I want to give this place one star, but they were able to fill a prescription that my normal (Cvs inside target in Atwater) pharmacy couldn't that's why they got the extra star. My daughter had surgery and I had to go get her script. I've never been in that area of Merced, so it was definitly a little daunting, but the buildings around the pharmacy were newer and nicer and well kept so that was nice. The pharmacy has bars over every door and window. Which may be because of the neighborhood there may be a lot of break in's? But to me it wasn't very welcoming. Inside the building it's very small, there are 4 chairs for waiting, and you are literally surrounded by candy and soda for sale. At the time I arrived, there was 4 employees that I could see and three of them stared at me but said nothing. I mean working in customer service one of the first things they teach you is to greet the customer as soon as possible and acknowledge their existence, it's not only good customer service, but also prevents thefts by letting that person know they have been seen, but whatever I smiled at them and they turned away. So the fourth came down from the filling area and was fairly curt. Asking for my name. I told her and she started looking through their filled prescriptions which are just sitting on a shelf not in any order that I could tell, with the paperwork rubber banded to the bottle. She came back scanned the code and told me the price along with the order to sign the screen, it seemed high, so I asked if that was the price with our insurance. And asked her where to sign because the screen just said yes or no. That's when she got all frustrated. And seemed extremely put out, said she had no idea and would have to check, grabbed the medicine and put it back on the shelf. Never saying you can sit down and wait, nothing. So I sat down waited. Another customer came in the small area and looked like she was going to vomit, not really unexpected since it's a pharmacy, I was just like crap there's no where for me to go if she does vomit. The lady who barely looked at me and didn't like me asking questions knew the lady and was extremely friendly to her. That lady sat down and another man walked in, he stood there for about 5 mins before the pharmacy lady called the other lady customer to pick up her meds. While she was paying I felt someone looking at me so I looked up and the guy that came in was staring daggers at me like I'd just killed his cat, I just smiled and went back to minding my own business. Then she called me, which insurance had not been run and by questioning it I saved my self over $20. She still was very unfriendly and kind of had an attitude. I left and at the time I left no one had acknowledged the man who had been standing there the whole time. So no I do not recommend this pharmacy, and even if my normal pharmacy can't fill something ill look anywhere else but here. It was just an all around uncomfortable experience. Not sure what I did to that lady, but based in other reviews maybe this is just a tight knit neighborhood pharmacy that don't like outsiders because other than me everyone else loves this place. read more
