This location is located inside JC Penny's on the second floor. It is small, but they had what I came looking for so that was important. There was only one person working but she was very nice, and also helpful. She was checking out another customer but greeted me on my arrival. When that client had left she immediately helped me and knew exactly where what I was looking for was. Checkout was speedy and I was able to save 10% for joining their rewards club. They had sanitization and social distance measures in place. read more

Just had a VERY awkward experience at this Sephora. I'm actually inclined to giving them one star, however I DO want to recognize the friendly cashier and the friendly manager that I was offered too speak to after a very rude employee attempted to have me scolded. Lol! Really, this was so surreal. Also, this is one of the biggest and nicest looking Sephora stores that I have seen. Too bad I don't feel like visiting it again. But first, let me explain... So, I have a product to return and I call to this Sephora store before actually getting there in order to confirm that it's a store, on it's own, and not inside of JCPenny. I confirmed the information and drove to this location. I was excited since I don't know of many Sephora stores that are not within a JCPenny (besides the ones on touristy malls such as Florida Mall and the Millenia Mall. As an excited yelper, I noticed that this store does not have a business page on Yelp. I had to locate it through their website... So as most Yelpers would do, I decided to create a business page for this store. I create it and take my time in front of the store adding the store hours. I feel (or see with my peripheral view) an employee looking at me, but I'm guessing she is eager to provide customer service once I'm in the store. So I go into the store and take a quick picture of the left side of the store... The watchful employee comes speed walking toward me and says, "Excuse me, you can't take pictures of the store. That is not allowed". I was surprised and replied, "Really!? That's odd. I've never been told that at any other sephora stores.". She then says, it's store policy. I explain to her that I'm a Yelper who is just adding their business page to Yelp and she said, with a shrug, "only corporate is allowed to do that". However, she did say I could take pictures of specific products, just not pictures of displays. I was still surprised, but apologized and thanked her for the information. Went to the register, returned my item, cashier was a friendly guy who was nice and completed the transaction quickly. Afterwards I walk toward the perfume section, to check out a perfume I'm interested on, while remembering that I can only take pictures of the product. So I grab my phone and put it in front of the perfume, as closely as I can (since it's on a high shelve) and take a picture. Guess what happened? The watchful employee comes almost sprinting (I exaggerate, but she did speed walk) toward me and raising her voice from across the room saying, "Mam, I told you you cannot take pictures of our displays, do you ned me to call the manager?!!" I wait for her to finish and to arrive to where I am and I said, "I'm sorry, I thought you said I could take pictures of a products... that's what I did. I can show you the picture... " She then proceeded to say that I could take pictures if I had the product on my hand (all while walking away from me) and "asked me" if I needed to talk to the store manager. I say "asked" me because she didn't even wait for me to reply and went to get the store manager as if though I'm this kid who is in trouble and she is telling on me. Store manager arrives, her name is Faith and she verbalizes, "Hello, I was told you asked to speak to me." I let her know that I did not request to speak to her, although I appreciated her taking of her busy scheduled to talk to me. However, since she was there, I explained the situation I was having with the rude employee. She explained the whole policy and seemed dismissive of her inappropriate employee. I showed her the pictures that I had taken and she said they were "ok". She did not apologize for her employee but did say she would talk to her, since I mentioned that it was "beyond me why her employee was so upset, raised her voice and treated me with disrespect". Manager later encouraged me to visit again (not sure about that happening any time soon) and thanked me for my patronage. Embarrassing much? Yes! Unnecessary and uncalled for? TOTALLY. Being a frequent "flyer" at the Sephora on Florida Mall and having always been treated nicely and with respect, I can say I will not visit this store again and would rather travel to Florida Mall or Millenia Mall. read more

I spoke to "manager" Tamara who was of no help and very combative. This "manager" began arguing with me about a simple return which is a very common. She began to raise her voice and roll her eyes when I explained why I was in need of a return/exchange. She then began to belittle me and told me I wasn't using it correctly even though I have used this product for years. I feel that this hostility and shouting was completely uncalled for and because of this I will never shop from this location. I hope someone from Sephora is able to see this and possibly change how this location handles their customers. read more

Small selection inside JCP but small selection is better than zero selection. An associate greeted me, and although consulting with another customer, made sure someone else took care of my special request. Can't beat that! #teamwork #getitdone read more

I've been to several Sephora/JCP locations, most of them decent. I visited this one on a Saturday afternoon, and it was pretty crowded. I was looking for a new lipstick to try, and I had an idea about what I wanted (a purple/red). All of the staff were busy helping customers with makeovers or other questions. I could not find anyone available to help determine the best shade for me, but I had plenty of time to try shades on my own. :-) Sephora usually carries a nice mix of colors and brands, and this store was no exception. Plenty of shades to try, and I found something I liked from the Sephora Collection. The coordinating lip liner selection was less than I expected: there were few shades available in full sizes, and several testers were missing. However, when I was checking out, the cashier (Scott) suggested a mini Sephora liner in aubergine, and I decided to give it a try. He mentioned that particular color goes well with most Sephora red/berry lipsticks. When I brought the liner home and opened it, though, the tip had been smushed, and was basically gone. It was disappointing to see a brand-new product like that out of the box, but I fixed it easily with some sharpening. The lipstick (Crush 23) and liner are perfect together. I wish I could find it in a full size, but I think that color may only come as a mini. I might look for something similar from a different brand, when it runs out. Four stars because I found a new lipstick I enjoy, and because Scott seemed to know just the liner shade to match. (Before shopping I read some Google reviews of this store, and he's gotten kudos there too. The compliments for him are well-deserved :-) ). I would go back just for his help. read more

I've been to this Sephora 3 times and while convenient, the service is very hit-or-miss. The associates have typically been friendly, which is a plus, but I have spent double the time I intend to because things move very slowly in the check out process. The selection is much smaller than a Sephora store, but like another reviewer said, if you're looking for any Sephora, this is better than no Sephora. I did see construction beginning for a standalone store, which would be great. Hopefully they won't deal with issues with understaffing and slow service there. read more

This Sephora is located in the JC Penny's in the Altamonte Springs Mall, top level near the jewelry and shoes. They've been open here since June 2012. I happened in here by chance and discovered this gem with some of my favorite brands. The small store inside a store offers many premium brands of fragrances, skin care and make up that are not available in the local area beauty departments or shops. The staff was friendly and helpful, I made my selections and upon check out was offered my choice of custom sample of a fragrance, skin product, etc. The sales gal made a recommendation of a new lighter skin cream with SPF and quickly filled a travel sized container with fresh product so I'm currently trying that out now. There are two stations set up for make up applications and several customers were taking advantage of the helpful associates skills. read more

I love this little setup inside JC Penney! It's definitely on the smaller scale but they do carry a majority of the premium fragrances, makeup, and skin care products that you would find at the Sephora's at Millenia and Florida Mall. Half of the staff members are so sweet and will do their best to help you find what you need and then the other half are rude. I also feel that most of the staff members aren't knowledgable of their products. There have been multiple occasions when a staff member would choose a color that was way off from my skin tone or would just be like "Oh everyone likes this moisturizer so you should get it" instead of helping me find the product that best suits my needs. Overall I think this Sephora is great if you need to pick up a product that you ran out of or if you just want to browse around and try things out. But if you're looking for advice/consultations you might as well head 15-20 minutes down I4 to the Millenia or Florida Mall locations where the staff can actually help you. read more

This is probably one of the worst Sephora locations that I've been to, maybe I just come on their off days but I've been pretty disappointed. For the most part, the staff either acts like I am not good enough to talk to or is just rude. I had encountered a couple of nice employees on my visits, but it seems to be the exception to the rule. Their selection is smaller than the traditional Sephoras, but that's a given since it is located inside of JCP's. They have a really nice selection of Stila and Nars and a wide variety of perfumes. I wish they would scale back a little on perfume and expand how much makeup they carry, but that tends to be a trend with all Sephora's within JCP and not just this location. I will probably visit this location again but mostly out of convenience and not the quality of service. read more

This sephora is my go to sephora as it is closest to my loft. I enjoy coming here to purchase my items because it is small and private the only thing i would love to see is more employees as other sephoras ive visited were full of employees. This one help is hard to find when you need help and theyre only 3 employees who are buisy with other clients Thats the only con so it may help to know what you want before going in because itll. I come to this store because it's convenient for me and is close to home. However, this is the second time I've been here and got treated like crap by the SAME girl! I don't know her name, but she works inside of the JCP location, African American, pretty, skinny, braided hair both times I saw her. I don't leave reviews on places unless I'm that upset with the way someone treated me. And this girl did it twice. The first time she rolled her eyes at me when I smiled and said "excuse me" because she was available and I needed something. And I was surely being sweet until she did that. Then I asked for what I needed and she said hold on and she'll be right back. She didn't even come back. This was a busy day so I let it go and asked someone else for help. Today, I came and there was only one customer in the store, and she was helping the customer. I already knew what I needed and opened up a drawer to get it. She literally yelled and said "I'll be right with you love" with the meanest look on her face. I stared blankly and stopped what I was doing. Then she asked the customer she was helping to hold on after she made me stand there for like two minutes. Then said in a loud demanding voice "what is it that I can help you with?" I answered her question with a product and specific color, and she said "we're out of that, so you can maybe go check at the store downstairs by Macy's." Never have I ever had someone yell me for simply looking for something I need, but then on top of that tell me to go check downstairs. This probably one of most favorite place to let your hair down and get makeover at the same time. My bestie bought me here one day. Remind you not makeup person at all. Just lip gloss kind chic. This one particular employee at Sephora made my day her name is Mimi. She was full of great personality and gave her recommendation on trying some new on my face. She wasn't pushy kind girl with make up stuff. We also enjoy each other and came back for makeup over for my birthday following next week. I also purchase some things as well. Walked around aimlessly looking for a particular mascara. The store was quiet wth customers, but two of the staff were too busy to even ask if I needed any help or to even make eye contact or say hello. When I did find the mascara I wanted, there was no box there to buy and not a staff member to find in the quiet store, to ask for help. I won't be back. read more
