I came here to drop off a FedEx return and only needed a very small piece of tape to close the package. The employee refused to provide any tape and told me I had to buy it from the store. The only tape options I saw were around $15-$20 for a full roll, which felt excessive when I literally needed just a few inches. I ended up leaving without dropping off my package. read more

I know this pharmacy is a total trash fire (parking is impossible and the line is usually 20 people any given time), but one of their pharmacists tore the place apart trying to find a misplaced prescription for me that had been recirculated and mislabeled, and she then went way out of her way to find what they had available to get to me same day, and that's totally unheard of these days. (She deserves five stars, I'd one star the building since the last time I was here security laughed when someone having a crisis went through the line screaming at and basically spitting on other customers). They do not pay their staff enough, seem wildly understaffed, and don't really do much to manage any of the issues, but their staff is doing what they can and definitely deserve better support than they have. read more

The heavier-set Latina lady at the pharmacy was extremely unpleasant. Instead of being polite and respectful, she was aggressive and demeaning. When I arrived to pick up my mother's medicine, there was no line or anyone waiting. Yet, she aggressively pointed out that I needed to step in line. I was confused, as both signs said 'exit.' The worst part is that this behavior often comes from people with a superiority complex towards their own community. Please learn how to treat customers with respect. If you're having a bad day, perhaps reconsider coming to work. Management, please train your staff to be courteous to clients. No one deserves to interact with rude people like this. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this experience. read more

This review is for the pharmacy staff at the store on Geneva Ave. Pleasant and helpful.

Was trying to get a prescription filled for three weeks. Had a doctor send over the medication twice and they refused to fill it because my doctor was a new doctor (obviously, because for a while my psychiatrist was the only one sending meds and then I finally got a general doctor). They demanded treatment notes. I reached out several times to my provider, and they resent the prescription twice and told me they had included treatment plan both times. I called the pharmacy to check in the status (for about the 4th time) because now it was getting close to my next appointment where I was supposed to actually discuss my meds and how I was doing on them (which I could not because the order was never filled). This time a woman picked up and she was incredibly rude. I explained to her the situation and what my provider told me and asked about the status and what I could be doing or if they needed additional information, and she simply responded, "we already reached out, call again, we won't be filling this until then," then hung up on me before I could say anything else. Wasted my whole lunch at work just to sit on the phone then when I finally get ahold of someone, they're incredibly rude. I've worked in customer service for over 6 years, I'm usually very polite. Even if I wasn't, this is not how you treat someone, especially when it comes to their HEALTH. Hope this woman is fired. I will not be using thing pharmacy ever again, even though it's a 10 minute walk from my home. read more

Most aisles look like this. Even for $3 products. Not a friendly shopping experience. Waited 10 minutes and no one came after ringing the another one nearby. No response or anyone. They helped the haircare and photo department twice in that time since I rang before them. I complained to the cashier even after seeing some being helped in photos for a third time. Also you cant park anywhere and just to get in there are crowds of people smoking almost out front. You're better off at Ocean Ave Walgreens. read more

Bruh. I actually got carded at Walgreens for buying a music magazine about Prince! How is that even possible? Lol. Are we even living in the PMRC still in the year 2021? I even had to show them my California drivers license and had to show the cashier my credit card so the name matches and all that! I thought great music was supposed to have no age or color. Lol. I just wanna read and learn and remember about one of my inspirations in music. And Prince and his music is lit though! I wanna remember him and his records by buying this tribute magazine. I give them 2 stars just because the cashier at least let me buy this magazine. After spending 30 seconds inspecting my Drivers License and credit card like TSA. And was nice and gentle enough to let me get my hands on it. read more

They usual have what I need. If not I go to another location. Staff is here quite nice. Expect some wait time since every location is short staff if you need assistance to open a case. But I'm okay with that since I plan ahead so I'm not rushing myself. Be aware of Pharmacy. I came here to pick up some prescriptions before, and the wait is extremely excruciating long! Even if there's only 3-4 ppl in line ahead of you, you're waiting for a good 15-25 mins. Like most stores, they barely seem to have anything in stock now. One week I went in and 40% of their shelves in each aisles are empty. I was worried that they might be another store closing. They get a lot of thieves here. And same ones too. One time I was shopping for new hair clips and a tall skinny guy walked in, first thing the lady cashier said out loud was- NO YOU LEAVE NOW! She recognizes him from other times he have stolen or attempted to steal. They have security guard(s) now that sit close by the door viewing who comes in and who gets in line and pay and who leaves, but not sure if it's effective. But overall, location is close to me, walking and driving. Parking is good to me as I park residential and not meter. Staff is nice. There's a boba shop next door which I go to all the time. And also a bakery to get breakfast buns and mini hot dog buns for my niece and nephew. I get what I need there and get out. 4 stars. read more

Angry and beaten down staff. Crazed customers who fight over trying to save $1.50. Indifferent security guards. And my FedEx packages which take 20 minutes to find...it is literally a locked cabinet the size of a mini fridge...it is like if SF city workers somehow were able to get private employment. read more

Called 45 min prior to closing to verify that they had or had not received a prescription from my doctor. In 45 min I was on hold they would pick up about every 10 min and say nothing and transfer me to another hold. I think their system must track when they leave someone on hold too long and they are playing games. At 5:03 a woman picks up and tells me they are closed. She tries to hang up on me twice but I told her I would raise hell with the manager tomorrow in person if she hung up on me at this point. She says nothing and transfers me back to on hold. 2 min later someone else picks up and helps me. I'm glad I was stubborn and stayed on, I was sure she just transferred me back into limbo. Horrible customer service! read more

Pharmacy customer service is terrible I called over and over again to fill my medication prescription and one lady kept picking up the phone and just putting people on hold without telling them she's going to put you on hold which is not what they teach you in school I'm sure of it I had to call the DR line to reach anyone I do not recommend this Walgreens pharmacy !!!! read more

This is solely for the pharmacy, the organization of it, etc. The pharmacists and staff are saints to have to deal with the never-ending line of customers. There are apparently 2 lines at the pharmacy counter for picking up prescriptions. One is the "express pay" line and the other is a regular line. Whether you used express pay via and Walgreens app or paid online, the "express pay" line makes no difference. You still need to get in line with all the other folks...why? I wish I knew. Calling the pharmacy is a nightmare. Phone just rings on and on for until you, the customer, hangs out due to frustration of waiting for over an hour, or the phone system decides it just wants to hang up on you because no one has taken your call. I constantly hear someone pick up quickly, just to place you on hold without any acknowledgement. Although this is a convenient and close location for me as the neighborhood Walgreens, I am now willing to have my rx picked up elsewhere. I was told by the pharmacist that due to the recent closure of the location on Mission and Ocean, they are getting slammed with filling those rxs as well. Definitely another reason to choose a different location for medication/rx needs as this will only get worse, unless you're happy with waiting for 1-2 hours to pick up rxs. Walgreens email/text notification system is also horrible. I get email notifications for rx pick up for a certain day, I get in the super long line, ask about said Rx, get told the medication is not ready...what?! After telling them I need this item today, they go and place the order in the system...another 30-1 hour wait. Get back in the long ass line and finally after 2 hours of waiting in lines, I get my rx. Simply ridiculous. if they only picked up their phones, that would have saved me at least an hour or more wait to have them place the "pending" order I needed. This place is the worst for pharmacy services (Nothing against the staff, they're fine). This Walgreens pharmacy needs to change something because it's not working at all. read more

Walgreens Pharmacy staff is so rude and unhelpful that they give medical staff a bad name. I have worked in the medical field for 20yrs and to see that they refuse to help a patient get their medical is crazy to me. I had my pcp fax over my new Rx to them at 10am today. I walked into Walgreens at 1pm and they want to tell me they have no fax from pcp so I ask if they can request it and the lady tells me no. Call them and have them do it we don't call and request Rx from Providers. Provides have to call us or Fax us Rx. For them to just refuse to request a refill is so crazy. Especially after I just heard you tell another patient from a different race that they would be contacting their pcp for a refill request. I don't understand why people work with patients if they are not gonna try to help all patients. read more

Items here are pricier than those at other stores, but Walgreens has good deals in their weekly ad that occasionally compel me to visit. Sale items quickly run out of stock. Shop on Tuesdays when they restock their inventory for a better chance of getting what you want. Otherwise, I'll get a raincheck for sale items out of stock, allowing me to buy the items later at sale price even when the sale period is over. Not many people know or take advantage of this useful feature at most stores, but it's great to utilize especially at this Walgreens. Employees here are generally nice and helpful. It's a small store, so when I ask an employee where an item is, they'll walk me to the exact spot instead of just giving me an aisle number. On one shopping trip, I asked an employee for help with three hard-to-find items, and he left to scour the shelves and back inventory to bring back everything I needed. His name was Andrew, and I greatly appreciated his stellar help and service. Lines can sometimes form at checkout, but another register usually opens up shortly after. When I use a coupon for $0.79 cans of tuna limiting customers to just three, the cashiers have often been nice about letting me buy six cans in two separate transactions. This store has its inconveniences, but it's still my useful and friendly neighborhood Walgreens that I'll continue patronizing. read more

I stopped by here after I met up with cousin who lives around the area. I needed to buy some scissors so we ducked in here right quick to purchase them. Im rating them so high because when I said out loud how expensive one pair of scissors was, the manager who overheard me found me in one of the aisles and handed me a pack that had five different types of scissors for the same price. I dont even know what the hell im going to do with all the other scissors, but I bought it anyway and thanked him for helping me spend less. So that dude is the reason why I am a fan of this Walgreens that I'm sure I will rarely be going to. read more

Decent Walgreens and it's big with spacious aisles. They always have everything I need and it's very organized. The area is slightly ghetto though. One time, I was in the aisle where they keep the toothpaste and a shady guy with a huge jacket stood next to me and stuffed an entire shelf's worth of toothpaste into his open jacket. Before I could say anything, he ran off with the whole store watching him, including the workers. What could a guy do with that much toothpaste? That happened at night so be aware of your surroundings when you're here at night. read more

The assistant manger who's an American does not know how to treat a customer. She's whiny, a LAZY worker and who does not bother to apologize or help a customer when she's tired. There's an very easy way to my issue and I'm 120% sure. She just don't wanna deal with it apparently and it's obvious from her lazy expression. I don't know how she got promoted with that kind of attitude. Also, if she don't wanna deal with something that's supposed to be HER "JOB", at least have the customer leave without thinking she's a/an _____ (insert word; use your imaginations). I've seen other assistant managers in the store that are way hard working than she is and also know how to treat every customer. Lastly, what's funny is, she's the only one sitting down while everyone else is standing. HAHAH... Instead of her ruining my day, I'm laughing hard at her. 1 STAR. read more

I called the pharmacy to ask for an eta on when my prescription would be delivered to the store. I wasted my entire lunch break as I was on hold for 45 minutes. So disappointed! I came here to take passport pictures for my 2 year old son and the guy named Lou who's supposed to be a "manager" from what I've heard at the photo lab does NOT know how to deal with kids and take a decent picture! Yes I know, kids can be really tough when it comes to these things but my son was actually staying still for a good 2 minutes, smiles and all but this dude took hella long to click the button. I mean how much time do you really need to capture a single photo?!? So then, my son starts to get scared of him because he wasn't even smiling or atleast try to help the situation! And what pissed me off more was the way he was talking to my again, TWO year old son like he's an adult for instructions. Like wtf?!? You know he's a baby right??? So we had to stop and calm him down for a while and when we came back, same sh*t went down but we had to take whatever he had in his old a** camera. If we weren't in a hurry to get his passport, I sure wouldn't've bought the damn pictures! Oh and turns out, the quality of the photos look sh*tty! I live right down the street. Been to Walgreens only a handful of times since they renovated the old yellow Apollo shell of a building that was an eyesore for YEARS. The new store seems to have been at least partially responsible for much of the extra foot traffic along Mission and Geneva. That's great for all the surrounding businesses - and something that was sorely needed. Normally, I'm not supportive of large chain stores. But some areas of the city need that extra nudge/investment that stores like Walgreen have the interest or willingness to take. This was one of those areas. Walgreens is convenient, and has those things that you just need, and don't have time to shop around for - such as cough drops, birthday cards, allergy medicine, sleeping pills. The employees are also nice. The only reason I don't go more often is that I don't find myself in a lot of emergency situations - but when I do, it really comes in handy. read more

Loved this store. I work in the area and this store always has everything I need. Great service in the pharmacy department. I ran out of Lipitor pills and they automatically called my doctor to get approval for the refills, so that I didn't have to come back on another day to pick up. In addition, my family just came back from a european vacation, took 600 pictures, and sent them to this Walgreens online for printing. The photo department was so helpful to my wife & guided her through the whole process. We got all the great pics fairly quickly. What can I say.............this place is an asset to this neighborhood. It's certainly the best looking building in the area with lots of other great adjoining businesses to compliment the block. read more
