Definitely a zero-star experience. Have not experienced such horrible service-ever. Staff are extremely RUDE, toxic, and would never survive in a real job outside of Walgreens. They pretend to be "Managers", so the real manager never gets the real story about the customer experience. I have never had issues with any pharmacy like I've had with this one. Just got notified that once again, they are "unable" to get my doctor's office to renew my prescription. Interesting thing about this, it never happened until about a year ago but has happened literally every time I needed a prescription renewed since then. This is in addition to once giving me 30 day supplies for 90 day prescriptions as well as 90 supplies for 30 day prescriptions. Also refused to increase a prescription for me even after my doctor's office called them at least three times confirming the prescription had been increased. Any time I try to address these issues with the staff at the store or on their "help" (A.K.A. no help whatsoever) line I meet with nothing but denial and annoyance. My next "review" is going to the Walgreens national headquarters and the California state pharmacy board. For others, just be forewarned; The place is a BAD JOKE. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. This "G St Walgreens" Pharmacy and their Pharmacists are absolutely horrible. They refuse to dispense certain prescriptions written by Doctors. They tell you that the Doctor needs to tell them "why" they prescribed your medicine. What? A Doctor is licensed, who are you trying to be? Patients can receive an alert that your medicine is ready at Walgreens and arrive and get the treatment I just mentioned. This Pharmacy and their Professionalism is lacking and absolutely absurd! Doctors are licensed to prescribe prescriptions and Pharmacists should not be holding your prescription hostage. My Doc offices are always at a loss at how this Walgreens operates. They debate with you, they sometimes bully you, the speak loudly so everyone else in line can hear your business and isn't HIPAA a factor? On good days, the Pharmacist will dispense without issues. But, whoa, when they have a bone to pick, good luck. It's awful. You Pharmacists need to do your job and act according to the law and dispense prescriptions that are written by Doctors. Your Pharmacy holds prescriptions hostage and make patients jump through hoops to get medicine that helps cure or aid their ailments. Usually, we have to ask our Prescribing Doctors to call you so they can help with this fight. Your store needs to be audited so the DOI or DOJ can learn how you all operate and treat patients terribly. I wonder how you all can sleep at night after being so rude to patients that try to innocently pick up prescriptions? Shame on you all. The pharmacist at Walgreen's Pharmacy on G Street in Merced is a HORRIBLE woman. She refused to give me my pain medication after I had a 12 hour back surgery at UCSF. I have only been home 3 weeks and first she lied and said that my insurance wouldn't cover my pain med so I called the insurance and they said I could have 72 so the insurance called the pharmacy. The pharmacist said they could give 72 and when I agreed the insurance lady went back on line with the pharmacist and said I agreed, then the pharmacist said they only have 60 pills, the insurance lady came back on the phone with me and told me that now they are saying they only have 60, I agreed to take that amount because I couldn't be without pain meds. Then the insurance lady told the pharmacist that I would take the 60 pills. That ridiculous pharmacist said "Oh we only have 40 pills. So I said I would take the 40. Finally that clown pharmacist said she would fill the prescription. The next week my doctor sent in a prescription for the pain meds and she said there aren't any in stock. So my doctor changed the pain med to a different pain med. That incompetent pharmacist wouldn't fill my prescription until she spoke to my doctor. It took all day long, I didn't get my prescription until 5:30pm and because I was out of pain meds my blood pressure went up to 220/110 I told that damn Walgreens if anything happens to me like a stroke they will be in a lot of trouble. So the idiot Pharmacist called me and asked me why I was given a different pain med? I said, "Because you said you don't have the med I take!" She said, "Oh" Why is the amount different and why so many pills?" I Said, "I told you I had a 12 hour back surgery and I am in excruciating pain and my blood pressure is 220/110. She said I called your doctor but I can't get ahold of her. I told that idiot, "You can't call UCSF and get through." She evidently doesn't ever deal with BIG reputable hospitals like UCSF. I had to go on MyChart and tell the doctor's office that the pharmacist won't release my meds until she talks to the doctor. My doctor called but that idiot pharmacist had gone to lunch. The pharmacist called me at 3:30 and said she would fill my prescription that she had spoken to my doctor and the reason she prescribed 5mg rather than 10mg is that she wants me to be able to cut back if I am able. I said, "I already know that, my doctor told me that!!!" What a moron, like my doctor would prescribe something without telling me what and why!!!!! That Indian woman pharmacist that says she is the manager of the pharmacy should be fired!! I am going above her and above Walgreens complaint department to see if something can be done. Her actions caused me harm and she does NOT have the right to hold a persons pain meds or any other meds. It is against the law to arbitrarily hold a persons meds causing my blood pressure to rise to dangerous heights. I could have stroked out. I hate Merced this is how people in this town always behave. Nice staff but the most poorly organized pharmacy I've ever visited. Not sure what the point of a vaccine booking system is when there is no separate vaccine checkin line. I showed up 15min early for my vaccine appointment as instructed and had to wait in a 45min line with everyone picking up their prescriptions, so appointment ended up being 30 min late. Definitely go elsewhere if you need a vaccine or don't want to wait in a ridiculous line for your medications. read more

Purchased a bottle of Robitussin cough medicine from this Walgreens, then a day later found out that it gave me major gas and bloating side-effects, and I mean MAJOR. I went back to the store to return it, but was refused. The manager on duty said the item was not a Walgreens product, and not "100% satisfaction guaranteed", so it could not be returned. Be careful folks. If you buy anything not Walgreens branded from here, do not expect that it can be returned. I won't be shopping here again. I've never had any problems at any pharmacy until I came here. Literally the WORST. The pharmacist told us 2 days ago that the prescription was going to be ready after 5pm that day. We went today (48 hours later) and the pharmacist said to come back in an hour. My uncle is in a wheelchair so it's extremely difficult to get him in and out of the car, NOT TO MENTION HE IS IN PAIN DUE TO A MAJOR ACCIDENT! We went back 2 hours later and they gave us a totally different prescription and we didn't realize it until we got to his house. I had to go back there to try to figure out what was going on because I wasn't getting any answers over the phone. I ended up getting the hand written prescription back and go to a different pharmacy! I won't be back to any Walgreens ever again! Not even for OTC medicine. read more

Have been struggling to find a good pharmacy in Merced since moving here 7 months ago. Walgreens has been fairly average on service and better than others on the corner of Olive and G. Today they earned the one star. Automated phone system called saying order ready for pick up. Drove across town to pick up only to find clerk will not release meds until pharmacist is back from lunch in 45 minutes!!!! Have never encountered any BS policy like this anywhere. They already check photo, address, and birth ids. Says it's a state law. Going to look into that and contact state lawmakers if true. In meantime, Store should have over lapping staff. The drive up window staff are so rude, purposely talk low through the intercom and get snappy when you ask them to speak louder....poor people that have medi-cal are treated like crap as if it's coming from their paycheck. They use the same excuse "the system is down" so then they make you pay for a prescription that's normally covered then advise to come back for a refund, which is a pain in the butt doing. Every now and then they offer the discount during the time the "systems are down". There is one older lady with glasses whom I wish they would just fire she's grumpy, unprofessional, uncaring and just flat out mean! Next time I'll get her name and update. My daughter was having an allergic reaction and urgent care sent over some allergy medication. It was not processed in time before closing so I had to wait till the next day. By this time her reaction had become worse and 24 hours later, one medication was denied by my insurance and another was still processing. I had never had an issue with my insurance or prescriptions before and all of a sudden they could not run or find my insurance information. At that point I was willing to pay full price without insurance but they still could not give me her medication. I was told to wait another 20 min. 20 min later they could not find my daughter In their system and had no prescriptions for her. I then had no choice but to rush her to the ER. Thank God she did not go into anaphylactic shock. 4 hours later I checked if they are ready and guess what.. Avoid! They will stall, make it such a hassle in filling prescriptions, they do not accept barely any medical insurances, and they will intentionally not help you in what you need. I came to return an Easter basket I bought but never used because my son already had one at home that he didn't even play with so I chose to return it. I have the receipt and everything. I go in and ask and the manager says that I can't return it because it's seasonal. Even though they still have plenty of baskets in there for sell. My point is, I'm a customer, I have my receipt, and the basket isn't opened. Then why can't I return it?? The receipt says within 30 days no where does it say that you can't return seasonal merchandise. They should really put signs up for things that can't be returned or they should really tell the customers when they buy it. read more
