Worst pharmacy EVER! I got yelled at by some type of pharmacy manager because I said they ordered the wrong item for my prescription. I told her that is not what my doctor sent in. She yelled again that it was and that now they were stuck with it because I was not going to buy it. After many phone calls between my doctor and Walgreens, I found out that Walgreens no longer would order my prescription in the form I needed. Walgreens changed the prescription my doctor ordered into a form that they WOULD order! My prescription was for medication in a vial that I could draw my own injection from. Instead, they changed it to an an auto-inject pen. The quantity was the same, but the auto-inject pens cost $400 more per month than if I draw up my own shot. I never knew they could make a change like that. Plus, the lady yelling at me was totally unacceptable. I quit getting my prescriptions there and am saving money using Amazon Pharmacy now! Lashonda, who claims to be the pharmacy manager, is very difficult to work with. She's accused me of not being timely about picking up prescriptions. But then when I asked her which medication I hadn't picked up, she named one that they didn't have for me because insurance hadn't approved it. Then she said I needed to communicate better, and I asked what else I should do, given that I had already gone to three doctor's appointments about that issue, spent over 6 hours on the phone with insurance, and I'd responded to Walgreens' tests and had tried to update prescription requests on their website. Then she told me I needed to call the pharmacy 30 minutes in advance of picking up each prescription. Then she went back to saying I hadn't been picking up prescriptions on time, and I reiterated that I had. Then she said I wouldn't have to complain about how long it took to fill prescriptions when I had never complained about that. When I corrected those false statements, she accused me of interrupting and of arguing with her. Today, I got a "courtesy call" from her -- which was anything but. She said I hadn't picked up my prescriptions in 10 days, and I said that yes, I'd been out of town for 10 days. She said they couldn't hold them longer than that and I'd have to start all over with doctor's orders if I didn't pick them up today -- which isn't possible given that I'm 1000 miles away. I said that people have lives and that sometimes people go out of town. She said I'd had 10 days. I said that sometimes people go out of town for more than 10 days. Then she argued with me about how she had gone out of town plenty of times and had never had a problem with picking up prescriptions. Then she accused me of arguing with her! Then she said I was a problem customer and that maybe their pharmacy wasn't the best choice for me if I was going to constantly argue and be disrespectful. I asked if she was really turning away customers for no clear reason and asked how Walgreens would view that. I asked to speak to a manager and she said she was the manager. I asked to speak to a different manager and she said there was no one else I could talk to and that they didn't need to have anyone talk to me if I was going to constantly be argumentative and disrespectful. I was left feeling baffled. The icing on the cake was that I'd had to leave town for a memorial service and then do some family business and had gotten a migraine in the process of doing all of that. (It would have helped if I could have gotten the migraine meds before I'd left but Walgreens had said it was too soon to fill them.) Even when I told Lashonda I had a bad migraine, she didn't really let up. I never had these problems with the pharmacy at City Market, even after going there for 15 years. I'd only switched to Walgreens because they're the only place in town with a Drive Thru. I'd thought maybe it was just me, but so far two other people have shared similar experiences with Lashonda. read more

I went into Walgreens North in Durango today to buy one item. When I went to the cash register to check out, I was waited on by an emploiyee who had absolutely no customer service skills. He didn't greet me, and then he started ordering me around after he made a mistake like I was a subordinate of his. I tried to prompt him to say "please" but he completely ignored me. What a jerk! Why do stores like Walgreens train people to operate a cash register but completely ignore teaching their employees basic customer service skills. I will probably never return to this store. Walgreens is a pretty lousy store generally, but this one takes the prize. Made an appointment online for a flu/COVID test. When I got there (45min drive away), I was told that they won't honor appointments made within 24hrs of booking despite the fact that the Walgreens website allowed me to book the appointment. In addition I was told that they don't do flu tests even though that is what my appointment was for. Just as a side note, I was also told I should have gone to the drive they and was accused of putting other patients at risk. I also thought it was strange that the confirmation email they sent literally told me to go inside to the pharmacy counter... can't fix incompetence I guess. Unfortunately I need to give them a star to post the review. On the bright side, looks like my one star review won't be lonely on here. People hate this store even more than Walgreens south and I can see why read more

Bottom line: Do NOT use this pharmacy under any circumstances if you can avoid it. Every time we go to this pharmacy it is either unexpectedly closed, or they have not filled the RX. I feel for the staff as they are clearly stressed and underresourced. Whoever the store manager is, pay more so you can get reliable personnel in the door. Your level of service is abominable. The 28 Town Plaza Walgreens and Rivergate seem to be doing just fine. Go there. Details: Today, I went to pick up my husband's asthma medicine. - We had received a text saying his rx was ready. - I called and their automated system said it is being worked on. - I went to pick it up and they said Dr had rescinded the RX. I asked to speak to a supervisor as it made no sense. Her speaker was not working on the drive-through, so I was "interrupting her" In a condescending tone, she said, "Are you going to let me finish or keep interrupting me?" - Turns out the first employee was looking at the wrong RX. - Their automated system still says the RX is being filled - I called again the automated attendant said the pharmacy is closed. I called the main store and had them transfer me to the pharmacy . - Spoke with the supervisor again and they are out of the medication. How does this happen? The supervisor did take a moment to chastise me for not knowing the name of the RX I was picking up. - I have now spent an hour trying to get my husband his RX that we need before a flight on Tuesday. Understand he called the refill in a WEEK AGO. If this were the only bad experience with this Walgreens I would not have bothered to document the experience. However: - my husband went three times to pick up an RX in the past months and they were randomly closed and did not have the RX ready despite a text saying it was. - I personally spoke with someone at Walgreens and they told me the medication I needed for a life-threatening illness would be ready at 11am. Continually short-staffed with the pharmacy drive-thru often closed because of it, and continually changing hours of operation. Pay a higher wage and hold on to people, you're a nationwide corporation! Most of the store of staff is severely lacking in customer service skills or any interest whatsoever. The outside grounds and the building itself were very nice at one time. It has been disgusting for years...literally years. Walgreens Durango north pharmacy employee was extremely belligerent and rude. She refused to help with refill prescription and arbitrarily transferred all to another pharmacy and made false claims about the refill giving us lots of grief. Very bad customer service and often closed especially on weekends. My advice don't shop there. read more

The store is a typical Walgreens, but the staff is incredibly rude. I asked the pharmacist a question about where to locate a medical related product and the response was a rude "I wouldn't know about that." As if anything beyond a prescription question was beneath her. She called customer service and they came and were as equally unhelpful and rude. I am so sorry I bothered the staff by asking a question about locating a product I wanted to buy. Do not go here for COVID testing in the pharmacy. They are rude and argumentative and they tell you that your results will be ready within 3-5 business days even though the confirmation and web page state 72 hours. When calling the lab to inquire about results, they told me that Walgreens should have given me a confirmation/bar code # so that I could check the status of my results and Walgreens says they don't have to do that. read more

I got in line and just as I was next they said sorry we have to go on our 30 minute brake and closed the door so me and the lady that was about 100 years old couldn't get our medicine! That is horrible. That is the first and last time I ever go there. read more

Rude pharmacy staff. I understand staffing during COVID is difficult, but the rude behavior and insensitive nature of the pharmacy employees is not justified. Unfortunately this is the only Walgreens site in Durango that is certified for COVID travel testing. Using the website, I have an appointment for the drive thru COVID test, arrived early to wait in a line of cars that backs up onto Main St. and when finally getting to the drive thru window I was informed by Taylor the pharm. tech that I was late for my scheduled appt. and they would not perform the test and to move my car so they can get to the next person in line. (My apt was scheduled at 12:45, I arrived in line at 12:30 & was told at 12:50 I was late). I tried to explain that I had been there but the line of cars was to the street. After traveling back home we decided to stop here for some snacks and a restroom break. Instead we were greeted with the manager accusing us of stealing. Mind you we had just walked in and was browsing the snack aisle. I was raised with morals and manners I couldnt imagine doing this. I use to have really great experiences shopping at this location. Recently it has been very different. I no longer feel comfortable in this store because the atmosphere is no longer good. I shop here a lot and I'm really concerned how the employees are no longer smiling and happy. I'm so concerned about this that I asked to speak to the store manager and to my surprise I was told there was no store manager. When I questioned further I was told there hasn't been a store manager in weeks and they don't know if they'll ever get one!!! I would really like to know what kind of operation is being ran and who's in charge of it!!! I feel if Walgreens doesn't care about their employees ; especially not having a store manager ; then they sure don't care about the customer!!!
