This is probably the worst pharmacy for prescription "service" I've ever had the misfortune to select for pharmacy "services."
I have yet to see anyone at all be greeted with a smile. And I mean anyone.
That should have raised a red flag over a year ago.
However, nothing is like it was even ten years ago: so, I thought I was being overly sensitive.
Over the past year and several visits for prescription and non-prescriptions I have had the following unacceptable staff and customer interactions:
1. I am motor handicapped....both of my knees and both of my arms have severe rheumatoid arthritis. I broke every one of my fingers twice, and I have broken every one of my toes twice at least. I was involved in a lot of sports, including five styles of martial arts.
It is challenging for me to walk, much less "stop on a dime."
On many occasions I have been walking slowly when an employee nearly hit me with a cart filled with merchandise to stock.
Ready?
I have yet to have even an "excuse me" from any employee.
2. There have been several pharmacists on duty during the past year as well as the glorified cashiers known as "pharmacy technicians." This is a designation put into law by the state of Florida and I hate it that the state did that to its citizens. I actually heard a "technician" at this location who, after using the incorrect medication caught by the pharmacist, actually laugh and said, "Well, it's your problem since you are responsible."
What was the person thinking? In my humble opinion the "pharmacy technicians" are entitled individuals without any proper education to be "entitled." The state of Florida would do well to ditch that legal status.
The ones at this location are the worst.
I suppose the employee did a few other things as I have not seen that "technician" for over six months.
3. I received a voice mail today that I had a prescription at this location. I tried to call to find out what it was. After six telephone calls and thirty minutes I gave up. I was disconnected each time. Maybe my calls dropped. But I don't think so.
When I went to get the prescription there were two registered pharmacists and two "technicians." There were no telephone calls coming into the pharmacy, and I saw none made by any staff. I did see one person waiting at the drive-through window, three people ahead of me, and the line grew to four people behind me.
During this wait of approximately twenty-five minutes, one of the "technicians," a female, was leaning up against the counter with her right hand on her head. My cell phone has a stop watch feature and I activated it. Once the employee kept the position for four minutes plus. She went and gave an item or two to the person at the drive-through window, then assumed the "hand on cheek, lean against the counter. Re-activation of stop watch function. Time of three minutes and counting when I stopped since I was told I was next. I don't know how long the employee kept leaning against the counter since I forgot to turn off the stopwatch...It read over ten minutes when I remembered it and I had exited the store by that time.
4. I have never, including this visit, had anyone say a nice customer-friendly statement like, "I'm sorry about your long wait." Today was no exception.
5. I once picked up a non-formulary prescription that I knew was going to be expensive. When I got a female pharmacist's eye, and was asked what I needed (not, "Can I help you sir?") I gave my name and the physician's name and stated I had a voice mail that It was ready for pick up.
After several times of being asked my name, the physician's name, and why I saw the physician, the pharmacist finally found the prescription which was in a bin for the pharmacist to verify. Without any apology, the pharmacist merely stated, "This will be ninety dollars." I knew it would be expensive, and questioned if my insurance plan had been properly applied. It was like I had just asked for a detailed chemical synthesis of all active and inactive ingredients (oh, yes...I have chemistry and chemical engineering degrees as well as a professional degree in the field of medicine.) With a roll of eyes, almost a "snort," the pharmacist very condescendingly showed the savings which was just at the bottom of the billing area....or somewhere near it since I use a few different pharmacies. It was not an unreasonable question. The response was unacceptable.
5. With a threat of severe weather in the forecast, I called in a refill at 1:00 PM for a 2:00 PM next day pick up. I arrived at 5:15 PM and was told they were still working on it. The drug has been around for over fifty years. I was livid. The prescription was filled.
Stay away.
I'm changing pharmacies tomorrow.
I do not like to write such negative reviews.
But this location has had over one year to improve.
And it has gotten steadily worse. read more
