They in the past have been super slow answering the phone and filling Rxs. Today it was filled in just about two hours so much better except for the 15 minute wait while they figured out how to enter the instance card into the system. Seriously this is what you do all day and you takes 15 minutes and two separate people to get it to work? No wonder things are always so far behind and slow here! This incident left me thinking that other reviewers may have the right idea as to what is happening at this store.

Before placing the order, I checked local store availability and saw that the Wheeling location had 3 boxes in stock. I chose in-store pickup, and my husband picked up the order from the Wheeling store on 7/3/25. Unfortunately, 2 out of the 3 boxes turned out to be expired. Since the Wheeling store only had those 3 boxes at the time of my order, I had no option but to visit another Walgreens to exchange the expired items. I went to the Glenview Walgreens at Pfingsten & Willow. I found 3 unexpired boxes on the shelf and brought 2 to the counter for an even exchange. The manager, Mo, initially said exchanges had to be done at the original store. After I explained the situation, he agreed to sell me 2 new boxes at the same discount and eventually accepted the expired ones for return at Glenview, saving me a frustrating third trip. Both the associate and Mo were polite and handled the situation well, even though the issue wasn't caused by their store. I gave them 5 stars for customer service. That said, Walgreens should do a better job checking expiration dates. There was still a box on the Glenview shelf expiring 7/31/25. Just a heads-up to check dates before buying!

Huh? It's for my sick wife. Are you telling me not to buy the prescription for a sick person? Stunned, I asked her if it went through insurance and she said no. So I tried giving her my insurance card and she said I needed a different one for pharmacy. I wasn't aware of this but this was my fault I told her I would come back and I pulled over to call my insurance and they get me to the pharmacy coverage rep. I pull back into the drive-up and the rep said it's probably better just to give my phone to the pharmacy to provide the info they need which when I suggest this to the pharmacist, she gives me the biggest sigh and rolls her eyes at me. But reluctantly took it and spoke with the rep. After getting off the phone, she tells me I need to go to the back of the line. No explanation just go to the back. What? The rep on the phone says, she needs to run it through the system so it could take a few minutes. Ok that makes sense. Just would've been nice to be told that by the pharmacist instead of just go back to the end of the line. There's only a couple cars in line and not a big deal. By the time I get to the window, I give her my card to pay and she's obviously pissed at me (huh? This is all part of your job), takes payment, gives me my prescription without saying a word and off I go. Her attitude just sucked the whole time. I get that you feel like you're busy and you're in a bad attitude cuz you hate your job. I get it. You know what's worse? Trying to keep 3 kids under 8 quiet and behaved in the car for almost an hour waiting to get a prescription for your sick wife.

I noticed that this is the only Walgreens that has the Photo department (where you do pickups) connecting right to the general checkout counter. The woman at Photo was not particularly welcoming, she kind of complained that I clicked "I am here" on the app that instructed me to do so. She said once I clicked that, the clock would start timing her, she said I only needed to click that if I waited in my car by the sidewalk. I didn't see why it's a problem that I was already inside the store, and she didn't need to go outside. The chocolate was pre-bagged, she gave that to the cashier who scanned it. As I had already paid online, it was quick. I didn't spend too much time inside this store, but it looked smaller than the other Walgreens stores that I had been to. It's not as bright and looked quite dated. However, I was happy that they had this chocolate that's my sister's favorite at a discounted price, and the pickup was quick and smooth.

I didn't realize they only gave me 2/3 of what was prescribed, costing me a whole useless trip downtown, along with the whole joy of rescheduling. They could do much better. This is a high traffic location, and my guess is that it is very understaffed.

Here is what happened: Jacob says hello, and I say hello back and he immediately starts ringing up my items. This interaction occurred while he was scanning and bagging the items. Me: "Hello, I need to buy these using tax exempt status please." Jacob: "We don't do that here." Me: "Tax exemption? ... yes, you do." Jacob: "NO, we don't. I've never heard of that." Me: "Ok, let me speak to the manager please." Jacob: "I am the manager." Me: "Then you should know how to do tax exemption." *Jacob has finished ringing me up, and goes to the payment screen, tells me the total and I respond, "did you take the tax off?" He swings the screen and points that there is no option for him to do that and says: "That sounds like an IRS PROBLEM for you." Me: "I'm sorry? You mean for the NPO I work for that does hundreds of thousands of dollars of transactions per year? That it would be an IRS issue FOR US because YOU don't know how to do it?" Jacob: "I've never done it before." Me: "So because you've never done it before, means it doesn't happen? Ok. Cool. Just ring me up, I'll deal with it on my end." Jacob: "I'm sorry but it's NOT something we do." Me, exhausted and still doing my job at 6pm on Friday night, working since 7am, experiencing the worst customer service I've had in years: Me: "No, it's that YOU don't know how to do it." I pay for my items using my NPO card. I will now have to go through many hoops to fix his ignorance. I also had some personal items to buy, so I used self-check out as I can just use my own debit card. Jacob is on the phone, sees me and waves me over. I go back to his POS, and he doesn't say a word to me, but speaks to the person on the phone, but I didn't know if he was talking to me or the person on the phone, so I say, "Are you speaking to me?" Jacob, points to the phone and looks at me like I am interrupting HIM. I walk away because I am a middle-aged white woman and I tend to only "Karen" out to protect other people, but this guy is pushing it. I go back to self-checkout, and buy my *personal* non-tax exempt purchases, because I know how to do my job. Jacob, from the counter, about 15 feet away: "HEY! I am on the phone, I called and they told me how to do it!" I'm exhausted and I can't. Me: "GREAT. I'm so glad you are learning your job on my time. Glad you are doing it now, please don't treat the next person the way you treated me, JACOB." I wanted him to know I knew his name, and yes, I e-mailed corporate. I do not want Jacob to be reprimanded for his ignorance. I would like to know that when a customer approaches him and the rest of the staff with something they are not familiar with, to not treat the customer like a complete idiot. I worked (and still do, essentially) in client services, so I know how it is to work with the public/clients. I just hope that the managers and the associates at CVS stores learn how to do tax exempt, and not treat customers in this manner. I am giving one star to get this noticed, but I also want to add that the pharmacy techs at this location are so kind and very fast. They do their job incredibly well. Also, any associate I've interacted with on the floor is also very nice and everyone is always working to make the store look and feel welcoming.
