I'm sorry to see unhappy reviews for this Walgreens. I have been a customer for years and they are consistently helpful, courteous and efficient at this location, for both check out lanes and pharmacy. I've noticed the staff call for help, up front, if there are more than three people in line. My only concern is the pharmacy drive through lanes are often closed down or not in working condition so going inside for RX can sometimes be a long wait, especially if you are going here for a flu, COVID, or Shingles immunization. I always find what I need and more. Some good deals in cosmetics and travel sized items, if you have time to look. read more

I have been an unhappy Walgreens shopper for years. Their pharmacy is convenient and there are plenty of Walgreens around. This is not my usual Walgreens - we went here for updated vaccines and were pleasantly surprised by a few things. First, this store is large, well laid out, and was neat and clean. The aisles seemed wider than other Walgreens. Second, we were greeted when we came in by the cashier. In fact, there were three cashiers working and there was not a long line with people waiting to check out. When we went back to the pharmacy, we were once again greeted kindly. We explained why we were there, and we were about ten minutes early, but they took us right away. The person who was giving vaccines was a pharmacy student who did such a good job, neither of us felt anything. I need to say this isn't like the experiences I have had with my usual Walgreens. While this one is further from my home, I think when I need something, I'll be going here. This should be a model for other Walgreens. read more

Staff are very unprofessional. I was asking for prescription availability and they cannot tell because they don't know the dosage which they can simply lookup since there are only 2 dosages for it. As I was explaining that I needed to transfer a prescription, her tone became aggressive and hung up the phone. I called again and she simply picked up the phone and hung up. I called again and then she passed the phone to a different person who tried to defend her behavior. Apparently, I was told that I was talking to the pharmacy manager. Unfortunately I have to agree with all of the other reviews about the pharmacy being a hot mess. The woman in the other lane was literally given the wrong person's prescription. And then they told me I didn't have a pickup ready even though I just got a reminder text earlier in the day. Somehow when I pulled open the text on my phone they found it. Every Walgreens store I have visited lately has the same response when I tell them that I want to add funds to my Paypal Account without an actual card. Their response is usually "I don't think we are able to load your account without an actual PP card but we can try" OR "Let me find a manager who can help you" They are ALWAYS able to figure out how to load the money on my account even if it takes a little longer than it should and always with a smile. (the PP will generate a code when you choose what store you want to load money at which the cashier is then able to scan and then load your cash into your account) The cashier at this particular store immediately said "we can't do that here, you need an actual card" I then proceeded to explain I'm used to this response and assured her that my request is definitely possible. She then looked to the person next to her (I'm not sure if this was a manager of another cashier) and they both said "other Walgreens stores may be able to do it but we don't do that here" I went to the next closest Walgreens store and after the initial "I don't know if we can do that" look, the cashier was able to help me with a smile and a thank you! I personally think that all Walgreens stores could use a training on how to process the different services they provide such as adding money in to a Paypal account without an Actual card, but this store needs training in basic costumer care. I usually love getting my photos printed here but my last purchase was disappointing. I printed a photo of two of my guy friends touching feet and instead of cropping out the horizon (we were on a boat) they cropped out the weird feet touching. I was out of town and needed an emergency medicine on the go. The girl working the Pharmacy left me out in the cold. They had an error on there part and blamed it on the doctor. Instead of calling me that they needed a response from the doctor they told me once I was already at the Pharmacy..what a joke. Girl in the front with blonde hair and brown eyebrows is the worst in customer service that I have ever seen. She basically left me in the cold with no feeling of support or help. I normally use CVS and they happened to be out of this medicine so this is the only reason I used Walgreens. The CVS was able to complete the order from the doctor with no issues. Spent over half an hour in drive up line picking up a prescription only to be treated very rudely by Molly. Helped customers in other lane that arrived after me. Even though there were 6 cars waiting, Molly found it necessary to be chatty with the 2 cars in front of me. This pharmacy has gone very downhill. When it comes to store cleanliness and cashier friendliness, this Walgreens location is superb. However, my review pertains to the pharmacy department and the service I have experienced there on numerous occasions. I have never, ever, EVER received my prescriptions on time from this pharmacy. On my most recent visit, my doctor had called in the prescription while I was at the office (she did it right in front of me). However, when I arrived at the pharmacy 40 minutes later, I was told they had received the phone call only a minute ago and my prescription would take about 5 minutes to fill. Their parking lot was pretty empty and no one else was in the drive-thru line, so this seemed reasonable. About 15 minutes later, I pulled back up to the drive-thru and was greeted by a different employee. She stated that they were working on the prescription, that it was just called in a minute ago and that she would need about 10 minutes to fill it. I decided to just leave and go back another time, because I had already waited 55 minutes and did not want to continue to hear false statements about timing and I didn't want to continue pulling around to the drive-thru window every 10 minutes. Like I said, this is the most recent occurrence. The problem has taken place nearly 6 times and I have officially decided to go elsewhere for my prescriptions. It is really unfortunate that the store itself seems to run efficiently, but the area where people really need quality, efficient service to ensure their health, it is not provided. read more

What...?! I decided to stop in to the Walgreens at this location because it's on our way to... last minute shopping! Simply stated, this is like no other place I have ever been to in this area; there are a lot of Walgreens in my town. Unfortunately, this location sold out of the As Seen on TV item I wanted to buy so we were in and out of here sooner than I would've liked. But, time is of the essence right now and there's no time for distractions. I am leaving here very curious to explore the store. I primarily use this Walgreens to pick up prescription medications, but I have also done some light shopping there for the few times I wasn't in a hurry or needed something else. I frequently use the drive-thru service to drop off and pick up meds. Mostly, everything goes fine. There is one pharmacist I don't care for, though. I hate to complain, but if there are other cars at the drive-thru, and you're discussing medications, names, address, phone numbers, and birth dates, I think it's better NOT to repeat what you hear from a customer and announce those details to the world through the loudspeaker. She has done this. I'm not sure why. I would appreciate more discretion at the pharmacy. That said, the other pharmacists are professional and courteous. read more

My husband went to pick up a prescription. He had to wait over 2 hours with no updates. (On a Thursday night at 7:45). When I called customer service I was thrown into a general call center who could not answer why it was not being filled. I waited on hold for over 15 minutes until someone answered answered this location. They had no real reason for why the medication was not filled, but answered tell of a sudden, could do it in 15 minutes. I'm very dissapointed in their service as well as ability to maintain proper customer service. I will be using another pharmacy from now on. I do not recommend going here. Stay away! This Walgreens is clean and never too busy, even though it's at the crossroads of Roselle and Higgins. It's a difficult one to get into because the entrance is only on Higgins and you have to be traveling west on Higgins in order to get in. The staff is very helpful, always offering to help find things. I've never tried to pharmacy here but I bet they are good. They also honor all Walgreen's deals in the weekly ads with ease. Unlike the other Walgreens in Hoffman estates on golf road and Barrington road this Walgreens is a pleasant experience both the pharmacy and the actual store. Pharmacy staff is actually helpful and pleasant and try to work in a timely manor they get very busy but they can't help that but they actually keep their customer service skills at a high level when busy and short staffed which is MUCH MORE than I can say for the other Walgreens whose customer service is subpar even when fully staffed and slow. I've only ever seen someone lose their cool when being yelled at by a customer. Literally yelled at. And no one should have to take that. The store staff is nice and greets me when I walk in always with a smile and my favorite lady to be rung out by is miss Melody! Give melody a raise!!! She is fabulous and always pleasant and helpful! This is the slowest Walgreens we have ever been to. It takes 20-30 minutes to get to the drive up window or counter. It will take a few hours for them to fill a prescription no matter the day, time, or need for the medication. read more

Came to Walgreens cause my newborn baby needed formula and I using WIC Assitance. I waited in line for the cashier and when I got there I was told to go to Photos to do my transaction but what was confusing another employee said just call it in so I get help there. Nope the guy wasn't having it and made me go to a "special" line for my transaction. This is the type of treatment you will receive if you bring WIC Assitance with you. DO NOT COME HERE. They won't treat you with respect as a living breathing person. It was so embarrassing. I wanted to pass along a wonderful experience I've had with a particular beauty consultant, Sukaina Hussain. I've met with her on two separate occasions and both times were wonderful. She works in the beauty department and truly did help make me feel beautiful and valued, not just as a customer but as a person. I came in looking to buy just a simple cover up and she introduced me to a new product, however was not at all pushy like most sales people. She was honest with what she thought may be a good fit for me, and even what she thought wasn't. I ended up purchasing more than what I came in for, but not because I felt pressured! She then told me about an event taking place the following week on a Saturday but said if I couldn't make it that day, to come in the day before and she would honor the promotion (and provide the goodie bag). I can honestly say that I've never had a poor experience at this location, and I come here a lot, but knowing Sukaina works here I will certainly continue coming to this store. Unprofessional and rude: This review is for the Walgreens Pharmacy at Golf (58) and Higgins(72) in Hoffman Estates. My original prescription was at a Walgreens in Palatine, a location near my son whom had been picking up my insulin. When it became more expedient for me to pick up the prescription myself, I called the Walgreens at the Golf and Higgins location to have the prescription transferred there. I was told, "no problem", they would retrieve the prescription and drug and have it available for my pick up in Hoffman Estates. I called Palatine to ensure they had received the needed doctor's authorization and was told to call the Hoffman Estates. I called the Hoffman Estates and was told they were out of stock, and if I needed the drug at this time, I would have to call various Walgreens to find one who happened to have it in stock. I had to do the search, they would not. I next asked for the number of another nearby Walgreens (Higgins and Barrington Roads) and the reply was a "hang up". If my prescription is not filled today, I'll have no insulin for the weekend, and that is not good. Rather than them using their shared system to locate and obtain the needed drug, they had me do the work that I believe was theirs to do. Very unprofessional and zero customer service! The pits! Review continuation: It is now after 4p in the afternoon and I've been calling Walgreens's since 9A to get accurate information. Calling the Barrington Rd pharmacy to confirm med is ready, told No it is not because the Roselle Rd pharmacy filled the prescription. Return to calling the Roselle Rd (which did not have the drug this morning) and a more alert employee said she found the drug and the order is ready. What a circus! After a morning of calling doctors, pharmacies, and insurance, multiple times being put on hold and disconnected, I am tired and pissed. I checked yelp on the CVS located between these 2 Walgreens and the reviews were also awful. Never had a problem when using Sam's club, but they are now gone. read more
