I had scheduled a flu shot this morning for 0930 which the computer allowed me to do, I am to my appointment ready just to find the pharmacy completely closed. I just want to start off by saying the pharmacists here are extremely helpful. I've been having some issues with some medications and antibiotics that have been making me sick. One of the male pharmacists, I can't recall his name, and I tried to search for it for awhile but couldn't, has been extremely helpful with giving me advice about medications. This review is for the pharmacy only. I had to switch my pharmacy from Metro Market on State to this Walgreen's because of my insurance and it has been such a bad transition in terms of the physical location. First, the food: compared to Metro, I appreciate being able to order refills online and knowing how much my prescription will cost ahead of time. Unfortunately it only gets bad from there. I got a medication refilled recently and went on a Sunday afternoon to pick it up and spent almost 45 minutes in line even just to speak with staff. There were only 4 people ahead of me and at least 4-5 people behind the pharmacy. They were very inefficient. Once I actually got to the counter, it didn't take very long which I am thankful for, but overall it wasn't a pleasant experience. I've used their drive thru before and it's usually a bit faster, so I would recommend that route. read more

Well, now I use the pharmacy here and the other complaints are completely true. The store itself is great - clean, generally well stocked and really nice employees! That's still a 5-star for me. The pharmacy is 1-star. They're rude, unhelpful and couldn't care less. I pointed out that I was being incorrectly charged for the meds I was picking up and the person disappeared for 10 minutes, only to come back and tell me they had to "redo it" and that would be another 30 minutes. FOR WHAT?? In contrast, the Mayfair Walgreens went out of their way to save me $$ on items I was picking up - so I'll be asking that my scripts be moved there. read more

This Walgreens location is terrible. Specifically the pharmacy. The drive-thru is hit or miss on whether it's even open. When it's open there is usually a line 3-5 cars deep. When it's closed there is usually a line 10-15 people deep inside the store. Customer service is lacking depending on the tech. Expect to wait on hold for 45-60 mins if refilling a prescription over the phone. I understand the workers are going on strike etc...but this is people's medications. I can't afford to wait 5 days in order to get a prescription due to being poorly managed. I will no longer use this location, even it's the closest Walgreen's to my house. read more

TO SUM IT UP: unless you enjoy waiting in line for 40+ minutes every time you have to pick up a prescription to be told it's not ready yet, come back later (even though you've been alerted it's ready), I'd recommend not choosing this location. Worst part is the management really does not care how their employees act and how terrible of a job they're doing. If I could give this place negative 5 stars I would. I will preface this by saying I've worked at a Walgreens for three years before in the past so I understand the type of pressure the pharmacists and pharmacy techs can be under. I have been getting my prescriptions through Walgreens for 15 years, and up until summer of 2022 I never had a bad experience. I actually changed locations from the one on 60th & Oklahoma to here because that location was so bad. This one has surpassed that location on level of crappy customer service and care BY FAR. I am not kidding when I say every monthly prescription I have picked up since I changed to this location April 2023 has been a TERRIBLE experience. The techs do not communicate anything properly nor do they know how to do their job correctly. The pharmacists are so understaffed, and until tonight I didn't know but they are also incredibly rude. read more

This is specifically in regards to photo processing. I used the 1 hr photo printing option. The quality was horrible, most of the photos I printed were taken on a high quality professional camera and the prints look like shit, the color is horrible, they are blurry, cropped weird. This is a very poorly managed store. Out of stock on a lot of items. I went to get some bandaids and have the items were out of stock (see photo). Last I heard, bandaids can't prevent Covid so it's not like there was a run on this stuff or it's hard to keep in stock. There's a CVS up the street at 76th and Bluemound. I'll admit I wasn't a fan of this Walgreens the first time I went here, which was in the afterwork chaos of that shopping center. Sometimes the parking lot can be hectic with cars cutting through to avoid the light or the construction on state street. Sometimes a group of people outnumber the one person at the checkout line up front, but the staff member is patient and efficiently gets us out the door! However, its convenient and many of the items are priced better than the grocery store in the same parking lot. Also, I got my free flu shot here today (and the pharmacist did a good job). The people were friendly, quick and helpful in making sure that I ran my insurance through properly to get my $0 flu shot. Thanks for making it easy! read more

I'm totally a fan of this location of Walgreens. Why? A few reasons: 1) The service I've received has always been incredibly friendly. Seriously. Happy, lovely people work here. 2) Efficiency and convenience! Drop off a 'script and they'll have it filled in no time. And, if you register a phone number, they'll shoot you a text the minute it's ready. 3) Cleanliness paired with organization. Oh...and finally, the three best words ever uttered to every errand runner everywhere: Drive. Thru. Pharmacy. Errands are annoying. Any business that makes the running of errands more swift and convenient is tops in my book. Get to it! read more

Wow.... Twice in a week I had to wait over 30 mins for someone to pick up the phone in the pharmacy. Idk if they're understaffed or what, but I've never waited this long at any other location. I have a simple 1 min call /question. This is unbelievable. Hopefully no one else has to call and ask questions (just one.). Try to figure out the answer either in person or with your prescriber. This pharmacy by far is the worst. They are incompetent and unbelievably rude. Tonight would be my 5th prescription within a year they claim to not have received from my doctor. Today I was on hold for about a half hour so decided to just go in. They literally yelled at me and wouldn't let me get a word in. I confirmed twice with my doctor it was sent in. I had it documented from MyChart, and my doctors office even told me the time they sent it over for the second time in 3 days. Also noticed nobody was on the phone so don't know why I was on hold with "more than 3 people ahead of me" for a half hour. Also when I walked in there was a makeshift sign saying "pharmacy closed". It was not though. How can a pharmacy operate like this? Are there actual pharmacists on site because I think they have some ethical code they have to follow? I'm transferring over to swans pharmacy because I can't deal with such rude and disrespectful people in control of anything related to my health. The store workers are all rude too. They have friends they just sit around and talk to or on their phones. They don't speak to you at all when you check out. This place is a joke read more

The pharmacy staff are absolutely useless and customer service is nonexistent. The most recent bad experience is now, when I thought I'd give them a chance and I scheduled a flu shot, only to arrive to find out they closed the pharmacy early because of a computer issue and didn't bother notifying anyone who had an appointment that it was canceled. My physician sent a prescription to Walgreens and told me that the pharmacist would explain how the glucose testing device should be used. When the pharmacist presented it to me, I asked if he would show me how to use it. He said, "there are instructions in the box." I said, "This is all very new to me and my physician told me that you would explain how it should be used." He said, "The instructions are in the box!" The instructions are indeed in the box, but the process is quite complicated and I had to call the physician's office to have them go through the process with me because I couldn't make it work. They said it was inexcusable that the pharmacist didn't take the time to show me. So much for customer service at Walgreens at 6600 W. State in Wauwatosa! I'm looking for another pharmacy. read more

I usually have a good experience here (as good as one can have at a convenience store). It's clean, well stocked, and people are very helpful. The one complaint I have is the pharmacy. On more than one occasion I've gotten an email stating that my prescription is ready only to arrive at the pharmacy and have them tell me that the prescription was never called in. Again this has happened more than once. I've confirmed with my doctor that it was called in. There have also been occasions where I get an email that my prescription is ready and when I get there I'm told that it will be a while before it's ready. It can be very frustrating and not convenient at all. read more

First off the front of house staff is great, helpful etc!! The pharmacy SUCKS!!! They don't care about their patients and truly helping them. I had forgotten my Rx card but had all my info written down. I gave the info to the pharmacist but he still needed to call UHC to verify I waited a half hour for that only to be told they can't get me pricing only a Tier level I asked if they could give me a couple pills to tide me over and the guy laughed at me and said "ahhh no!" Granted these aren't narcotics here I'm getting medicine for the flu... anyways the whole thing was a mess but this was my take away 1. i am transferring my business elsewhere which stinks due to location proximity of this walgreens to my house 2. some pharmacies actually care about those they serve and while i understand they are legally bound to strict practice they can still find ways to keep their customers happy read more

This Walgreens would be okay minus the pharmacy. I called this morning and spoke to a pharmacist. I wanted to confirm what medications were ready and how much my copay would be. Well, the pharmacist was really snotty and said I'd have to come in with my insurance card because he won't take it over the phone. His attitude was so rude and condescending. I told him to cancel the prescriptions and I would have my regular pharmacy fill them on Monday. I'm not sure why the pharmacy department is so rude there. They previously loudly shamed me in front of a bunch of customers for not having prescriptions insurance (sorry my cash isn't good enough). They don't deserve my business. It's sad because most of the cashiers are friendly and helpful. I'm just tired of dealing with the rude pharmacy staff. read more

Just left the store and a little shocked......I used a basket in the store and after I checked out I put it next to the other ones as creating a "clean/used" stack.....the cashier says oh it goes right on top of the other ones......wait, so you aren't sanitizing after each customer? It's a Walgreens. It's convenient to my house. They have a decent parking lot. This is one of the least cluttered looking parking lots I have ever been in. The employees are OK ,and for some reason, I never see a ton of old ladies trying to use expired coupons here like I do at my normal Walgreens. They have never told me to "be well" here nor have the ever tried to sell me a flu shot. For that, I am appreciative. When I'm buying a sixer of beer and a bag of Doritos, being well is the least of my concerns. read more

Visiting this Walgreen's on State Street is always a pleasure. Whether you are coming to pick up prescriptions, get photographs, or just purchase household goods this Walgreen's has a nice, clean, inviting atmosphere. Whenever I am in this store, I try to look for a nice lady named Diane. She is usually at the front counter and assists a great deal, has friendly banter, and always has a smile. Her customer service skills are beyond exemplary. I would like to think she is one of the gears that makes the system work. Thank you Walgreen's and thank you Diane! Of late I call Walgreens my favorite store! Being back in Wauwatosa after 20+ years away all my Doctors are new and playing around with my prescriptions to figure out what works! I'm also not getting any younger so Icy Hot and Tylenol have become a major part of my regular diet! Trust me, if they had a preferred customer list I'd have to be on it by now. The pharmacy here is usually fast and friendly... never as busy on the location at Hwy 100 and Greenfield in West Allis near my former residence! I have had a few times where I was the only one standing at the counter or in line and felt as if I were being ignored. I was looked at multiple times but not acknowledged for more than 5 minutes. Another oddity about this location's pharmacy is that it's staffed, mostly, with male pharmacy techs. I don't know if this is a gender issue but these guys don't come off as very compassionate... unlike the majority of female techs I've encountered over my years of pharmacy "experience". It seems somewhat disorganized back there... as it has taken 10-15 minutes for the tech to have to look through boxes on the floor in various locations for my prescriptions. And this is AFTER I've received a text message saying my order was done. Usually the store itself is organized and clean but the men's room often leaves something to be desired. I don't know who's duty it is to clean in there but it really needs to be maintained throughout the day. The soap dispenser was broken for about a month... ironically it's posted on the door (or wall) "Employees must wash hands before returning to work". Since the sign doesn't say, "... with soap..." I guess it's acceptable!!? I use the photo department all the time... send them in on Walgreens.com, they send an email when it's complete, usually way before the scheduled pick up time! Now the cashiers are something else!! Always friendly and enthusiastic no matter what the situation!! And quick! They keep those lines moving... except on "Senior Tuesdays"... and then it's not their fault! I have to say I have a favorite, Kim, who works days!! It's always a pleasure to see her! WARNING: Be careful in the parking lot! It's safe in that there aren't suspicious characters hanging out there but it's one of the three main entrances to the "mall". There are no speed bumps and drivers come off of State St. and fly through Walgreens' parking area. Use caution backing out of the spaces and, especially, crossing to the store!! read more

Our family uses this pharmacy only because of the convenience to our home. They have given us the incorrect meds several times, changed the mfg of the meds without notification & just seem annoyed to help customers either at the counter and especially the drive thru. We are now making the 6mi. drive to another walgreens that is always content to help their customers. read more

The absolute worst walgreens there is. Pharmacy keeps you on hold r hangs up on you. My dr and I tried for 3 days to contact them. Then when I called customer service they transferred me three times and then continues to put me in hold at te pharmacy. The people I spoke to had no apologies for the awful experience either. I will NEVER go to this place again an I will discourage everyone I know to do the same. read more
