The store has a good selection but poor customer service. How do you let your customer walk out of the store without their purchase??? I admit that I was distracted helping my elderly mom at the other register, with her purchase. But seriously, how do you not hand somebody there a bag, or say excuse me Miss you forgot your bag, or even bring it to me as I'm approaching the door? I only realize that I didn't have the package when I got home, after running other errands. I had to drive all the way back from a different neighborhood! Only reason that I'm even giving to stars, is because the woman that I spoke to on the phone it was so nice. I spent over 6 months fighting with the pharmacy for my mom's seizure medication. On a monthly basis, I have to not give my 87 year old mom her dose of vimpat because the pharmacy delivery is always late. It was so dangerous to not have enough needed medication for her and pray she doesn't have a seizure. I Switched to cvs and have not had any issues in last 4 months. Horrible Sh*t show every month when I have to get my medications refilled! I truly HATE COMING HERE!!!! Long wait times to speak with a pharmacist on the phone, they never account for my medication even though I get it refilled here every month. I work in the medical field so I know how busy it could get. But this pharmacy is terrible. Every single time a prescription is ready and we receive a text saying it's ready. I always go in wait online for atleast 20-25 minutes if not longer to be told that the prescription is not ready. I then asked why would you send ready texts when the prescriptions aren't ready and was told it was corporate that they had no control. Which made no sense since how would they know if a prescription is ready. They do this in order to show that they are filling the prescriptions in a timely manner which is not true at all. 7 people were working in the pharmacy yesterday yet still waited online 20 minutes to be told I would have to come back in a half hour that the prescriptions aren't ready. I went to my car to grab my phone to show them the text for them to say it's ready and has been sitting here. The most incompetent pharmacy I have ever visited. Why is it still open? They can never get anything correct. One moment there is the call from them stating everything went through but we do not have your medicine. Then comes the second call they have your medicine but nothing went through (insurance). That was just one of the recent incidents with them. It is also the final one. I will never use this pharmacy again. Especially when there are many more competent pharmacy's in the area. I am actually shocked they are still on business. As for the rating of 1 star, I tried to give zero stars because that's what the place deserves. However, cannot post a review with out at least a one star rating. Yelp needs to change that option. Many places do not deserve even one star and this is one of those places. I don't know where to start. I was looking for a western union location, so I was sent to this Walgreen store. I walked in asking where I could find WI agent and a clerk with much attitude murmured in the corner as if I was asking her a stupid question. So I walk to a counter and when I ask for help, another lady directed me to the self automated WI machine. First the machine was not working had to get help rebooting, after rebooting machine was s not working. I was moved to another station but that machine was also not working properly, keyboard was malfunctioning. I wasted 10 minutes in the store, only to walk out and forget asking for help, everyone in that location is useless. read more

Placed a prescription refill order 3 days ago. I never got a ready for pick up text as usual. I tried calling 3 -4 times being kept on hold 10 minutes per call. I finally drive over to see what the hold up is -- to find a sign on the door that they are closed until further notice due to power problems. There was no email sent or anything on the phone system indicating a problem or closure. I feel bad for anyone waiting for their medication who's unable to go there and see the problem. This is the last straw for me. I've had other issues with the pharmacy department before this, but this is completely unacceptable. Only thing convenient about this place is the location. Moving my prescription today, I'm just sick of the nonsense. They call me and say my rx is ready for my son then I go and pick it up with two little kids and they make me wait 30 minutes to find out it's not ready. Whatever they're doing in there it's wrong because this is not the first time this has happened. The pharmacist always seems overwhelmed and the techs in there are clueless. I'm done! Photo is another issue- I go and wait forever for a photo person just to wait on another lien for pharmacy and then another line with merchandise. It's insanity. I agree with the other Yelpers. This place is not so great unfortunately. I came here to get pain killers before I head to work. I work around the corner from here and I had a slight migraine. Unfortunately this store made it worse. There was no help around and it seemed like ghost town. I saw a lady arguing with one of the managers and he looked uninterested. I asked the guy at the cashier who looked like a young adolescent and couldn't care less about his job. He probably one worked there because his parents made him get a job. Anyway he had such an attitude when I asked him what isle the pain killers were in. Everything was hard to find. So when I get to the register the price came up different than advertised. Ordered my pictures on the app, they were set to be picked up at 230... I showed up for pick up at 4. No one was in the photo center. I asked the cashier who was standing next to the manager, she is the only reason this place isn't getting just 1 star, she attempted to find my pictures, she had to call for the photo personnel 3 times. I waited there for ten minutes, she continued to apologize. The manager! Did get his name but he should be demoted or fired (young asian manager). He saw I had been waiting, heard me getting irritated and he said and did nothing! It was like he was walking by no one! Photo guy finally shows up... my pictures had not been printed, the printer paper was out .... so I had to wait for him to replace the paper and print... i showed up at 4 didn't leave til 435 for pictures that were supposed to be ready by 230! And the only apologetic one was the young female cashier. She deserves to work in a place that values her customer service skills and their customers. This place sucks! read more

Not sure what is up with Walgreens. This location gets one extra star then college point cause it has parking and the don't block all the merchandise with big dollies of unpacked items. Employees where rude, as you walk in you pass the registers I say hi like any normal person would the 2 just look at me "like do I know you" but say nothing. I get some items including dog treats as the ring them up the screen says they have been recalled I joking said good thing you have a shelf full. He in a snotty way goes "it's not my job to clear out the shelves" then he grabs the money out of my hand and balls up my change and hands it to me but slides the receipt across the counter to me. Walgreens used to be good but all I can ask is WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED? Their pharmacy staff changes every week and lately, no one knows who you are. The pharmacist who resembles ugly Betty is nasty when you ask a simple question. The line is ridiculously long just to drop off a prescription, and most of the time, the medication has to be ordered and never have enough supply on hand. Sale items on the circular are never available if you missed out on day 1 of the sale. I asked the clueless stock boy if they had anymore of a particular sale item and all he said was NO. Nothing like, let me check for you, or no I'm sorry, we will gladly give you a rain check. Nothing courteous about their attitude. This has happened quite a few times (where a sale would start of Sunday) and be sold out by Tuesday. If this keeps up, I will be taking my business back to Rite Aid in the Whitestone shopping center where their pharmacy is staff knows what they're doing and are always fully stocked on sale items. I hope management reads this and takes it seriously, because I am not the only person from Whitestone who feels this way about Walgreens. read more

Three stars because if you live in the area, it's convenient for necessities. The line gets ridiculous on weekends and certain weeknights. There will be one cashier even though the line is ten people long! You would imagine it may move quickly since people only have a handful of items... but no. Not only is there one cashier most of the time - the cashier is SLOW. Friendly... but just not quick enough. I'm one to just bite my tongue and wait patiently (even if I'm not feeling so patient) but others have flipped out. On more than one occasion, I have heard a lady say "HELLO!! CAN WE GET SOME MORE HELP OUT HERE?! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!!" Typical when the wait gets long. Around the holidays, I saw someone run out with a card they didn't pay for because they got THAT tired of waiting in line. Not good. While we are on the topic of stealing... They seem to think people will steal razors. All the razors are locked up which is incredibly annoying because if you go here for that, you will need to hunt down an employee and wait for them to get the key. Occasionally, this can be a fast process but sometimes, I am left feeling forgotten about, standing there and twiddling my thumbs for five minutes... I don't have any complaints about the Photo Center, though. You can make a free account on walgreens.com, upload pics and use a coupon code to get a decent deal. When you pick up the photos (same day!), you pay at that counter so the bad line I'm talking about, isn't something you need to deal with for pictures. Bottom line: People go to Walgreens for little things. You expect to go in and get it out quick. They need to hire faster people or just have two registers open. If they can become faster at handling customers, this will be one good Walgreens. For now, stick to not-busy times... and you're good. read more

my only reason to visit this whitestone location walgreens is cause i am waiting for a friend who has a 2 hour delay arrival via kennedy airport and i rather be here then waiting around deltas terminal . your typical walgreens with a small parking lot with a 30 minute stay limit which i did not honor . picked up some dollar box candies that i will give away cause once i start i will not stop until i munch on it all and the paper towels and bathroom paper is always on sale for less then 5 bucks each . folks who work here seemed not to be that friendly cause a smile or a sincere thank you was not given with my coin change . i still like visiting walgreens especially when stuff is on sale and the walgreens card is used but next time it's wait at the airport bored and restless then visit this walgreens location . read more

Hands down, the worst Pharmacy customer service I've ever experienced. They never answer the phones. Anytime you try to refill online they never have it ready, so there's no reason to bother. Went there this past Saturday...I think it was the 9th before lunch, like maybe 11:40am. I overheard that the store is under going new management, if Saturday was a sample of things to come, then I'm sold! There was a new photo person there, he certainly looked like a manager though, his proper attire looked the part indeed. He was very courteous and very fast! If you've shopped at this location before, I was thrown off a little at the speed of service he was providing. He was not only dealing with the photo orders coming in on his computer, he was helping me at the kiosk machine, and pacing around getting price checks and item checks for walk up customers. This store needs more of this new guy! And this is the right direction it seems from the new store manager. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would, this is by far the worst Walgreens Ive ever been too. Firstly, I do not like shopping at Walgreens because they are over priced and have little to offer. Unfortunately, our Local Rite aid closed down as rent got too high and we got stuck with this piece of Shit pharmacy. I went in to get some acid reflux medicine and they had a lock on the merchandise, normal places you just go to the front register ask for the item and they go and get it out with the key. Here's the kicker, right next to the button they have a help button I clicked it and waited 5 minutes and then again and again. One guy tried to help but he did not have the right key. At this point I am waiting 20 mins with my 3 year old toddler and a poor elderly man, I was furious went to the front to ask for the general manager and the front clerk calls him over the speaker and this pathetic manager Gino was his had the nerve to reply via speaker I am on break!!! What kind of a joke are you running who are you hiring? He then comes out and I have a few words with him and he has the nerve to answer back with attitude. Instead of apologizing for having us waiting so long to get an item, on-top of having to wait on that line because God forbid you hire more cashiers. DON'T GO THERE. I made the mistake of parking there during the week leaving the car for five minutes while I went to the post office. When I came back, the car was being towed by DONE DEAL COLLISION & RECOVERY INC. The guy asked for $146.50. I told him that I won't pay it and went to speak to the manager of Walgreens. The driver from Done Deal said he'll wait. Well, he didn't. The manager from Walgreens said that nothing can be done. I come out from the store ready to pay the charge and instead of the driver who wanted to tow the car, his supervisor was there. He called the driver to bring it back. The driver comes back and now he wants $250 because I swore and yelled. I tell the manager that the company is unethical but she doesn't care. The driver goes back and forth then asks me how am I paying. Now, we agree on $175 and he wants it in CASH. I said no way! the amount was charged on my debit card. The "makeup girl" thinks she works in Sephora. She did not take away a foundation from the wall that I watched someone use that was not a tester after she told them it was not a tester. Two stars for the convenience of it being a few blocks away from my house. Besides that this location causes me nothing but aggravation because of the long line I have to wait on EVERY time I come in here. They only have one cashier working despite the two other registers in the front and the multiple employees I see walking around aimlessly. Anything you go in here for whether it being a pack of gum or a bottle of Advil you will be waiting 15 minutes to pay and leave. I went in to pick up my medicines, and they weren't ready. The pharmacists told me to come back in 30 min. I even asked her if I should stick around the store or leave and come back. She suggested that I leave and come back. I doubled checked with her to see if I was signed up to get text alerts. After 30 minutes, I didn't receive one, so I checked on my Walgreens account online to see if my prescriptions were ready, and it was noted that they were ready. When I went back to the store, the pharmacy was CLOSED for the day! I was so upset! The pharmacists did not mention that they were closing in 30 minutes! I would have stayed at the store if I knew that they were closing in 30 minutes. Well, then I asked a worker what time the pharmacy will open the following day. She told me it will open at 9 a.m. I went back this morning exactly at 9 a.m. and it was still closed! The manager told me that the pharmacy opens at 10 on Sundays. I understand that pharmacists are busy, but there needs to be a better communication between them and the customers. They also need to hire more staff in the pharmacy so someone's at the register at all times. There needs to be a sign with the pharmacy hours somewhere in the front of the store or in front of the pharmacy. read more
