We came in as a party of five at 8:30pm, fully aware they close at 9. We ordered quickly and respectfully, excited to enjoy one of my favorite dishes: the chicken katsu. I've raved about it to friends, especially the generous portions--normally two large, pounded-out chicken breasts per order. But tonight was a different story. We ordered a bibimbap, 10 wings, a roll, gyoza, a child's katsu, tempura and two chicken katsu meals (close to $20 each). For our katsus instead of full portions, it was obvious the kitchen split one order between both plates--then handed the scraps to the child's meal, which we were told would be "half" an adult size. It wasn't even close. Not only was the portion insulting, but the food wasn't fresh. The chicken was dry, overcooked, and hard as a rock. I couldn't even bite through one piece--I had to spit it out. When we brought it up, they offered 10% off. Honestly, that felt like a slap in the face. I had just convinced people to come here based on how good this meal used to be, and instead I ended up apologizing to my guests for bringing them here and still paid for meals we weren't fully served. If you were low on chicken, in a rush to close, or just had a lazy cook that night--own it. Don't try to pass off a single meal as two. That's not just disappointing--it's dishonest. This experience was a joke. And if that's how regulars get treated, I will regular no more.

A lot larger than I expected--could definitely accommodate larger parties. Very slow for a Sat afternoon.

Whenever I am in desire for great soup, I usually go for Chinese Hot & Sour Soups. It's the best pick-me-up soups on the market. Today, I am feeling a little bit under the weather with an illness, so I checked out China Town restaurant in Wichita, KS for the first time ever. I ordered a quart their Hot & Sour Soup to go and when I got home, I opened the lid and the amazingly fresh aroma and sight was truly a Heavenly Meal done right. The taste was truly the best I have ever had, with all fresh ingredients and superb base broth. Again, it was truly a Delicious, Healthy and Absolutely A Heavenly Meal prepared by a "Master Chef." If this chef were to ever go on the Food Channel and compete against Bobby Flay and his "Throw Downs" or other Master Chefs on that show, I would bet an obscene amount of wager on the Master Chef of China Town to win in the perfect Chinese Hot & Sour Soups competition. I will definitely be back soon to try out the Master Chef's other dishes too, and follow up with my comments and recommendations on the other food selections too. Till then, Enjoy Life, Cause You Only Live Once... Happy Trails... The End!
