The bartender was snarky, but it felt ironic and playful -- classic dive bar energy. No issues at all. I even suggested we return Monday night with coworkers. For context, multiple bartenders at the first bar we visited that evening warned us not to go to 3rd Street Dive due to past negative experiences. I brushed it off because my Sunday visit had been fun and I thought they just didn't like the dive bar vibe. Monday was a completely different story. The bartender was openly hostile from the start -- yelling and swearing at customers, aggressively confronting people for briefly being on their phones, and creating a tense, uncomfortable environment. Demanding no one stand at the bar while we were trying to pay our tab. The situation escalated when he intentionally and aggressively threw a drink on one of my coworkers. This was not an accidental spill in a packed bar. It was deliberate. At that point, it stopped being "dive bar attitude" and started feeling volatile and unsafe. There's a difference between edgy and unprofessional. Sunday felt edgy. Monday felt unpredictable and uncomfortable. Louisville has too many great spots to risk spending your evening somewhere that could escalate like that. I hope ownership takes a serious look at what's happening behind the bar.
