This review is about Walgreens/Providence Express. On 2/10/26 I called my care team at Providence. I had what I thought was a fractured jaw. They advised me to go to Walgreens for a 10:40 AM appointment. I visited with a nurse practicioner. He advised that I get an xray at Providence. He said he would line that up for the same day and have them call. It is now 9:45 AM the next morning. Nobody had ever called. One would think that this was a simple problem with a simple solution. Apparently, that is incorrect. Waste of time and money. read more

UPDATE - This review was written back in March but didn't go live until today. I took a prescription for an antibiotic in for my elderly mother on our way home from an emergent hospital visit. They were too busy to fill it despite being open for several more hours. I was told I had to wait in line just to even drop off the script. I chose to return and drop it off first thing in the morning. I again had to wait in line to drop it off and was told it would be at least 45 minutes before it was filled. I politely told the person I couldn't return until the afternoon so to feel free to prioritize other prescriptions over my mother's. Later in the day, I got a text saying the prescription was ready for pick up. When I went in, the cashier said something about it being ready but that the pharmacist had to "cap" it and couldn't right now. I said, "Oh, I got a text saying it was ready. Okay, when will it be?" I wasn't even annoyed. She said, "It is ready. But the pharmacist is busy giving vaccines." So I said, "Well, when will the pharmacist be available?" She said, "Could be 15 minutes, could be an hour, have a seat." I tried a few more times to get her to help me understand if it made sense to wait or come back later. She absolutely refused - rather wanted to insist that the prescription was actually ready, even though I couldn't take it with me (it was just semantics - I never should have been drawn into it - but for the love of God, it's not ready if it's not ready to leave with the customer, right?). I was just stunned. I get that pharmacies are short staffed. I really tried to be understanding. But she was just being unkind for the sake of being unkind. What is the deal these days? Walgreens is asking its customers to show kindness and grace at an unprecedented level and this is how we are treated? And this women clearly just didn't care. I truly don't get it. The good news is that I stopped and spoke to the store manager on my way out and he was super kind and understanding. And the cashier at the front was nice too. Even the other clerk in the pharmacy wasn't terrible (although she absolutely should have been more helpful when she saw how awful her colleague was being). But to the person who was just so rude to me. You ruined my day. I can't imagine that was your intent. But you did. Maybe think about that next time. read more

Worst pharmacy ever. Don't go here. It can take a week to get simple prescriptions, they won't answer their phones and they are really rude.

Consistently understaffed, belligerent and petty. I was told an urgent prescription would be ready at 5pm, when I showed up at 6pm (after waiting in line of only 5 people, one who left, for over 40 minutes) I was told it would be another half hour or so to fill another 6 precisions prior to mine. I'm in disbelief this is the modern process of a pharmacy. I hope this pharmacy and its processes in their entirety are no longer in existence soon so we can get our medication when needed and when promised. read more

Unfortunately, the Walgreens in Newberg, OR, may be the worst pharmacy that I've ever dealt with. Short staffed, long lines. Yesterday, physician office called in (email?) my rx. Driving home, I received a text that the rx was delayed. I called them and the woman that answered the phone confirmed my rx and said it was for 90 days. It was not; it was for 30. With that, she put me on hold saying she would check with the pharmacist. I drove the next 15 minutes, on hold, and went to the store anyway. The recording at the beginning of my call said that they were closing early, at 6pm. I arrived about 3 minutes before to find the pharmacy, inside, closed completely. About 15 cars in line at the drive thru. Oh, I was still on hold. I finally hung up after being on hold for about 25 minutes, with nobody returning to the line. If there was a "minus star" rating, I would use it. Similar lack of service anywhere in the store. In fairness, when you do get to the main checkout, the folks are usually pleasant and professional. Received message that my prescription was ready on Sunday. Went to Walgreens after 2:00pm but drive-thru never opened even though the sign said it would. Stopped by Monday, just after 5:30. There were three (3) cars in line ahead of me. I don't know how long the first car had been there before I got there, but we all waited for another 25 minutes for the first car in line to complete its transaction. This is UNFAIR to everyone else waiting in line. Only people who have a prescription that is ready or are dropping off a prescription to be prepared and picked up at a later date/time should be allowed in the drive thru. No one should monopolize the drive thru and Walgreens should not permit people who are so rude to do so. If their prescription is not ready, give them a date and time when it will be ready and send them on their way. Walgreens used to do this and it kept the line moving for those of us who prepare in advance. Walgreens needs to re-institute this policy to help facilitate fairness to all customers. read more

This is the absolute worst place to get your meditation! Especially if it's a controlled substance that you can only pick up within two days of the last refill. So I called my Vyvanse in and nobody called/texted me to say they didn't it, so I went to pick it up. This was on a Friday and After waiting 20 minutes in line thing for me "oh yeah we won't have that on Monday!" I'm like but I'm out of medication I'm only allowed to call it in 48 hours in advance, why didn't somebody notify me? "I don't know" is all the lady kept repeating, adding that the Automated system is supposed to notify people when there's a problem. The fact that They're Relying on automated system, over human interaction when it comes to people's prescriptions, especially controlled substances, is an absolute joke, and horrible way to run a business! And then to add insult to injury, they now close at 8 PM because apparently they can't find any staff to work! Yet on the website it still shows they are open till 10 PM, and pharmacy till 9! I found out by trying to go and pick up my prescription at 8:30 only to see that they were closed! Not a very great way to communicate with your clients and let them know what's going on! AND THEY DO NOT ENFORCE THE MASK MANDATE!!! Shame on you, Newberg Walgreens, I'm takin my business elsewhere! read more

I think they deserve NO stars. This Walgreens (their pharmacy) is an absolute waste of space. None of their employees are ever doing their job. You won't be able to get someone on the phone if your life depended on it. Your prescriptions will never be available because they "won't have it until tomorrow", oh and if that's not bad enough, just show up the next day, it still won't be ready. You'll get this response several times before someone finally explains they don't get their fills until specific dates. So if you're running low on medication and depend on having your regular dosage, this is not the pharmacy to trust. On the corner of screw your needs and your time. read more

This is absolutely the most horrendous pharmacy ever. I have waited in line for over an hour several times over the last few months - today was 30 minutes, and then I had to leave the line to pick up my kids at preschool. They offer no apologies, just say they are short-staffed. Hire some more staff, Walgreens. read more

Parents wanted in the drive thru lane before closing hours for an extended time and when it came to there turn to get important meds that are needed for survival the Walgreens employee closed the drive thru before it was there turn. I may not be an expert with Pharmacy hours but I do however work at a business that offers drive thru services . Whenever a customer is waiting in line before closing hours we always attend to them as we are a bank. This is unacceptable Walgreens Newberg. read more

This pharmacy is a total joke. The wait times to pick up prescriptions are unbelievable. If there are three cars in the drive through, you better be prepared to wait 20-30 mins. They staff one person working the drive thru AND the counter. They close EVERY DAY for lunch. Here's an idea: hire more staff, one for the counter and one for the drive thru and and extra person to help rotate during the lunch hour and stay open like all other retail establishments. It's not that hard. I've been threatening to pull my prescriptions for years but after not being able to pick up for the last 5 days due to excessive wait times (25 mins +) I finally did if. would have been no stars if yelp allowed it. the pharmacy actually ran out of a very common pain med and because of short staffing it took us a total of four hours on hold followed by three hours in the drive through to fill the script. By the time we had it in hand 48 hours had passed since it was called in. We would have been better off to have called it into a locally owned pharmacy up to and including 100 miles away. IF I could I would give them 0 starts. I know that the employees are trying to do their best, but enough is enough. I made an appointment to get a COVID test, arrived 20 minutes early, got in line . . . 45 minutes later and as it was my turn at the drive thru window, they simply turned off the lights and put a sign up that said they were out to lunch. Their pharmacy staff is so rude I wonder if it's a volunteer position? If they are actually paid employees then they need to change their attitudes. I had to pick up pain meds for my son who has a kidney stone. I arrived at 8:08pm and they wouldn't do it because they close at 9:00pm. There was nobody around and I had waited for a solid 5 minutes before they even came to the window. They said I could drive to Beaverton to their 24 hour store. Yes, this Walgreens is like any other. They got your toothpastes, makeups, toys, seasonal items, foods, medicines, wines and beers, candies, electronics, along with all sorts of odds and ends stuff. Aisles are nice and wide and the place is clean. Parking lot is also nice and big with generally wide spaces. Oh, and there is a drive through in case you need meds and don't want to cant easily get outta your car. read more

The service at this store has fallen off considerably over the last three months. My prescriptions are never ready on time and I usually have to make two trips to get what I need. Insulin syringes have been especially problematic and many times I get a partial supply at a higher cost per syringe that the usual full box. Then I have to return a week later to get the remainder of my order. I'm done with Walgreens. I'll be getting my prescription mail order from Express Scripts. read more

Went to pharmacy to get a flue shot. Laraine was the one to check us in and when my mother started giving her information Laraine interrupted her and told her to only speak when she asked her too. Then she asked her exactly what my mother was telling her before. Then Laraine asked if mother had ever have any serious reactions. As is a silent rule to always tell the most details one knows to the doctor mother starts to tell Laraine that she's gotten sick after having flu shots in the past. Again the clerk interrupts and says. "Severe symptoms ma'am." I thought maybe she was new and didnt really know how customer service works but by the way she kept talking to her co worker about daily life I assumed she wasnt new to the job. After waiting a half hour we go back up to the counter to a different clerk. The clerk asks us for our IDs, our street addresses and then hands us papers to fill out. At this point Im pretty pissed. We wait another half hour before they finally got to us. Luckily the doctor knew what he was doing and was nice enough but damn. read more

If I could give this Walgreens no stars I would. I have never received good service from these guys. They always take a very long time to check out (even when no ones in the store), and when I tried to print photos of my wedding even with permission from my photographer, I was not allowed to receive them. I would have appreciated a call that they needed a printed copyright form before I drove over there to pick them up. I understand copyright laws but the photo person was extremely rude about it and would not listen to any of my questions. She should have apologized for the inconvenience and explained things to me but instead she just kept repeating that she couldn't give them to me. Rude and very unprofessional service here. Terrible Pharmacy Wait time especially for drive up. Today was the icing on the cake...I waited over 50 minutes with only 4 cars in front of me. About a month ago the wait was over 15 min with only 2 cars in front. I am just picking up a prescription that I already called in AND they called me 3 times to remind me I have a prescription. They have one person that goes between waiting on customers at the inside counter and then goes over to the drive up. When you mention the wait time they say they are working as fast as they can. But that does not help me as I am stuck in a line I cannot get out of because there is a car in front of me and one behind. I understand medications need to be correct and you have certain customers that take longer but Walgreens should re-evaluate where there are time sinks and make improvements... I sure do miss Bi-Mart pharmacy and will be switching to mail delivered prescription... read more

Do not get specialty photographs printed here. Every single one I've had printed, I've had them destroy. Prints on wood had indentations on them. Twice. And they didn't think it was a problem. Twice I had prints on metal. Scratches and lines, and they tried to pawn it off on me. Do yourself a favor. Send your stuff to the Walgreen's in Sherwood. Success every time. read more

I recently went to the Walgreens pharmacy to drop of an RX, simply drop a piece of paper off..... it was a night mare! I stood at the counter being ignored for at least ten minutes while two women behind the counter continued to deal with a couple other customers that were not even at the register. No one could even acknowledge I was there by at least saying they would be with me shortly. I actually started to wonder If I Had suddenly developed super powers and was invisible. Finally some other employee came to the pharmacy department and helped someone in the drive through and then moved on to me. Now comes the disaster of just trying to fill a simple script, all of which there was no need for their incompetency. I will not be putting myself through the torture ever again. This Walgreens is like any other Walgreens in terms of its layout. Sometimes, however, it seems like the staff spends more time chatting with each other than helping customers, making it sometimes impossible to get service at the photo center. The pharmacy staff is generally pretty good and on "the ball" about what's going on with my account. The sale items are at the end of the first makeup aisle; sometimes there are some really good deals. read more

I went into Walgreens to pick up a prescription at the Pharmacy counter. I was told it would be 30 minutes. Even though that was rather long I decided to wait and told the employee behind the counter that I would be waiting. Over 1 1/2 hours later, I was only ably to get 2 of the 3 prescriptions ordered. On the other hand, it was interesting to see how the employees kept making up stories as to why it was taking such a long time to fill my prescriptions. I use Walgreens as my pharmacy but I've never had more trouble than at the Newberg location. Every single time I've gone to pick up my prescription they've either lost it, don't have it correct, or make me wait for at least 15 minutes. Young girl in Beauty Department helped me find two lipsticks that were on a closeout. She was fantastic.

My husband and I recently moved from Tigard to Dayton and I have already noticed a big difference between the drugstore in Tigard and the one out here. The people out here are so much more friendly, and we both really appreciate that. Basic customer service goes a long way. I would recommend this place any day. read more
