirt crew? He then says "We are a reputable company and that is not how we work." He agrees to finish the work and we pay him what's due. We decided to hire a master plumber, with 30+years experience, to come out and perform another leak test. His report showed that there was NO LEAK found under the laundry room and NO LEAK at our water meter--it was just groundwater filling up the box. A few days later, we hired a sprinkler system company to replace the double-check valve (which we knew we've been needing for a while), and they also confirmed there is no leak at our water meter. Ultimately, my wife and I should have trusted our gut a lot sooner and recognized we were getting screwed. We're not handy with repair work, so we just trusted what Super Flush told us was needed. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it ended up costing my family several thousand dollars that were "flushed" away.

Mother Modern Plumbing - Emergency plumbing and emergency plumbers ready to help you out

Mother Modern Plumbing

Update: The owner of Mother Modern called to personally apologize for the scheduling difficulties…read morewe had. He is instituting trainings so that hopefully this problem will be cleared up. And although we obviously chose a different plumber, he wanted to offer a complimentary service so we could have a good experience with his company if we were willing to give them a chance. What more can you ask of a company than that they respond professionally to criticism? As I said, if they succeed in improving their communication, Mother Modern was one of very few companies working on the weekend. So if you have a real emergency, hopefully Mother Modern can be at your door soon to address your issue. Original Review: I am only evaluating how hard it is to schedule a time slot with Mother Modern if you do not have a wide open schedule. They were difficult to communicate with, bumped our appointment, and showed up at a random time when we were not available. We have jobs, so we ended up hiring a more professional company that could give us a time slot. If you have an emergency and are *very* flexible, will be home all day, and won't mind if your time slot is bumped, then maybe try Mother Modern. A point in their favor is that they were working on the weekend. We had an exterior leak sizable enough that we had to shut off water to the house. Of course we found it at ten 'til 5 on a Saturday. We fully expected not to get an appt until Monday and were prepared to live without water for a few days. But on Sunday morning we were able to get an appt scheduled for 2 pm with Mother Modern. We then got ready for church, but just before leaving we got a call saying they were in the area and could come now. We said we preferred our 2pm appt; it worked with our schedule for the day. He said that another job had been scheduled for 2 and our appt had been canceled. What?! We had stopped contacting potential plumbers because we had made a firm appt with these guys. He said they could come Monday instead but couldn't give a time window, just that they "will call 30 min prior." You can't even tell me if it will be morning or afternoon on a weekday? Clients are just supposed to be available all day on a workday? Very odd. We wanted to try to find a more reliable company, so we said (in case we couldn't make an appt with someone else) that if they had someone available Monday AFTERNOON, to give us 1 hour notice so we could meet the technician. They sent someone first thing Monday MORNING and gave half hour notice. We missed meeting this technician, of course. The company wants your business, but has real communication and scheduling issues. Maybe Mother Modern specializes in the most urgent of emergencies and expects you to be anxiously waiting on property 24/7 for them to show. So if you're desperate or very flexible, maybe this company will work for you. If you have a job, then Mother Modern might be a headache to deal with. I was starting to wonder if maybe this was considered normal for an area like DFW, but no. The vey first plumbing company we called Monday morning was easy to communicate with and kept our appointment.

We called Chenevert's and they came in to restored the cavern left and clean-up the site. Testing showed that the drain was working. Unfortunately the prior company didn't properly diagnose the issue and 30 days later the sink backed up again. We called Chenevert's and they were out within 30 minutes. They quickly looked through the entire lenghth of the drain pipe with a video camera and concluded that the drain pipe was fre of any roots and had no cracks or damage. What they counf was debrise from use but aggravated by the drainage from the air conditioner drainage from the attic above and the airborn particels sucked in were clumping causing the blockage in the line. A quick cleaning of the line with a cable line and it waas fully open. No reopening of the floor, no dirt and debrise spread through the house and very low cost to complete versus the thousands previously paid. More important, was the engaging employees who listened, diagnosed the situation discussed and explained the course of action need and ensured we understood and were in full agreement. What a great experience. We highly recommend Chenevert's and will mak the our Plumbing support for the future.
