Compared with other restaurants and retailers in the area, where we have consistently encountered exceptionally friendly and welcoming customer service, Woodman's seems to fall noticeably short. On each of our shopping visits, employees have generally failed to greet or acknowledge us, even when we approach them for assistance. When we do ask for help, their responses often come across as curt, dismissive, and as though helping a customer is an inconvenience. For a company that takes pride in being employee-owned, this is particularly disappointing. One would hope that employee ownership would foster a greater sense of pride, engagement, and commitment to the customer experience, along with a shared interest in the store's success. Woodman's has a great concept and offers shoppers a lot of potential value. However, the lack of warmth and welcoming customer service creates an uninviting atmosphere that detracts from the overall shopping experience. We wanted to share this feedback because we would genuinely like to see Woodman's live up to its reputation and become a store we enjoy visiting regularly. A simple greeting, a friendly attitude, and a willingness to assist customers would go a long way toward making shoppers feel welcome and appreciated.

As far as Costcos go, this is not the best and not the wrost location. I'm quite thankful that this…read morelocation exists only because there would be quite a gap of warehouse locations (between Costco and Sam's Club) if this didn't cover an intermediate area between Schaumburg, Des Plaines, Vernon Hills, etc. The traffic flow isn't helped by being so close to the Home Depot, though it's really not as busy as I've seen at other Costcos either. The layout here is fairly sensible, similar to the flow of what I've seen at most other Costcos (electronics front, meats in the back, dry goods and clothing in the middle). If dairy and frozen items were closer together, I think it would be a bit more logical from a purchasing flow stand point -- and if the prepared foods could be all grouped closer to one another I think it would be a bit easier to find. Otherwise, this is a fairly standard costco with generally chaotic traffic flow on the weekend between shoppers (both in the warehouse and in the store). Prices are great and selection is great, and checking out isn't terribly slow. Overall, fairly good costco though the differences between each aren't significant enough to really travel to one over another versus the one most convenient to you. You'll be able to get the high quality items you're looking for at great prices here.

Anyway, we knew what we wanted and decided to order a mattress from Costco as opposed to a regular mattress shop as we have always done previously. It was "just" for a guest room queen size mattress and we thought we would see what the experience might be like and we bought a decent looking hybrid firm queen mattress for $800 (listed prices include delivery). Scheduling was seamless and prompt and the deliverers arrived right within their 2 hour window 4 working days after the order. The mattress was nice and clean and new unlike poor experience from some low rated reviewers. The customer service issues we had was with the deliverers who turned out to be 2 younger guys that worked for Costco's sub-contractor Ryder Last Mile. They were friendly and polite, but the first thing was they didn't take their shoes off or use foot coverings. I didn't like that but also didn't say anything not knowing Costco practices. The other thing was when I said don't forget to take the old mattress, they said "you need to call Costco and they will send another truck for it". I was surprised as the Costco.com site specifically said mattress removal was included, but again being Costco, I gave them the benefit of my doubt. I asked them to at least take the mattress downstairs and leave it by the curb, and they complied. After they hurried off, my first thought was I'm glad I didn't tip them as I was going to do if they were nice and competent, but they didn't deserve anything anyway lol. I immediately called Costco.com to schedule the pickup and also complain about the lack of old mattress removal, and the empathetic rep on the phone agreed they should have done so, and he immediately called the management of the cited sub-contractor, who then immediately had the same crew come back and pick up the mattress which they did within an hour. The Costco leverage and quality control really shined then as we have come to expect. In a second later phone call, I called back to complain and pass on customer feedback about their sub not respecting property with their lack of shoe coverings, and again another empathetic Costco.com rep agreed. He also then nicely offered a $50 credit to our account for the bit of trouble and I thought that was a nice touch and again befitting of Costco quality control. Anyway, overall, and despite the mixed experience, we're quite pleased with the Costco.com purchase here.

The nice thing is everything (I think) is $5 or below About a week ago I bought a pair of headphones. The right side got tangled up and the earbud came loose and I lost the price so I went in to get another pair not really knowing what to expect. When I brought up the replacement pair of earbuds the guy working the counter rang it up and gave it to me for free. I wasn't really expecting the replacement to be free, but I do appreciate the fact that they were willing to give me a different earbud and not charge me. Now I know $5 isn't much, but I do appreciate the fact that stepped up and gave me a free replacement. I will continue to shop there when the need arises

I never really looked into it before but I thought Five Below was maybe a lower end clothing store lol. Anyway, it's basically an a-ok dollar store with items priced nominally up to $5. It's a fine store for such and they have a wide variety of items. They may not have the quality of a Hello Tokyo or a Daiso but you get more for your discount dollars here it appears. The kiddos had plenty of fun items to pick from to stay under their $5 budget and they enjoyed their shopping here. My only critique is that many items showed a scan code but no specific price except a sign saying less than $5. I had to ask the friendly and helpful attendant several times what an item's price was and most items we picked were $3.50 or $4 but it would be helpful to show an exact price if possible. I would recommend any discount shoppers check out this a-ok franchise to see if there's a consumer fit for themselves.

I ask to see what a new 10 dollar bill look like? and asked for the manager who look at the 10 in one second and said it's good but, started with excuses. I was under the impression that this was a dollar store, so I was a bit surprised to find that most items there are much more than $1. But they are still affordable. It's simply a discount shop. I get it. Some of the items sold here aren't that great of a deal, but there were a few things I found that did the trick. They have a card section with 2/$1 cards and some of the off-brand items are much cheaper than their name brand counterparts. I'm just not sure how much I trust generic Pine-Sol. It's crowded and I started to feel a bit claustrophobic. Luckily, being such a tiny space means you don't need to spend much time searching in there. I got 2 cards and a packet of M&M's for exactly $2.
