While this isn't my nearby Walgreens, it is at a convenient location near places I frequent. Today's visit was my first one in years to this location, but it was convenient to run in to grab some items for my father. I found their staff to be helpful and ready to point me the right direction. I haven't been to a Walgreens in a while, and I was sent a reminder recently that my W Cash Rewards were going to expire if I didn't use some of them or make a purchase soon. As such, I've been to a few Walgreens in the last few weeks. When walking around today, I saw that the aisles were looking good and most items in stock. When I was checking out, there was no one ahead of my father and me, so it was an easy and quick transaction. One thing that made this a unique Walgreens visit was that this location hosts a Village Medical Primary Care office within the Walgreens store itself. While it was closed, it reminded me of the CVS Minute Clinics. Either way, it is a good use of the store though appears to be completely independent of Walgreens (whether or not this is the case). The W Cash Rewards program is a free program to sign up for and easy to use. You earn back 1% in Walgreens Cash rewards storewide, even at the pharmacy, and 5% in rewards on Walgreens branded products. There are also sales prices automatically unlocked and other savings coupons where you can earn reward dollars by making a purchase after selecting a given coupon. Sometimes the coupons are on a receipt from your most recent purchase. You can also find other coupons on the app or the website (or in a booklet or ad when you arrive at the store). While I do not frequent Walgreens as often as other drug stores, I often wonder why when I happen to visit a Walgreens store as it's so easy to shop there and my experiences are often very pleasant. read more

I'd avoid this location at all costs, the pharmacy department is a joke. I've had issues with them on multiple occasions where they've lost and just never fulfilled prescriptions and they don't even bother to contact you. This is my most recent experience with them, waiting on pain medication after having come home from the ER the night prior. I called in the morning and it wasn't fulfilled, waited HOURS and it still was not fulfilled so I call back to speak to a living person and the second someone answers, they quickly put you on hold and don't allow you to speak, this happened to me several times before they finally took the time to talk to me then they quickly said it would be ready in the next thirty minutes, I guess we'll find out if they follow through with the pickup time. read more

I've not had an experience with this location in which they're not completely overrun. Even on the phone, I'll wait down the queue until I'm #1 in line, but then put on hold at least 5 times immediately with a "WALGREENSPHARMACYPLEASEHOLD!" Can't even get a word in, so I typically give up there. Sounds like they're in a war zone they're so inundated at any given point, which I'm assuming is no fault of their own. This location is in the middle of one of the busiest shopping centers in town - please hire them some help! read more

Would give zero stars if I could. Customer service is terrible. Pharmacy medication stocks are sub par like a third world country. Today was the last chance. Will never ever set foot on this store again. Rx sent in four days ago and again two days ago because the first one was never filled....was told it would be ready. Came in the AM, still not ready. Come back in 2 hours. 2 hours later they tell me they are all out. Apparently putting norvasc from a big bottle into a little bottle and printing out a little label takes two hours and in that time they happened to run out. You guys are the worst. I have had my prescription delivered to this location for over a year and they have never had my prescription ready when they let me know it is by text. I've consistently had to come another day to pick up my order. Is it really too much to ask for to have the order ready when you text to say it is ready? My orders have always been late. I have lived all over the valley & in much busier areas & this is by far the worst Walgreens pharmacy I ever had to deal with. It's a shame, because I actually like the store/retail at this location. The sales staff there are great & it's a nice place to shop, but the pharmacy has made it impossible to be a customer here anymore. My prescription has been with them on auto refill for the past year. In spite of them knowing they have to fill it at the same time every month for an entire year, they never have it in stock on the day I need it. They always send email telling me I have to wait 10 days or more for them to get it. When I tell them I need it sooner, then they always find it nearby at another location, but only after I've had to wait on a line that takes forever or call & wait on hold for up to 45 mins. And don't be surprised if are on hold that long & you finally hear them pick up & immediately hang up! They do that regularly! I don't know what I was thinking when I arranged to get flu & covid shots here. They could barely handle that & even with an appointment, must have wasted a good 30 mins waiting for our shots with no one in front of us! The pharmacy staff cannot seem to keep up with the customers, the phones or the drive thru. It is so poorly staffed & so poorly run, I will never stop here for anything again. They really need just one person to handle the phones & let everyone else handle the in person customers. read more

You put your trust on a big company like Walgreens that they would deliver but this store and all the surrounding ones in the area a worthless. Systems down, pharmacists leaving early for the day, no staff excuses, closing early for no reason, lunches and siesta in the middle of the day..... Walgreens needs to shut down and allow other companies to open in its place that we can trust w our medication and health. In the end it may mean life....or at least the very quality of it. Walgreens pharmacies are notoriously slow and the people who work in them are rude, in my experience. I am new to the area and started using this Walgreens for my scripts and sure enough, no difference. They are slow, rude, and don't seem to know how to use their own system. I have waited at least 15-20 min in my car each time I stop for my prescriptions. Their automated system calls you incessantly reminding you to pick it up or they will restock it, but every time I drive by I see 3-5 cars waiting, and don't have 30 min to sit and wait. I have transferred all but one prescription to Amazon, and had ZERO issues. They fill and deliver my meds the same day and sometimes within an hour of me submitting, so it's POSSIBLE. Walgreens is not a small company. There is no excuse for this horrendous service. read more

Absolute joke. Dont have a spleen and am brutally sick and brought my prescription in at 5pm. He said it would be ready by 9pm. It wasnt. I come back the next day and its still not ready. Havent even started the process. Im rocking a 102 fever and there is literally zero accountability or follow through from anyone working here. Just do what you say. Communicate. If I could have given them a 1/2 star I would have. This pharmacy has the rudest, unhappiest, and worst pharmacy techs that I have ever experienced in my 51 years of living life. It surprising that it's not ever improved since it's such a large thriving pharmacy in the middle of Desert Ridge. I have switched to another pharmacy ( the best decision! ever!) but occasionally have to be here b/c my Dr sends it to the wrong place. Tonite I made another visit and they screwed up again. The pharmacy needs some anger management classes. I showed up on time for my COVID booster shot and simply asked which line I should be in since nothing was marked. The tone and demeanor the women used was unprofessional. Every person she interacted with she spoke down to, didn't show a willingness to help and overall just seemed annoyed. I wanted to give her an out as they were busy but no reason to act like that. Quote "Yup that's not going to happen. I've got 150 people just like you and can't help until tomorrow." Said this to one gentleman who urgently needed his medication. I patiently waited 45 minutes even though I had scheduled my booster appointment in advance. THE ABSOLUTE WORST LOCATION FOR YOUR PHARMACY NEEDS! They never called us to let us know what if the scripts was filled. FYI sent to them at 10 AM! We go over at 4 pm. They say they didn't have the meds and had to order them in . They would be in by 2 PM the following day. We waited until 3 PM. Called them, was placed on hold for 32 min. Finally get someone to talk to us. They said "Oh your refill is early". FYI it was not. its for 28 days not 30. 28 days was yesterday! Then they say they don't have enough so they would have to order it in. HELLO YOU SAID THAT YESTERDAY. That can't tell us if it was ordered and didn't arrive.. They have zero clue. It only gets better... So we ask.. "Can you call and find out if it was ordered and if it will be in tomorrow?" REPLY well if we have time. HELLO... you lied to me yesterday, didn't call me today and lied to me.. where is your customer service??? We asked if they can call another location to see if they have the meds in stock. "IF WE HAVE TIME" oh and you would have to have your doctor send them a new script to that location since they can't transfer it. If it were not for the fact that they have the specific manufacturer of the medicine that works best for me I would not even give them the time of day. CVS has always been our go-to and we always have amazing service. We use them for all the other prescriptions. I don't know if it's just this location that is so bad or if this is Walgreen's policy of customer service in the pharmacy area. FYI the people not associated with the pharmacy are very nice but it's the pharmacy that makes me not want to ever step foot in a Walgreens even if my life depended on it. read more

Walgreens is the preferred provider w/ my insurance, and I have very happily used the pharmacy at Tatum and Rose Garden Lane for 4+ years because it is closest to my house, and at other Walgreens locations before this one.. They were open until 9:00 pm until recently, when they cut their hours back to 7:00 during Covid, and they have kept the more limited hours. I personally like to go after 7:00, because the DESERT RIDGE location is a traffic nightmare at other times, so this is a minor inconvenience, but this is not the reason I am giving them the lowest rating available. The service at this location was reasonable before, but it has spiraled down precipitously since then. 1. There is almost always a line at the drive through pick-up... usually 2-5 cars; 2. When you call to speak with the pharmacy, you usually end up waiting 20+ minutes, during which time an ANNOYING recording informs you every 20 seconds (seriously!) that there are 2-3-4 calls ahead of you, however, TODAY took the cake: I was ON HOLD for 20 MINUTES... (during which time the number of calls ahead of me went from 3 to 2), when the "recording" announced that they would be breaking for lunch for 30 minutes, and I could either hold for 30 MORE MINUTES or call back!! This is absolutely RIDICULOUS...... and OUTRAGEOUS that one can hold for 20 minutes, and rather than answering calls that had been waiting ON HOLD, they simply leave the callers with the choice of hanging up knowing that they had just wasted 20 MINUTES, or they can remain on hold hanging for another 30 minutes while the staff go to lunch. Normally I would hang up, but I was curious to see what will happen, so I decided to remain ON HOLD....... Hmmmmm... I have now been on hold for 47 MINUTES, and I'm told I have only 3 more minutes to wait. We shall see........ I'm now at 52 MINUTES and apparently they have returned from lunch because the recording has changed to "I'm sorry, our staff is answering other calls. Please hang on and we will be with you shortly". I'm now at 58 MINUTES, still ON HOLD, but this time, they're not telling me how many calls are before me, but earlier recordings indicated that the other callers that were previously ahead of me had dropped off, so I am skeptical that there were any other callers ahead of me. After 64 MINUTES ON HOLD, the pharmacist finally picks up. When I inquire why it was taking so long, she indicated that she was all alone there and had 173 (!!) PRESCRIPTIONS waiting to be filled. When I inquired further, she indicated that the other people had called in sick. This kind of thing happens in all businesses...OCCASIONALLY, however, these kinds of wait times are NOT unusual at WALGREENS, so there are clearly some other problem that the Company needs to address. And there is NO EXCUSE for leaving people who already had been waiting ON HOLD for 20+ MINUTES hanging for an additional 30 MINUTES while the Pharmacy closes for lunch! At a minimum, they should install a system like they have at APPLE Support where they allow you to hang up without losing your place in the QUEUE, and the next available tech support person calls you back as soon as possible. I don't think that it's the Pharmacist's fault because I recently read something that pharmacies (like other businesses) are experiencing problems finding pharmacy support personnel... Perhaps they need to raise their pay scales and offer good benefits so that their employees can live on what they make....... Maybe even offer conditions that make people WANT to work at WALGREENS??? I'm sure that Congresswoman KATIE PORTER and her WHITE BOARD would be happy to help WALGREENS management figure this one out!! I would go to another pharmacy, but I'm stuck with Walgreens due to my insurance. Perhaps it's time to revisit the WALGREENS-BY-MAIL option for my recurring prescriptions or change insurance plans, but as I'm writing this, but I'm thinking of my friend Kristi who complains that far too many businesses are using COVID and the subsequent SUPPLY CHAIN problems to excuse poor customer service when these problems have nothing to do with their lousy Customer Service, and I must say that I agree with her. read more

No, never again. Was supposed to have prescription fulfilled for a liquid antibiotic. When we got it home, It was the powder still. No one had mixed it up. Caused my husband to have to go out again. Prior to that they don't ever call or text when it's ready. I had to call them and say after I dropped off my prescription at 11 AM, I called at 6 PM. They said oh yeah it's just sitting here. I am supposed to get a call and text. I got one two minutes later. Why do I have to notify them? No never again! read more

If you want your prescription filled timely (same day), plan on calling and speaking to the pharmacy team at least three times to make sure it's being filled. Otherwise, it will sit in their queue and never get filled. Ive had several bad experiences here, but the worst was having a script filled after an abdominal surgery. I had to call 3 times after my surgery to ask for a status, was told different answers each time, and it took them 12 hours from when it was called in to fill it. Wow, talk about lack of customer service. I had ordered a prescription for my husband today, March 11. I decided to use drive through, and pulled up and waited behind 2 cars about 10 min. First car finally leaves, and 2nd car moves up. This car proceeds to hand staff a paper bag into the push out slot you use when you are picking up your prescription. This car leave & the guy states, sorry we are closed now and you will have to come back. (Guess that was his lunch delivery guy). I said it one prescription, he said sorry we are closed. I cannot understand how everyone in pharmacy takes a lunch at same time. They didn't have a close sign out at drive in, like an bank drive through window, when I pulled up. it is truly a wonder how these pharmacists and pharmacist assistants/employees continue to work in this industry. The horrible and rude things that I've overheard being said to the sweetest employees...you wouldn't believe me if I told you what I've heard. If the pharmacy does not have your medication in stock, or if the prescription you dropped off yesterday isn't yet ready, please chill the heck out. Yelling and screaming and calling people names will get you absolutely nowhere (except maybe mentioned in a yelp review), and it most definitely will not make your prescription appear any quicker. Special shout-out to Kylie, at the drive up window--she has dealt with so much, and that is only from what I've been able to overhear from behind other cars in line. She still manages to have a positive attitude and kind smile. She's always been nothing but amazing help to me and my boyfriend! The whole pharmacy works so hard and genuinely cares.
