    French onion soup
    Justin M.

The food was suitable. We enjoyed the wings and loved the French onion soup and the speciality hamburger but the service was sub par. Like literally our waiter was in their prep area socializing with the tour staff and we had to go find him or have someone get him 3 times.

Literally a slice of wheat bread that was stale and then just turned from hard to slimy mush.

I ordered a simple French onion soup and it was yuck!! The broth was watery, the bread was a stale piece of plane wheat bread from a store bought loaf and the cheese was a hard round circle that was chewy and crummy! One of the worst French Onion soups I have ever had. Really awful! Couldn't eat it.

We had our annual friendsmas event here after checking around for a venue. Our reservation was for 6PM and our waiter was Adam. This is a very nice venue that can hold a very large group. The food was delicious. We tried so many dishes between all of us. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was slow. Very slow. That's the one thing that was odd since there was really no one n the restaurant but us. There seemed to be plenty of staff, however they just weren't moving fast. The decorations for the holidays were fabulous. I'd go back when I'm not worried about having a rushed meal.

We went to Walker's Exchange for dinner on Valentine's Day. One issue we had was that we were given paper menus (pictured) that had food and drinks listed. When trying to order drinks from the menu, we were told that the drink portion of the menu is outdated and they brought us a separate smaller drink menu, which also had food listed, which was confusing. Both menus had food and drink listed but one only had food available and one had drinks available only. We heard several tables near us also confused about this. The menus were printed on regular paper, so I don't understand why they didn't just print accurate menus, especially since the menus were worn and stained anyway. When told the dinner specials, our waitress told us they had a T-Bone steak special available. I asked what size, and her response was "pretty big" and shrugged. She never made an effort to go ask and let us know how many ounces it was. My water glass went empty several times throughout the meal. The food was ok, but not great. We waited 30 minutes for our entrees to come out, and it was not busy. I am beginning to understand why. Cocktails were overpriced. Overall would not come here again, would rather stay home and cook a meal.

I had a weekend stay at the Galt House and decided to book an 11:15a reservation for Walker's Exchange on a Saturday. The restaurant was fairly empty so the reservation wasn't needed. We were seated right away and asked to be put near a window to be more socially distanced from the other guests. Overall this restaurant was our most disappointing spot this weekend. The menu wasn't listed as Walker's Exchange but instead as Jockey's Silks. The ambiance was confusing too - the decor felt very farmhouse while the music playing was blues. It's a large space but not comfortable or warm, almost like a nicer cafeteria. Service was terrible. After the initial order, one visit to drop off the food and another to hand us the ticket. I watched our server spend the majority of her time in the back of the restaurant speaking to her co-workers. Settled for the double stack cheeseburger but with the Walker's sauce on the side, which was a base of thousand island dressing. Fairly boring, and no more of an upgrade than a cookout. Fries were good as well as the coffee. Bottomless coffee - but since our server was rarely available, not really. Several good restaurants in downtown Louisville, including Swizzle on the 25th floor. I would not recommend spending your dollars at Walker's Exchange. ** Side note: directly outside Walker's Exchange is Belvedere area, including a waterfall feature. Take the steps up to get a beautiful backdrop of the river and bridge.

Spinach artichoke dip was delish. The fried chicken was a little tuff but it was satisfying Again service was mehhhh very nice but not a seasoned server.

The bartender was snarky, but it felt ironic and playful -- classic dive bar energy. No issues at all. I even suggested we return Monday night with coworkers. For context, multiple bartenders at the first bar we visited that evening warned us not to go to 3rd Street Dive due to past negative experiences. I brushed it off because my Sunday visit had been fun and I thought they just didn't like the dive bar vibe. Monday was a completely different story. The bartender was openly hostile from the start -- yelling and swearing at customers, aggressively confronting people for briefly being on their phones, and creating a tense, uncomfortable environment. Demanding no one stand at the bar while we were trying to pay our tab. The situation escalated when he intentionally and aggressively threw a drink on one of my coworkers. This was not an accidental spill in a packed bar. It was deliberate. At that point, it stopped being "dive bar attitude" and started feeling volatile and unsafe. There's a difference between edgy and unprofessional. Sunday felt edgy. Monday felt unpredictable and uncomfortable. Louisville has too many great spots to risk spending your evening somewhere that could escalate like that. I hope ownership takes a serious look at what's happening behind the bar. I won't be returning.

This place was also down the block from our Airbnb so we could walk there. They had a lot of boozy coffee drinks and I really like that. I decided to try their Espresso Martini. This was our last bar stop prior to going out to dinner with friends. My drink had a house made espresso, Absolut vodka, Borghetti (coffee liqueur), a rich simple syrup, and coffee beans. My drink was rich and delicious and I absolutely loved their espresso. I do not recall what drinks my friends ordered. By the time we were leaving there was plenty of people in the place and appeared there was some sort of event gathering. We will have to come back here and with all the coffee drinks they had this may well be the place to start our day next time.
