Had the worst experience here! I walked in the store behind my boyfriend and we both went our seperate ways. He went to the cosmetics counter to return something, and I went to look at nail polish near by. The cashier that was helping my man was training an employee and whispered to her "her over there, she always shop lifts. Keep ur eyes on her" and pointed in my direction. My boyfriend was taken aback, thinking they were talking about him. He asked "who,me?" And the cashier assured him they weren't talking about him. "Her over there" she said and pointed at me again. She hadn't figured out that we were a couple since we weren't standing next to each other. This upset him and he yelled to me "babe, she just said to keep on eye on u becuz u shoplift all the time". I thought he was joking and I laughed. Then I thought about it and approached the cashier and asked "wait u didn't really say that about me, did you?" The cashier rolled her eyes and made a face that felt to me like she was mocking me. I told her she must hav mistaken me for someone else. And I asked her again why she would say that about me, but she just stared and gave me no reply. I was so upset that I called the manager an hour after I left. The manager had seen me leaving visibly upset and assure me she spoke to her cashier afterwards. This cashier had made up some story, claiming she wasn't talking about me and that my boyfriend heard her wrong. I felt like she didn't believe my side of the story as she flip flopped between half hearted apologies and excuses. I brought up the fact that I had asked the cashier point blank why she would say something like that about me. If we misheard her, she should have mentioned it then. Instead she pointed at me and told my bf "no not u, HER over there!" Mistakes happen, I understand this. I also understand shoplifting is probably a serious concern to the Walgreens staff. Still, if u make a mistake the right thing to do is apologize. If u say something to offend your customer, even if u feel u were justified, the professional thing to do is apologize. read more
