I'd received my paperwork for drug screening and decided to stop by this Howell Branch location early Monday morning and left completely satisfied with the overall experience. No appointment required, though the option to schedule online is available. Check-in is done via kiosk and using your driver's license. Fill in some basic info and, like magic, a technician pops out of a room and you're on your way to the loo, Boo. The team here is no-nonsense, professional, and efficient. If I was there for more than 15 minutes, I'd be surprised. So glad such a weird, but legally required, process was handled by professionals. Outside the ladies room, that is.

I left my apt, right across the street to pick up some food because I'm coming down with the flu & don't feel good enough to cook. I saw the CVS & realized I should get some cough syrup. Problem is, evidently you need an ID to buy certain types of cough syrup and I left mine at home. Since ID is only needed for certain types of cough syrup I told the clerk to just tell me what I DONT need an ID for & I'll buy that rather than going home and coming back. She played dumb the first 2 times I asked & then said she would call the manager to ask. She called him over the loud speaker before saying "oh he's on break. Or maybe he left." At this point I'm sweating & feel like I'm going to pass out. I'm irritated but I hear her accent and realize if she sells the wrong brand to me without checking ID that maybe she'll lose her work visa. So I googled it myself & went to pick up some off brand cough suppressant even though I need a fever reducer. I see a nice looking guy walking around & ask him to buy it for me. So this guy checks out before me and the clerk starts yelling at him "ARE YOU BUYING THIS FOR HER?" She repeats it a few times before following with "IF YOU BUY THIS FOR HER IM CALLING THE POLICE". We both ignored her, bought what we needed and left. The worst part of this is that I very obviously looked sick, and I'm over 21 with multiple tattoos & piercings.

Anywho, CVS was one of the only places open on Thanksgiving and they're close to my house. When I went into the store, it was brightly lit and well-organized with holiday sale items already highlighted on the end caps. I was the only customer (that I could see), so it was pretty peaceful. The store was clean and aisles were clearly labeled so that I could easily grab my precious treats. Upon checkout, I was greeted by a cheerful cashier, who truly seemed happy to help me. This put me in a better mood and I was truly Thankful to interact with such a pleasant person before crawling back into bed surrounded by tissues, my food finds and my needy, fat cat. Also, I scored some great coupons after swiping my CVS (free) rewards card, so it was a really good visit. Thank you, CVS!

Today I decided to reschedule to any earlier time so I looked, found a more convenient time slot and easily rescheduled it. I drove up, sat down and since I had completed all the consent forms, it was soon time for the shot. The pharmacist took me into a small discreet room which is right next to the pharmacy area, prepped my arm and the first dose was injected. Yay! I am happy this Walgreens is close to home and available to help me out whenever things like this come up.

When I mentioned I had a Nespresso package to the worker behind the counter, they seemed unsure about what they were looking for and appeared a bit lagging in their efforts. This significantly slowed down the process, making what should have been a quick pickup take much longer than expected. While I appreciate the convenience of being able to pick up packages at Walgreens, the lack of efficiency in this instance was disappointing.
