I took my older Subaru to Ichiban after getting an expensive estimate someplace else. They…read moreinspected my car and discussed all the recommended repairs with me in detail. Once they began work, Ray kept me updated about progress with daily phone calls. I had most of the recommended work done and still walked out with a smaller bill than I would have had paying for one of the two repairs at the other place. I'm very happy with the work they did and will be giving them more work in the future.

EDIT: 6/3/24: Spoke…read morewith Dave. I have no doubt that they can do a good job, as seen with these other positive reviews, but in the same manner that they are professionals in this field, I am surprised they did not find anything wrong with the master cylinder, which does have a direct influence on the clutch. Dave mentioned multiple times that his men did not find an issue with the cylinder at the time of inspection, so "technically" they did their jobs. I should point out, that Dave also said that they test driven it by 10 miles. 10 miles and no issues apparently, yet 2 miles of our struggle before the car gave out. I attached 2 new photos showing the odometer. Unless the paper printed on the day I picked up the keys aren't up to date (and if so, why was I given paperwork that's not up to date?) I am hesitant to believe the car was test driven. With the complimentary oil change + 10% discount on next repair offered, my boyfriend is very open to bringing his car back and if next time the car is properly serviced I am willing to update the reviews. ***** EDIT (Morning of 6/1/24): Tried calling your "24/7" assistance listed on your website. It's just your company's phone number sending us directly to voice mail. We need the car today. My boyfriend is missing out an annual event he wanted to go to deal with this matter. He can't even drive it to a different repair shop as he can't change gears anymore. Getting it towed, which is costing us unnecessary fees too!! Unbelievable!! ***** My boyfriend drives a manual car and was in need of a new clutch. He hesitates in bringing his car anywhere but Redline in Arlington. Since it's far, I suggested that he give other auto repair shops a chance, something he hasn't done before since he knows that finding a good mechanic is hard. Same here, but we wanted to have hope that his car can be fixed properly in Fort Worth. We thought wrong. Upon arriving, the men were very nice. Because their customer service skills were great, we assumed they were going to do a good job. My boyfriend even spoke fondly about Ichiban Autos even before repairs started. The men at the front were also responsive, informing us of the costs, labor, & parts that need replacement. Take a look at the photos for the amount of things replaced. Cost? Over $2k. And because Ichiban closes on the weekends, you'd think they'll make sure their Friday clients would be ensured that their cars would be drivable. Unfortunately, not us. As my boyfriend was flying back from a work trip, we couldn't get his car till 10 PM, long after Ichiban closed. At 10 PM, we retrieved the car, excited to drive it when... HIS CLUTCH IS LOOSE! Both of us tried it and it feels wrong. NO resistance on the clutch pedal, and he couldn't put the shifter into gear! How is this acceptable! He managed to drive the car off premises but as he got closer to my apartment, literally 2 miles away, he had stopped because he couldn't change gears anymore. That's right, 2 MILES by 11 PM, my boyfriend and his car remain stuck on the side of the road, parallel parked at some street and praying that he doesn't get towed. I did not pay over $2k just to retrieve a car that's not operating properly. Did anyone even test drive it? You guys had the car from Wednesday till Friday. Called me at 9:30 AM stating it's ready, and I didn't even come till 2 PM to pick it up, giving you guys plenty of time to test drive/check for any errors/tighten any loose ends. Since Ichiban is closed, our night, our weekend, is ruined. I really wished I could've given this place 5 stars, the men were nice but the service we received is unacceptable. A simple clutch check/test drive would've signaled to you guys that something is off. Ichiban Autos, we are extremely disappointed.

I have FINALLY found two incredible, reliable, experienced, and HONEST car mechanics. They are…read moreLarry Howard and Bill Kastel at Car Care Center in Ft. Worth. I am a customer for life! My brake light was coming on occasionally and so I figured I needed to have my fluid checked. I went to NTB on I-30 by Ridgmar Mall (6550 West Freeway) on 2/4/2010 and said I needed brake fluid. I was told my fluid was very low, which they added, and I was then asked permission to check my brakes. Well, they came back and said I had a front brake problem. The estimate was $473.78 to basically get a new pad and 2 rotors. I told them no thanks and then starting calling around, using my detailed NTB estimate to compare prices. I had also done some research on brakes, so I wouldn't sound so stupid and get fleeced. I called another place and they quoted me ten bucks higher! I then called Car Care Center and talked to Bill. He spent quite a bit of time with me on the phone, asking a few questions, and educating me on brakes. I told him what NTB was quoting and he was surprised. Bill then gave me a figure to do the same job that was less than 1/2 the NTB quote. I told him I'd be there the next day, which is today. He explained they didn't take appointments -- it was first come first serve, but that he would work with me because I had to pick my husband up from rehab at a certain time. They don't really have a waiting area, as his customers usually just drop their cars off, but he said he would put the space heater on in their little office and warm the place up before I got there. I was in their warm office for a short time when Bill came in and asked me again about my brakes. He then said I needed to come out to my car so Larry, the other owner, could show me what he had found. Larry and Bill then explained to me what the brakes would look like if I needed new ones. Bill even showed me an example of a pad that needed to be replaced. Larry then pointed out a variety of things on my brakes. The bottom line is --- THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY BRAKES!!! I had just needed brake fluid, which is what I had suspected the entire time. Bill was only going to charge me $20, but I happily wrote a check for $50. I am so impressed that I had to post this right away! These guys rock!

Polite, hard working, and wise. The owner is upfront and reasonable, and does great work!read more

It starts when you walk through the door and are warmly greeted with a "how can I help you today?" I would recommend you have an appointment, because while they do everything they can to accommodate walk-ins, they are getting quite busy from their reputation. I have been in several times now, and each time I have been made to feel like the most important person there. Any mechanical work they will do is fully explained, and the guys have gone the extra step to draw a simplified diagram of what's going on. Repairs are accurately estimated, and the work is completed on-time and budget. If you want to wait for something quick (like a state inspection, or oil change, the waiting room is nicely appointed and immaculately clean and comfortable. They also have a courtesy shuttle, but I'm honestly not sure how far they will go. Their location is pretty convenient for SW Fort Worth at the corner of Oakmont and Bryant Irvin. They work on all makes and models, and I've found the pricing to be very competitive. But the key in my mind is the respect and honesty they treat their customers. You can't put a price on that in this industry. Highly recommended.

The part costs $50 and took me all of 30 mins to replace. Outrageous price gouging. On top of that, when I declined service and told them I would be having my vehicle towed back, they left the module hanging by the pigtail and did not bother to reattach it to the vehicle. Bolts still missing and all. Terrible service and I am not planning on bringing any of my vehicles back to this location.
