It's no Dr Brecke anymore. Run for the hills. I called to ask about this new dentist but the front desk just argued and argued. Second reason to never visit this place. THIRD reason, I was ill and ended up in the hospital. I asked a question and he told me to just get up and brush my teeth. If all you have are teeth, fine. If you have other parts of your body, maybe find someone who studied the entire body. read more

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Brecke for about 2 years. U til now we didn't have anything but routine cleanings and a couple small fillings. I realize Dr. Brecke has an attitude of "don't worry it's all fine " going on. People like his laid back demeanor. His office staff and Hygienist are very pleasant. They have the same "come on in!" Attitude. His office is a little outdated but clean. This time I went to him it was for an infection in a previous crown. My face was swollen and I was in extreme pain! They couldn't get me in for awhile (the start of no back up plan for emergencies!) so I contacted a previous dentist and was seen right away and given antibiotics. The prescribing dentist is not someone that I want to go to for routine things because he is always saying I need thousands of dollars in dental procedures that I question. I went back for the pulling of the infected molar. This appointment happen to be the same day that we had a death in the family! I told the receptionist about this when I arrived. Dr. Proceeded to pull my tooth. His assistant was obviously new! She didn't provide the assistance Dr Brecke needed. It was obviously irritating him. I left with no antibiotics, no rinse of any kind and a handout. Over the next few days my tooth started to become infected! I called first thing on a Monday! The receptionist said Dr Brecke had come in that morning "shaky so I sent him home to sleep for a few hours" Apparently there was an emergency in his family that weekend). I was sympathetic because our family was going through a rough patch. I asked what I should do. She said wait for a few hours and they would call back. I waited... called back after 4 hours! The women on the phone said he wasn't there yet. I said "don't you have a back up dentist for emergencies? She answered in a flat voice "well we use ---- but normally we give him a heads up"! I said "I'm going to Urgent care. I went there and was put on a strong antibiotic! When I went back to have it checked after two days of medication, no one mentioned the whole ordeal! Dr. Brecke looked uninterested and said it would heal. He told me to "just quit taking the antibiotics when it starts feeling better! At this point my mouth was super sore and raw but starting to heal! He gave me no numbing rinse or anything for pain. The last straw was when he just walked away from me to the front of the office. He handed my chart (who doesn't use computer charting?) and said to the receptionist "well we will probably never see her again but if she has any further problems she can call"! Very unprofessional! No attention given for pain or infection! The kicker is I have had a total knee replacement last year! A bone infection would be horrible in my case! I will look for a new dentist! One that doesn't want to do everything he can think of but also is on the ball for the basics of my dental health! read more

What's to say? We have had all kinds of emergencies and were gently told what it would cost and they have always worked out a payment plan. Nothing could be more reassuring than knowing that you won't be humiliated when your mouth is desperately in need of help! read more

When sombody comes to you for help and you send them away in more pain than humanly imaginable, with no recourse for pain nor showing any signs of empathy what so ever is bad enough you would think, but this guy doubled down and walked away leaving me with his incompetence and lack of experience and skill in his craft by total missing a whole canal. Then I attempted to have him finish and he put a note in my file to refuse service. Which buy the way turned out to be the best experience ever..(Hey Doc, 30+% of these teeth have 2 Canals. Google It! Better yet, maby try a little harder next time and try to be nice, saying pain pills don't help with pain was the dumbest thing I have heard in a long time. To all of you out there reading this, this guy is a class act, he is young and very green but if he could see past himself and become part of the human race he might make a good Dentist someday. I'm not done, nobody does that much to another and walks away unscaved. Bitterness is best in moderation over time. This is a social media world we live in and things like this will influence other people's decisions by providing first hand experiences holding you accountable and hopefully help you become a better you! For all of you whom inspire to disregard the feeling and we'll being of others, this is your guy, but for those whom seek relief and a safe place better look elsewhare. Sociopathic? I think so. Have had thousands of dollars of work done at this office and am now paying the price again at another dentist because of how poorly it was done. Seriously my new dentist was silently trying to keep it to himself how badly some fillings were done and assured me nothing I could've done would have caused the decay now forming around the fillings done two years ago. On top of that the color matching was done badly so I'm excited to get that fixed in the near future with somebody else. read more

This was an AMAZING experience! I am a student at George Fox University and so I am away from home where my normal dentist is. I missed my summer dental check up but when I got to school I started having severe tooth pain so I called my insurance (Delta Dental) to find someone close in my network. Dr. Brecke's office was so close so I called and the receptionist was so kind and understanding of my situation. She told me that they were booked solid for 3 months but if I got down there right away they would squeeze me in inbetween their scheduled patients AND THATS EXACTLY WHAT THEY DID! Within an hour, I called, got an appointment, got an evaluation, and had a major cavity filled! I was SO impressed and touched by the treatment I recieved at this clinic. The doctor was kind, informative, caring, and gave me his honest medical opinion! LOVE THIS PLACE! read more

This dentist took over the practice of another dentist in the 1990's. I was a patient of the former dentist, and unfortunately stayed on when this dentist came. i had some slight discoloration on my front teeth, and he talked me into getting veneers, somehow convincing me it was necessary and that insurance would cover it. I believe since he was new to practice that he saw me as a likely victim to practice on. Unfortunately, I let my goodwill from the former dentist carry over and I naively trusted him and went ahead with it. Turns out insurance did NOT cover it because, of course, it was unnecessary, but he had already done the work by the time I learned about the insurance. I refused to pay, as there were more problems than just the insurance not paying. I don't remember the details, but I remember a lot of pain, it somehow affected the shape of my nose, and my teeth were bigger. It took me a long time to trust ANY dentist again. Now, 25 years later when I have lousy dental insurance, because I am retired, the veneers are failing. Not sure yet what I am going to do. Perhaps this dentist has gotten better with practice (although reading the other reviews seems to indicate otherwise), but I doubt his ethics and morals have improved, so I definitely do NOT recommend, read more

Never in my life have I been one to enjoy going to a Dentist....Until I had an emergency and needed a broken tooth fixed. I came to Dr. Brecke a nervous wreck...Dr. Brecke and his staff were so kind and gentle which made my visit so relaxing. With a couple of visits he had me fixed. Now it's a personal treat to myself to come in and get a cleaning. I highly recommend Dr. Brecke and his staff for all your dental needs. 5 stars from me. read more

Dr. Brecke has been our family dentist for well over a decade. You know how sometimes folks who do outstanding work get very little recognition? Must be the case with this professional because he and his entire staff are outstanding in the service they provide. You can be guaranteed of excellent work, being informed of all treatment options and an up front sensitivity to the cost considerations of his work.
