I moved out of state and requested a cancellation. I was a little overdue as I had actually moved in September. I called the Newberg store in the beginning of January and the lady I spoke with said not a problem and to send in an email requesting the cancellation. I emailed twice with no response and called again because I was charged for my monthly payment. I called in and was informed my cancellation was processed, they just failed to respond to me. However, she informed me they would still be charging me for the month even though I live out of state and am not anywhere near a Tan Republic, where I could use the product. They refused to consider a refund and when I emailed to ask for their consideration in a refund, as I am physically unable to use the service, they did not even bother to reply and just sent a pdf of the membership agreement. Super disappointing customer service, especially since I have been a loyal member for the past two years. Update: owner responded with zero effort to remedy the situation and I have asked for a corporate contact. read more

Very unprofessional. The girl barely looked up from doing her makeup to sign me in and say bye. Also 4/12 of the square lamps in the diamond bed were burnt out, so I'm probably going to look plaid later. Seriously take the extra 10 minutes and drive to Sherwood TR to Tan, the new owners seem fantastic which is STRANGE for a Tan republic. I used to tan here also in high school and literally stopped because I consistently would get close to passing out from it being too hot.. that was in 2012. And I just thought I was about to pass out again. Either they don't care about people's health while tanning in extremely cramped rooms with big machines running in them, or they are too cheap to fix the AC... for 5 years. Red flag read more

On September 15th my 15 year old daughter went to get a spray tan like she usually does. The only difference was that I was not with her. When she walked in and gave her name she was told there was not a card to run on her account. She called me at work and I told her to tell the front desk to use the card that was saved on my account. Fast forward to that evening I noticed a charge on my account for almost double what she should have paid. I called the salon repeatedly and got no answer. So I emailed them thinking they were having phone problems. I wanted to clarify that the minor spray tan price did not go up. I didn't get a response so I text the store manager (Cali), She confirmed that the price did not go up and she would look into it. Later she told me, that my account was used for her to tan on because there was no way for them to run a card thru my account. So instead they allowed her to tan on my account but also charged her the adult tanning price. No one explained this to my daughter. The manager said they couldn't do refunds but she would put a free one on her account. I was fine with this. The next day the owner responded to my email and quoted me minor spray tan at an even higher amount. I didn't even respond because I knew that was incorrect and felt the manger had handled my situation and we were good to go. On November 9 my daughter and I went in again to both spray tan. Only to find out that the tan had not been added to her account. No questions asked the girl working allowed her to tan as we frequent this location. Unfortunately for us the spray tan machine was having some issues and we both ended up blotchy. We were going out of town the next day so we couldn't go back in to get another tan and hopefully even it out and we know that you have to report issues with the spray tan within 24 hours. The owner said she would put a courtesy tan on both of our accounts. Again, I felt this was a fair solution and moved on. I then get another email from her stating that only one courtesy tan can be added in a 30 day period. I tried explaining the situation to her about how the last tan for my daughter was not technically a courtesy tan but because we were basically charged double for a minor spray tan. I tried numerous times to explain to her how this happened and she was very defensive. She stated my daughter lied, and misrepresented herself and what she did was fraudulent and was terms for canceling our memberships. I provided screenshots and bank statements to prove this was not the case and she refused to acknowledge any of it. I have a been a year round customer for 7 years. After seeing their ads promoting balance forgiveness to get customers to return, I was appalled that she would accuse my daughter of something like that. Also, refuse to uphold the offer the manager had given us. My daughter would never misrepresent herself. She stood to gain nothing by stating she was me other than paying double what she should have as a minor. To say the customer service skills are lacking by the owner is an understatement. Name calling and accusing paying customers of doing things they clearly didn't do, is absolutely unacceptable. read more

Been coming here for years... keep hoping it's going to get better. It doesn't. Recently went through (another) new management change, and they promised the same things. Better service, better beds, less attitude from the "GM". Not the case.... the beds don't work half the time, they shut off in the middle of tanning, bulbs are burnt out or the beds don't turn on at all, and they make change rooms to try another bed in hopes that that one works! Ugh! The manager offers zero apologies for poor quality beds, she just kept repeating herself "well it's a tanning salon what do you expect?" I expect sh*t to work!!! the manager, or so she boasted, of this location and another one, (god help those poor customers) makes you feel like she's doing you a favor, or you're putting her out, anytime you ask for something or ask a question. Come on tan republic, I know it's only a tanning salon, as your manager stated, but you can do better than this! The only good thing about this place is the other 2 girls that work there...They are amazing and keep me coming back! Promote one of them please!!! read more

Newberg tan republic used to have a fantastic staff! I was really happy with how personable and knowledgeable they were. Once new staff was hired on and/or transferred from a different location I was extremely disappointed. They were giving out my personal information to other customers as well as there's to me. I didn't even have to ask. People knew where I was without me even telling them. Im a 23 year old female not a 16 year old student. This was a HUGE invasion of my privacy. I was also grossed out by the fact that there was hair in my bed before I even used it. The beds weren't cleaned properly. Anyone could tell from the greasy feel on the glass. Another HUGE factor for me. Unfortunately for them, they lost a loyal customer over this, and I'm sad to say that I wouldn't recommend them. read more

Cute tanning salon with GREAT prices!! Wouldn't go anywhere else. The girls that work there are always so helpful and knowledgeable about their lotions. Would recommend stopping in and looking at their membership options, they are easy to sign up and will save you some money in the long run. 5 star rating! read more

The beds are hard to use and not good, and the AC in the rooms/in the beds was never on

Recently moved to Newberg and started tanning here. They had an awesome special for a ten tan package, so I signed up. Staff is always friendly, but often times on their phones which is understandable for such a slow place of work. However I would expect the salon to be MUCH cleaner since they're slow. Behind the beds there is trash and dust that has accumulated over several months. Also the carpets in each room don't look that clean either. Never had any problem with bed cleanliness though. read more

DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS They trick you into signing extremely expensive contracts and they are almost impossible to get out of. Not to mention if you have any questions or concerns they are impossible to get a hold of over the phone and when you go in they dodge all your questions and try and get you to pay even more money. You will think you know what you signed up for and then get a huge monthly bill! Not worth the price and their customer service is awful. They don't offer any refunds!! So if you're unhappy, they couldn't care less. read more
